Each appointment was with a different doctor and never the same price as mentioned on the phone at the time we booked our appointments. We had such a bad experience at the last vaccine appointment before the surgery I didn't know if we should go back. They are not referring back to the cats file and are asking questions that is definitely in the file ( like if he as a microchip... yes you are the one who did it!) I was so concern that we wanted to talk to a manager or someone in charge. No one would take our call. We made a review on google, not a bad one, just fair, about our concerns. We then received a registered letter to ban our pet from the clinic, can't even buy the cat food there anymore. If this is how they handle a simple concern, I would want to know how they handle a real problem. My cat's health and safety is too important to me to leave it in the hands of a place that doesn't even care about the animal. DON'T GO THERE, there are plenty of good places in the city, avoid VETERINAIRE DU PLATEAU.

They are the absolute cleanest Veterinarians hospitals I've ever been to and they reclean the table in front of me so that I can feel confident that I'm putting my kitties on a germ free exam table. All of the staff there is super friendly and caring. They even email me to tell me that they spent time giving my kitty love and cuddles while they spend the day in their care. Following a delayed diagnosis of kidney failure, we were counseled to have our 13 year old, beloved dog put down (to be clear, this was absolutely the right option for us and we did feel supported in making this decision). Because our dog was unable to walk, the veterinarian agreed to come to our home. When he arrived, I was very distraught and emotional, and he had forgotten to pack with his supplies the anesthetic. While we all make mistakes, I was devastated when the veterinarian asked me if I thought my dog Bella 'would be ok without it.' I said no, and that he should go back to the clinic and get it before performing the procedure as I wanted to be certain Bella would not be in any physical or emotional distress. The procedure itself was not smooth. My husband had to physically assist and the veterinarian took about 10 tries before being able to find a vein (I shudder to think how distressing that would have been to my dog had I not insisted on the anesthetic). Fast forward three weeks; we had selected (AND PAID FOR) the option of having Bella's ashes preserved and returned to us. I was informed this would take 2-3 weeks. When I called the clinic on 3 weeks +1 day I was told Bella's ashes would be returned to me within a few days and the clinic apologized for the delay. When I saw the clinic's phone number on light up on my phone an hour later it was with the expectation the ashes had arrived. But no. The clinic was calling to inform me they had 'neglected to process my payment and so....ugh....Bella is still here.' My poor, beloved dog has been sitting in their freezer, forgotten about, since February 3. I don't have a lot of experience with pet loss, I will admit, but this hurt my heart terribly. I walk past the clinic daily and knowing Bella has been there all this time, was devastating for me. I share this in the hopes that someone who is seeking kindness and compassion in their veterinary care option, goes anywhere other than Landsdowne, because you will not find an ounce of either of those there.

They said no problem, just be here before 3:15 p.m.. Not even 5 minutes later the office called me back & refused to see Stormy (13 year old shih tzu) because he is old & is too sick to be able to see him. We were 5 minutes away by this time. I was crushed. Stormy is really not well & they refused to see us, even with an appt. We would have been there by 3:10 p.m. This after my regular vet couldn't see us in a timely manner so they referred us to the Carling Animal Clinic. The Carling Animal Hosptial tried to send us to the Ottawa Veterinary Clinic at Carling, but they charge 2x the $! How could they refuse to see my dog because he's old & has too many symptoms?! It's unethical & unprofessional to say the least. If they did it to me, they will do it to others.

We are not clients of this clinic but they were gracious enough to give us an urgent appointment last April for our cat Felix "fefe" who was clearly at the end of his life. He was very old and had stopped eating over the course of several days so we knew it was time. Our regular vet was on holiday but the BHVC was able to take us in right away when we explained the situation. It was a heartbreaking ordeal and was made even more stressful by the fact that we were unfamiliar with the BHVC, but the staff at the reception desk and our vet tech Julisa greeted us with kindness and compassion. Julisa in particular was absolutely amazing! I was total reck, but she was kind, understanding and supported us every step of the way. I was even more touched, when a month after fefe's passing we received a beautiful condolence card signed by all of the staff. Dr Gemmel helped with appropriate meds and assessments. She listened to my concerns and was on board with having my dog heal on "bed rest" at home as I couldn't afford surgery. ($6000) I really appreciated that she typed up the instructions for me on paper, making things fool proof. When you're handed 5+ medications it can get a little scary and overwhelming. I really appreciated that her techs called me every few days to check on Stewies progress. I also really appreciated that the vet would call me if I needed advice. RX refills are also fast which is super helpful. I can tell dr Gemmel truly cares for animals. She didn't push a bunch of extra expensive treatments and understood my financial stress. My dog wasn't terrified of her either; as he usually is with most vets. A big thank you again To dr. Gemmel and your staff!

Roxy has IBD - and sometimes medicating her before a visit is not possible. The sedation was also extremely hard on her weak digestive system. At WESTBORO ANIMAL HOSPITAL, not only was she welcomed in without her pre-visit medication - Dr. Cameron spent a tremendous amount of time making friends with her and helping her relax! Over the duration of the visit she relaxed, accepted treats, offered her paw, and shared "blinks" with the doctor! An AMAZING clinic and amazing staff - where my pet is the actual priority!!

The location is super close to Kanata and the staff are very pleasant. The vet also really took her time to talk to us and answer any question we had. She really seemed to know her stuff and was very patient with all of our questions about our dog and cat (even though the appointment wasn't even for our cat). These guys also don't force you to do blood work unlike a lot of other clinics I've asked. They also have a nice selection of pet supplies in the waiting room. They are quite up to date with technology too as their rabies tags come with a qr code with all your info that people can scan if your dog gets lost. Also they have a site that you can access with all your pet's records and can book appointments. Sidenote: If you arrive a little early there's a nice park beside it with a pond you can walk your dog around.
