I work diligently to keep my personal email private and don't appreciate this disregard and misuse of my personal data. Permission to share my information was NOT given.

Their prices are very reasonable and their team satisfied all of our needs. Dillon and Lisa were responsible for the last small project (a clam bulkhead door). It is superior to the normal steel bulkhead doors and looks beautiful. It was scheduled and performed quickly with great skill and courtesy. Everything a homeowner could ask for.

I hired them knowing I would be overpaying but it was worth it to me to be able to expect professionalism. It is notoriously difficult to hire good contractors on the Outer Cape and with my own work going on I wanted to be able to rely on them in my absence. In my full time job on the west coast I project manage construction sites and have supervised more than 200 home renovations. I am taking my General Contractor-B test later this year. I am telling you these things so that you understand that I am not just some whiny homeowner; I work with contractors and handymen on a daily basis and I am well known and highly respected in my field. The treatment I have received from the unprofessional staff at Muto turned me into a raving lunatic sending all capital, bolded, highlighted emails as I tried to do something, ANYTHING, to get them to respond to me and fix the problem. Their communication is absolutely terrible on all aspects of their work. They did a roof for me in Wellfleet several years ago and failed to complete one portion; it took many, many emails and calls from me to finally get the unfinished portion that they just left with tar paper completed 9 months later. Then they did a partial roof at my mother's house in Truro, and when I called them to complete the second section of roof, they quoted me on a total roof replacement. It is reasonable to say that Dillon there quoting perhaps did not know they had just been hired about 18 months earlier, but what is NOT reasonable is that he couldn't look at the roof (since he was physically there) and be able to see half of it was brand new. I should have stopped hiring them at that point, but again I was hoping that a large general contractor firm would ultimately perform better than hiring small and sometimes unreliable individual contractors. I was wrong. Last summer I hired them to replace an exterior window, an exterior door, and build an outdoor shower. Their first installation of the exterior shower did not follow the plan at all and dangerously included a bathroom casement window (crank open) INSIDE the outdoor shower where naked people could hit their head, not to mention be viewed by anyone inside the bathroom. I was sorry to make them re-do it but I had to make them re-do the outdoor shower since the installation not only had no privacy, but was also dangerous. They were not happy about it but they did it. Again, that was not the original plan and their site supervisor should have been on top of it before the mistake ever happened. The final straw was this summer because the door they installed just last summer has a bent piston and is already corroding. I reached out to them more than a DOZEN times via email and telephone and was finally told to send a photo of the serial number on the door. I did that, and it has been months without a reply despite my repeated inquiries. They finally told me today that the very expensive Anderson door they THEY CHOSE is not suited for a coastal environment and I will just need to keep replacing it periodically. SO WHY DID THEY INSTALL IT IN A COASTAL ENVIRONMENT???? And why did they take months and months to respond? This is a general contractor firm. Employees should respond to emails within 1 business day, 2 at the most, even if all they say is that your message has been received and they will respond as soon as possible They don't even do that; they just ghost you like a teenager if something is wrong. I can't say enough bad things about Muto and I wish I had not given them over $30,000 of my money the past few years.

He became angry, yelled at our agent, said we were stringing him along, and he was "OUT". Honestly, we are shocked that he would have a customer base of buyers and agents if this is how they are treated. A home is one of your biggest investments and a simple question about a kitchen floor plan should have been answered with ease. Having built two other homes in the past, his reaction is shocking. This is terribly disappointing.

Super clean at all times and was able to work with us on various hiccups/unexpected stuff along the way. He explained options and the pros and cons of each possible choice. He never upcharged us (unless we asked for something) and was exactly on budget. Very happy with his work and would definitely recommend. We will likely call on him again for our next project.

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. They engage in DECEPTIVE practices and do SHODDY work. They installed a…read moregranite countertop improperly such that there were large gaps between backsplash and counter and wall and they damaged our wood floors and panelled walls. They apologized in writing and offered to remove it and refund us. But they strung us along and did not remove the countertop until we could not longer dispute the charge with our credit card. After the uninstallation they sent an email stating they were issuing a refund but they never did and we could no longer reach them. I do have emails confirming they were to issue the refund so I am pursuing legal action. They are very good at making you think they will take care of things but then they stall and stall and its now obvious I should have never trusted them.

This group--from Tracey Perry's help with design (amazing!) to Mike Heinrich's detailed budget which they stuck to and Bill Schmidt's communication on every detail, it was actually a pleasant experience. I highly recommend this group. In between my two projects with Cape & Islands Kitchens I did another property with a well known, popular Falmouth builder (hint: begins with an "L"). We purchased all our own materials - he charged us over $12k to install the tile and new tub. Jean would constantly say he would be there and then not show up. He didn't return phone calls or texts. He would disappear for days with no explanation. The sporadic, inconsistent communication was the first red flag. He eventually finished the job and it looked fine. In June 2024 we were contacted by the owner of the condo beneath us that their guest bath ceiling fell in-due to water leaking from our guest bath. I immediately had a plumber go out and investigate. The plumber said this was not a plumbing problem. The leaks were due to cracks in grout and gaps in the tile/tub space. I contacted Jean and at first he denied ever doing the job which was unbelievable - the. He blamed the plumbing. Then he said the tub wasn't level (he installed the tub) then he blamed it on water splashing from the shower. I showed him the photos of the cracks and gaps in floor and tub - I asked him to take responsibility for his work and go repair the grout and seal the gaps with some silicon/caulking. He said he would be there after 3. He never showed and never called. I followed up the next business day he again said he would come out and do the repairs. Once again he was a no show. I finally hired someone else to fix the gaps/cracks. Jean is a not someone you want to do business with
