Such a historic spot with tons of charm. The atmosphere really makes you feel like you're somewhere special, and the waitstaff was super friendly and welcoming. That said, the prices were kind of wild for what you get. The filet was good and cooked well, but the sides were lacking. The lobster thermador was $72 and all you got was tail meat, which felt pretty disappointing. The side salad was tiny and the house dressing was cloyingly sweet. The homemade bread was delicious and honestly one of the best parts of the meal. Dessert cakes were okay, nothing amazing. Such a diamond in Ligonier! I called to make reservations in the "Speak Easy" area in the bar. When we arrived, our server Ronale greeted us a guided us to a cozy table in the bar area but, not too close. You can sense the "old" feel to this restaurant. Such charm and history. Along with the menu, we received a document which briefly details the restaurant's history. After taking our drinks order, server Ronale explained menu items of significance such as their famous onion rings, homemade salad dressing and hand cut steaks. Our server kept our dinner at a comfortable pace and was aware each time we needed something. Our onion ring appetizer was superb. The French onion soup was tasty. The broth was delicious. Our steaks were expertly prepared to our liking. At the conclusion of dinner we decided to have a night cap. A dirty martini and an espresso martini sealed the deal for us. What a lovely restaurant. Went here for a nicer night out and wasn't disappointed. Unfortunately I took no pictures. It's a fairly intimate space and it would have been inappropriate. We started with a mountain of homemade onion rings that went nicely with our cocktails. Since it was February they had a lengthy list of Valentines themed drinks. My friend and I had the filet, husband had the huge pork chop and our other friend had the lamb. They come with sides and a salad. We finished with a peanut butter chocolate dessert. I hadn't been here since the new owners took over and was excited to return for my birthday. The atmosphere took a hit when I saw all clutter on the front porch and when I didn't need to use the buzzer to get in. The door was ajar. We were greeted from across the room with "Yeah. Can I help you?" We were told to "come up here" with the wave of an arm. The team member went to the bar, looked at the reservations to confirm my name and then, from no where near me, pointed across the room and said simply "over there". The onion rings, sea bass and fillet were very good. Salads were pedestrian and the French onion soup base lacked any flavor. My biggest disappointment was that the bread was cold when served. Not room temperature but cold to the touch. The Manhattans were fantastic. The few misses with the food I could almost forgive. But, the lack of higher end service touches will keep me from coming back. read more

Had an opportunity to try out the famous Eastwood Inn. The story behind this speakeasy turned steakhouse is awesome. The décor feels like a stepping back in time from the curved wood and glass entry door to the dark woods used throughout the establishment. The cocktail list is excellent and provides the prohibition feel. The bartender Ron is at the top of his game and great conversationalist. Moving from the bar to the dinner table started off pretty good with the Onion Ring appetizers (Ron's recommendation). there were plenty to share and they had just the right amount of crunch. The dinner salad was good, I selected the Wedge with their house dressing (Italian) and added crumbled blue. The salad was more of a 1/2 of wedge and lacked the classic presentation, but the dressing was a good compliment to the blue cheese (winner). The main course took awhile as we had a bigger party, but with only 2 tables in the restaurant at time of ordering. I ordered a medium rare Ribeye steak added some Truffle butter and it is served with mushrooms. I chose succotash as my vegetable. When the food arrived the the succotash was dry(no butter), it was cold and only lima beans only partial cooked. The waitress did not check on our table until the very end of the meal else I could of provided feedback. My Steak was served luke warm and struggled to render enough heat to melt the truffle butter. The quality of the Ribeye lacked marbling and flavor, if it had been served hot that may have helped. Several of the guests in our party felt their main courses were underwhelming. Visiting family nearby, we've always enjoyed venturing out and trying new restaurants in the area. We are SO happy to have found the Eastwood Inn. The drink menu has something for everyone and the cocktails are perfectly executed. The food was exceptional, from the salads, apps and mains, everyone was impressed. Service was friendly and attentive. Bottom line, Eastwood Inn is a great spot that rivals and exceeds many famous restaurants all over the country. It is a complete gem. We typically only have special occasions here, as it is high end $$$$$, but always feel welcome and appreciated by the owners and staff. First, this is a small, speakeasy style restaurant with locally sourced meats and produce. Locally sourced food is not cheap and is not consistent like manufactured foods. Therefore the prices are higher than normal restaurants but that is price of the atmosphere combined with the locally sourced food. We had a great time here. You arrive by buzzing in the door which is controlled by the bartender who can see you through a one-way mirror. You will then be seated at the bar while you wait for your table. The bartender will then ask if you are new. If you say yes, they will give you their very knowledgeable spiel about the history and backstory of a lot of the features of the Eastwood. You may even get to try some onion rings while you wait. We had some great cocktails made for us while we waited for our table with no rushing. Once seated we ordered a couple more drinks while looking over the menu. The menu is not modern, but why should it be? This whole place is meant to replicate a speakeasy from the prohibition era. The food was reasonably priced given the level of service and quality. Overall, we had a great time. It was an experience and will plan on going back soon for the ribeye. read more

Not many steak houses around that take you back in time with decor of the 50's. I'd love to give this former speakeasy 5 stars, but for steak dishes to get 5 stars you need to be right on! My wife has always been happy with the filet steaks, but I've had either ribeye's or t-bones that did not hit the 5 star mark. Enjoy some time at the bar before dinner. They prepare great Martini's! They are also known for their wedge salad with house dressing and added crumbled blue cheese...you cannot go wrong. All in all we have been very happy with this place and their friendly and personal service. We highly recommend this place. About the decor...don't change a thing. I wish I could give them 5 stars. My wife and I have been here twice now. The atmosphere is 10/10. This place is an absolute gem. It's an old school bar and steakhouse that feels like a relic of the past. The staff is welcoming and helpful. The cocktails were great. The food is good but not great. Ive had the ribeye both times and it is a solid steak, but I have had better. I feel like the meat quality is fantastic but preparation could maybe be better? Salad and veg felt generic, not bad, just not great. My wife had scampi on our most recent visit. Again, not bad, but not great. There is something about the simplicity of the food that is charming and fitting. This place is great. We had once thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Eastwood and had been planning a return with my family. Unfortunately last night's experience was like going to a different restaurant. The steaks were totally disappointing, the lamb chops were fatty and not flavorful. The veal was just ok. The sea bass was the exception, it was very good. At these prices I would expect excellent service. There was one server for an entire filled and very noisy room. Meals were served as if in a coffee shop. Bottles of wine were Deposited on the table, never even poured. The server was clearly very busy. First time eating here, ambiance was good but it was very noisy. As I saw on another post, there was only one waitress and she was busy, and we didn't see her for a bit if time, looking for a refill for my wife's drink. The steak was very good, and the salad was great. But my wife's chicken didn't have much flavor except overwhelming lemon and the Lima beans even when season was also a bit lacking in flavor. Since I moved to the area during the second half of 2019, I have received recommendations that I need to try The Eastwood. Everyone that mentioned it or was asked about it gave high recommendations about how great everything is. I decided to dine at The Eastwood to celebrate my and my wife's birthdays since the are only a few days apart. We were both looking forward to this meal. We were both extremely disappointed. I don't believe that I am a victim of unrealistic expectations as I have had good to great meals at chain restaurants, mom and pop restaurants, and higher-end restaurants such as Eleven in Pittsburgh's Strip District. Despite everything being hyped as great, it was not a good dining experience by any means. The service was poor, the waitress was not friendly or welcoming, I had to motion to the waitress and bartender who were just hanging out (not making drinks or entering orders) as I had questions regarding my food allergies and she was inattentive to our table. Despite how bad all of those things were, I probably would not have cared much if the food was good. Unfortunately the food was not good. The butter for the bread was so cold and hard that I had to cut it and spread it on my plate to soften it enough to spread on my bread without tearing it to shreds. The bread was ok, but nothing spectacular. I have bread from plenty of family bakeries that far surpassed it. I ordered the french onion soup as an appetizer. It was mediocre at best. I ordered a wedge salad with blue cheese, baked potato, and the 22oz T-bone for my main course. The wedge salad was barely more than the wedge of iceberg lettuce with little else and a "dressing" that was more akin to blue cheese crumbles. The steak was near flavorless. It did not taste "dry-aged" as it was purported to be, nor did it taste like it had made contact with a single spice, seasoning, or even just salt. It tasted the same as if you bought a nice steak at any old grocery store, drove home, and threw it in the oven without doing anything outside of removing the packaging. I have had better steaks at Applebees, Texas Roadhouse, and Ruby Tuesdays. Within the 6 months prior I had an amazing meal at Out Of The Fire that far surpassed The Eastwood while also not being quite as expensive. The only good thing that I can say about my steak was that it was cooked to the doneness that I requested, which is usually where restaurants tend to fail in my experience. My wife had similar feelings about her meal. The whole experience was extremely disappointing. I had to buy steak to cook myself for us in the upcoming week to remind our bodies that steak is an enjoyable food that we like and not the bland, disappointing hunk of protein that I experienced that evening. If I am paying 100% markup on the ingredients I expect it to be at least as good as what I can cook at home. A pleasant atmosphere with friendly staff would also be a plus. I will never go to The Eastwood again, even if I am not paying. It was that bad. read more

For sure the steaks were very impressive - big cuts and extremely tender - and for that reason worth the visit. However, not much else to brag about. The menu was limited, and they were very inflexible with requests for anything special in an attempt to accommodate a guest's dietary restrictions. So bummed. We've been here a handful of times before and absolutely loved it. Visited again last night and was sorely disappointed. The greeting we received was one of being being put out. The menu had changed and prices had been raised significantly. Ok, fine, must be better right?? Wrong...Our salads were only iceberg lettuce with half of a tomato and half a cucumber, no lie. Our filets were so incredibly dry and you could tell the baked potato was microwaved. We are fine with paying for a great dining experience but this was not. Not only the food quality and display but the atmosphere. When you choose a higher end restaurant, you want the ambience to match. Our server was rearranging tables to prepare for end of day closing. From the moment you get buzzed in ( I heard it was a speakeasy during prohibition ) until you open the humble menu of steaks, chops and limited seafood and finally dig into your meal every part of the experience is over the top. The bar room is the best place to dine. It feels like an old school supper club with warm wood paneling and vintage linoleum floors. The onion rings are a must as is the wedge salad with house blue cheese vinaigrette. During my last visit I had the rib steak, which was juicy and well marbled. The Eastwood Inn is a find and a hidden gem. There are no signs outside- you enter the restaurant via a standard home entry- ring a doorbell and get buzzed in. The secret entrance alone makes the experience a true adventure. To find the Eastwood it is across the street from the Ligonier Beach. The ceilings are low, the wood panels dark and the decor is very 1950's including the long bar that feels like a underground cocktail lounge including the red light bulb- I had a glass of French wine and was delighted to have a bowl of mixed nuts served with my tasty Cotes du Rhone. My friend insisted on me trying the onion rings and the owner was nice enough to serve me a taste instead of a full order because I was concerned about my wasteline. The fresh cut rings were excellent and not greasy. I ordered the Eastwood Steak Sandwich- the steak was the size of a softball, served perfectly at medium rare and so tender it cut like butter. The open face sandwich was served on homemade bread that was toasted and smothered in amazing mushrooms- the salad with fresh crumbled blue cheese was off the charts to start. My friend ate Jamison Lamb Chops- locally raised and delicious. Our server Bobby has been there for 25 years- the old school atmosphere is real and the food is nothing short of great- the new owners are very hospitable and even served me a free glass of wine to welcome me to the Eastwood. Lima Beans are a house treat as are their homemade desserts. This joint is not to be missed. Next time I will start with a old school cocktail maybe a Rusty Nail. read more

the atmosphere and decor are terrific, especially the old cigarette machine. service was attentive, drinks were good. i had late dinner with 3 others and everyone else really enjoyed their meal (salad with blue cheese, soup, scampi, shrimp, chicken). i ordered the lamb chops which hailed from nearby jamison's farm. i ordered medium temp, yet they were soooo rare i really was disappointed. i should have sent them back, but the conversation was so good, i let it slide. for $42, that was a huge mistake on my part and is the difference between a 3 star and 4 star review. read more
