The private cabins are soooo cool and made a perfect setting for brunch. Despite rainy, cool weather, the cabin was outfitted with a heat lamp and extra floor heater, as well as some cozy blankets. Service was friendly and quick! The only downsides were the quality of food + the price. For $99 per person at brunch, you get 2 mimosas, oatmeal and chia pudding, and then a platter with egg frittata, salmon, sausage, pork, french toast/cinnamon rolls, breakfast potatoes and avocado toast. Only about 25% of the platter was actually tasty which was really unfortunate. The meats were super dry and pretty inedible. With better food options, this would be a top place to dine!!! Overall the ambiance made up for the meal, and it was nice timing to be able to have brunch at 10:30 and go straight to our tour of Polymath Park at 12. read more

I've been wanting to get here for quite a while, and found it to be a truly lovely, memorable experience. This is not your average day/evening out. You're probably here for some type of special occasion, because it is certainly pricey. I decided to splurge for a friend's birthday for brunch, which runs $95 per person and includes a mimosa. The same friend has visited a number of Frank Lloyd Wright houses with me, from this PA region to New York to Illinois, so it felt like the perfect place. I made a reservation on OpenTable and indicated that we had one vegetarian (myself). The restaurant followed up to make sure there were no other notes they needed to know, and also to see if I wanted to add anything on. You can add things like rose petals on the table and a single rose to the celebratory person, wine options, or an individual-ish celebration cake. I decided to add the celebration cake, which costs $20 and serves two people. There is a main restaurant, but the special experience this place has certainly become known for are the individual dining pods, which are out in the trees but well screened from any weather. There are heaters and fans available in your pod. It is a truly lovely private dining experience. You can just slightly hear conversations of other diners in nearby pods if you listen very hard, and there is piano music playing on speaker, which is instrumental version of popular songs like Britney Spears, Shakira etc. We found this funny but simultaneously enjoyed it. They had nice little touches like a Happy Birthday sign on the wall and an embossed happy birthday note for the birthday person to keep, and brought out chilled plates for a dessert involving frozen custard. It was nice attention to detail that reminded you this is a special dining experience. Service is attentive but unobtrusive and wants to make sure you are happy with your experience. Onto the food. The mimosas were already on our table when we arrived. Our server indicated they were sending out a complimentary amuse-bouche from the chef, which was an individual vegetable stuffed mushroom. It was delicious and a nice starting note. Then came the appetizer, a smoked burrata with pita, arugula, grape tomatoes and an edible orchid. Everything is so beautifully presented here, and just delicious. The entrées were crazy. There were two portions each of stuff French toast, potatoes and frittata. Those were all vegetarian and shareable. On a separate board came enough meat for two people to share as well, salmon, pork, sausage and carrots. Since that tray was not for me they also brought me a vegetarian bowl including veggies, chickpeas and quinoa. It was a lot of food and we ended up taking a nice amount of leftovers home from this part of the meal. Everything was wonderfully prepared, with the stuffed French toast probably being my favorite bite. Our server said she would be bringing dessert which I assumed was the celebration cake. But no, there was a French pastry each, presented with some fruit. They have a nice cocktail and cocktail menu and we elected to add an espresso mocktini each with this course. Those were on point and I've missed espresso martinis so much since I've largely given up drinking. After all of this came the celebration cake, which either came entirely or just the frozen custard from Tropical Bungalow, a local business. The Tahitian vanilla flavor was just delightful and the frozen custard was a wonderful texture. It was truly such a feast. We ate every bit of the desserts. One thing I appreciated here is that often when a place is known for the experience, the food is beautifully presented but not always plentiful. That is far from the case here, you are not going home hungry. My total bill came to $252, which included the two $95 brunches, the $20 celebration cake and two $14 mocktails. Adding a tip, I was a little over $300, which is a lot but it is a special occasion. We heard folks talking about staying overnight and looked up more information, and found that you can tour the four homes on the property here, two designed by Wright and two by his apprentice. In reviewing the tours I noted that there are package options, with one offering a tour of three of the houses and lunch at Tree Tops for a total of $75 per person (!). This is an incredible value and I think I would take this option next time, as the houses would definitely be worth touring as well. I look forward to my next visit here. read more

The menu items and prices vary by type of meal. For the treehouses, current prices are $95 per person for brunch, $75 per person for lunch, and $150 per person for a 4.5-course dinner, not including drinks, tax, and gratuity. Dining in the non-private restaurant costs slightly less. Customers choose their drinks and main courses, and the chef chooses the appetizers and desserts. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated. My husband and I ate one lunch at Tree Tops. We started with a strawberry-basil cocktail (5 stars) from the full bar, an amuse bouche of feta-red pepper stuffed mushrooms (4 stars), bread with compound butter (4.5 stars), and an appetizer of pita with burrata (3 stars, hard and oily cheese). My main course was salmon with rice (5 stars), which was cooked nicely and was very flavorful. My husband's main course was chicken with carrots and potatoes (3 stars, needed more seasoning). Our dessert was berry creme brûlée (5 stars), which tasted very good. As for the atmosphere, we enjoyed having a private space, being surrounded by trees, seeing deer, and listening to piano recordings. The weather in late May was chilly, but two space heaters and blankets were available to warm us. Wow, every detail covered. What an amazing place located in an amazing place. Lovely decor and surroundings in the woods. The furnishings, the music.... The full ambience set the stage for the incredible high-quality and beautiful presentations of the food. We start off with a delightful dish of brie with Peter slices topped with raspberries and blueberries with a little bit of honey. A very refreshing start a plate for us that we shared on this very hot day. Next, we had the Mediterranean salad and we added grilled chicken to it. It was such a lovely plating presentation that we would gingerly taking the food out of the bowl little by little as to not disturb the way that the chef had prepared the plate. We chose the five course dining experience which included a glass of sparkling wine and tour at the beginning of the experience. It was a beautiful early fall day to visit treetops with a friend for brunch. I loved the soothing sounds of the back ground music while seated in our outdoor tree hut viewing polymath park. We had the option to turn on a heater and lucked out that the temperature wasn't too cold or too hot. The service was top notch. You turn on a residential road wondering if you're sure the GPS is leading you to this hidden retreat. Like other reviews mentioned, you are paying for the experience of dining in an adult treehouse. Thankfully it was a big plus that I quite enjoyed my food and service by Emily was welcoming and informative. We went on a gorgeous warm Saturday day in the middle of September for brunch in one of the private treehouse dining pods. It's a drive from Pittsburgh but you can make a fun-filled day of it by touring the Frank Lloyd Wright (and his apprentice) homes of Polymath Park. Or exploring the beautiful woodlands on public trails in the area for more time enjoying nature and the fresh air. Autumn is the best time in my opinion to visit so book early as it's a popular weekend destination. Tip: GPS navigation avoid unpaved Ridge Road rather take Claypike Road to residential Dillion Road only. read more

My very busy server set a plate of warm bread with truffle butter in front of me with a little smile, as if to say, "wait till you try this!" Oh my goodness! So delicious! Then my chicken Marsala came with grilled veggies and steamed rice. It truly was the best chicken Marsala I've ever tasted! The sauce was spot on, but what put it over the top was the chicken itself: flavorful without being salty, and cooked through but not overly over cooked. It was tender and juicy! Came back for a birthday dinner, dining in the new to us tree house table units. Really a cool concept - your own private treehouse that's protected from bugs and weather, while still delivering one on one service. It was a set menu which we had to pick ahead of time - and came for our reservation a bit early - which is rare. Killed time at the bar and ordered a couple of drinks - mine an old-fashioned. The old-fashioned was very good, and the presentation the smoke on top. We were taken to our tree house and were brought out bread and a watermelon slice compliments of the chef. Bread was really good as I came starving. The next course was a shareable summer plate with burrata - which broke the streak of recent places we have eaten at that have over thought the dish. Here they just allowed the ingredients to take over and it was very good. The next course was a summer salad that came with a honey lavender dressing. The salad was very good but the dressing wasn't my favorite. The main course was a filet with potatoes and carrots. The steak was cooked properly to temp and the sauce served on top was succulent and very good. For dessert, individual servings of a pudding type item was served and was good enough. The Tree Tops Restaurant is an experience like no other! I'm giving this restaurant 5 stars for the experience alone! My husband took me here for my birthday, and it was such a special and wonderful day. You MUST get your own treehouse pod. It's private and perfectly placed in the middle of the woods. Our reservation was from 5 to 7 PM, so we got the best of both worlds. We were able to see the landscape and take pictures in the sun, but we were also able to experience it getting dark as well for a more intimate vibe. As I mentioned, I was celebrating my birthday, so upon entering our treehouse pod, there was a Happy Birthday sign! It was a great extra special touch. The meal contained 5 courses, which included the softest bread I have ever tasted! I also really loved the added touch of the birthday creme brulee! The food was really good and flavorful but nothing auper special. I enjoyed every course, so I can't complain. This restaurant is something that you have to experience at least once. Went here for my birthday lunch. We did the pod experience which is a private treehouse/hut that you and your guests eat at privately. The branch dining experience is the actual restaurant that is inside where you eat with everyone. You must have a reservation to eat here which can be found on their website. We wanted to do dinner but they were booked. After you book your reservation, the restaurant will email you a menu where you pick your entree and tell them of any dietary restrictions. We picked the butternut squash and the salmon power bowl. Lunch is 3 course (appetizer, entree, and dessert). Our entree was delicious it was some kind of cheese with mushrooms on top and pita bread. You are also served a loaf of fresh baked bread with 2 types of butter. Our butter flavors were chives and truffle (so delicious). The butternut squash entree was so good and filling. It came drizzled in some type of oil. It wasn't too sweet and was very tasty! The salmon power bowel was DELICIOUS. The salmon was cooked to perfection and had no bones. The dessert was a cup of crème brûlée. It was rich and sweet but not overwhelming. The staff was so kind. I cant say a bad thing about our server. She was very professional and quick to get us anything we needed. We got a bottle of Riesling and the gin cock tail (empress of the moon). The cocktail was actually tart and aromatic. We got confused on getting here so when we finally arrived we were excited and hungry. I have seen TikTok's showing this place but if the cabins are the teeny tiny ones along the parking lot someone did some trick photography. They have sprays, fragrance scents, essential oils everywhere so much for clean air! Nope what stink are they covering up? And if they sell them put them away in a case not in the restaurant everywhere. I wouldn't call it fine dining, but it was certainly an elevated experience. The good: The restaurant is beautifully located in a canopy of trees and breathtaking architecture. The bad: Food service workers don't need to be ready for the Oscars, but our server Laura could have been clocking out from her night shift at Denny's. Not one effort was made in her appearance. As someone who themselves has worked in fine dining I did find this shocking. She seemed overwhelmed with the amount of tables she had as she was serving the tables around us aswell. From here the review will go course to course amuse bouche- Our singular "gift from the chef" Warm fig with whipped cinnamon butter- This was probably the best offering of the evening and it was a shame nothing matched its caliber. Shared Appetizer- Ahi Tuna Tacos- I want to say that this was a meal served on Halloween night in October... Ahi Tacos seemed beyond bizarre as an offering and is not a local or seasonal offering. They were sloppily thrown together and one had quite a bit more tuna than the other, the fish also was frosty as if it hadn't defrosted properly. After reshuffling we enjoyed our 3 bites and curiously awaited the salad course. Salad- Literally just a run of the mill Ceaser salad. This is when my hopes for the meal went out the window. Wholly unimaginative, basic, and frankly disappointing. Bland and sad. The ugly Entrees- This is where the meal and service became comical. We preordered 2 days in advance per the restaurants policy our Medium Rare Filets with potatoes, veg and Cab Demi-glacé. Both entrees were brought to the table and we were instructed to temp check them. While my fiancés steak was cooked correctly, mine was cooked medium-medium well. Laura promptly took my plate away to have it fixed.... And left my fiancés plate sitting on the table. I have a HUGE issue with this, again with my past working in FD I don't know why she would ever leave a guest without food and let the other parties food sit to get cold or have them eat without their partner. Tree tops- in the future if this is to happen the proper protocol is to take ALL MEALS BACK and serve them TOGETHER. If that means you're recooking both or all meals- that means you're recooking all the meals. This is a $400 dinner. Serve it properly. As we are a couple, we made do by sharing off of my fiancés plate which is horrific in a restaurant of this caliber but we certainly weren't going to leave it to get cold. This could have been a nursing home meal. Not one shake of salt or pepper could have touched this plate. We were able to taste everything in its "purest form" because our first meals weren't served with any Demi-glacé whatsoever, just dry and bland. My meal came out 20 mins later cooked properly but WITH Demi-glacé which Laura clearly saw but made no comment on. I didn't say anything because plate #1 was nearly finished but what a disappointment to know we were served an incomplete dish for the price. The Demi-glacé did improve the flavor slightly but the meal was in a steep decline. During service Laura kept assuring my fiancé that she'd be right back with a water pitcher. That came around dessert, after we'd once again resorted to sharing my glass of water. So 30-40 mins without water refills. Dessert- Dessert was a German cake that Laura couldn't pronounce but made a joke about. I found the joke in about as poor taste as the cake as when you're serving food, it's your job to know what you're serving and say it correctly and proudly. I'm sure the chef would have loved her commentary. The cake itself was horrible, an inedibly dry spice cake with pecan and dried cranberries that looked and tasted like it came from a can. We had ordered coffee with this course thankfully but otherwise we couldn't have even choked down a sample. Cocktails- We ordered a Paloma and an apple butter old fashioned. The Paloma was nice, very standard. The ABOF did taste nice, however it's advertised in the menu and all over your social media that it's smoked table side. As you can imagine my disappointment when Laura meandered in with a basic lowball in hand, no smoke show to be seen. Again, why advertise if you can't deliver? Throw it on the disappointment pile. What a unique experience! We reserved a private treehouse pod for brunch before touring two of the Frank Lloyd Wright houses on the property at Polymath Park. Service was great and we had a good amount of alone time to take in the scenery in our screened-in pod. As it is all screens it was chilly on this 50 degree morning but they had a heat lamp above the table and the chill was work it for the experience! Cucumber water and tasty apple cider mimosas were waiting for us on the table and we were brought coffee upon request. We had no idea what we were getting for brunch so our meals were a surprise when they were brought out. I emailed in advance to let them know I am a vegetarian so they brought my plate without the sausage links. All in all the food was pretty good and it was a lovely setting. A unique experience, where many details were missed. I'll start by saying the grounds and idea behind this place are outstanding. While the staff was extremely nice, they missed significant details that made the experience alittle disappointing. For example, before arriving- guests receive a text asking about food restrictions. Our food restriction was simple- "No Seafood". This restaurant is a "chef's choice menu" meaning, guest are served whatever the chef is cooking- you don't actually get to order from a menu of choices. For the appetizer, we were offered tuna and when the main course came out, we were served salmon (amongst other things that were not seafood). However, because the salmon was sharing a plate with other things, I didn't want to risk eating anything on the plate. Not once did the server or staff acknowledge our food restriction during the entire experience. Aside from that, The food I could eat was very good. Our server, Renee, was extremely sweet and overall did a wonderful job. Other than the minor (but significant) food restriction detail we really appreciated her and thought she was attentive and very kind. While dining, the guests in treehouse next to ours were very loud. This was annoying, but at no fault to the employees. It wasn't until the neighboring guest used the shared pathway connecting our treehouses to smoke cigarettes. I was shocked the employees didn't say anything to them about it, however, I didn't ask whether smoking was actually allowed or not so maybe that's something they allow, but again... for the sake of other guests, it seemed like a poor choice. Overall, the ambiance is incredible and very unique. For that reason I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cool dining experience. read more

It is hard to describe this restaurant. As we did not sit in the dining room. The beauty of the Treetop restaurant is the pod set in the woods. They are amazing So much fun and private. It was a little tricky for us first-timers but completely worth the adventure. The drive from the highway is absolutely breathtaking and you really don't mind the duration, thanks to the scenery. Mountains, wooded forests, winding country roads are the path leading you to find the restaurant and the delight of this beautifully lit, adorned outdoor walkway intoxicates you with the spectacular beauty of nature before your first sip of your cocktail. We arrived a bit early for our reservations but were still seated immediately. The dining area is outfitted with period tables and chairs and most of us were very comfortable. For anyone who has visited a FLW property and longed to sit in one of his infamous mission style straight back dining chairs - you will be in heaven. I wish it was earlier in the day (or season) because the outdoor seating was gorgeous with great views from within the tree tops. No matter where you are seated - it is a very special experience. Our table chose from the seasonal cocktail list: Manhattan, Apple cider mule, Pumpkin pie martini, and a blackberry mule. We chose a starter of roasted peppers with onions and cheese, served with a small loaf of bread glistening with garlic oil. Delectable. For our main course, we each chose from the filet menu. A nice portion of tender beef filet finished one of four ways. We chose 3 portions of Gorgonzola and 1 portion of espresso coated beef with bourbon butter. All ordered medium-rare and all cut beautifully with standard dinner knives. Served with a delicious rice, broccoli rabe, and adorned with edible flowers, a large nod to the connection with nature. We closed out our night with a dessert to share. (Pumpkin cheesecake) This was a great dining experience and a really unique evening. Tips: 1). Plan ahead and make a reservation 2). Excellent wine list 3) the menu is not overwhelming - a few great choices is all anyone really needs whether vegetarian, pescatarian, or meat-eater. There is something for you. 4) arrive early. You are going to want to explore the grounds. I recommend at least 30 minutes. This restaurant is on the property of four FLW homes. Lunch before my Polymath Park tour was delicious. Seeing the Frank Lloyd Wright designed 'treehouses'--really little free-standing enclosed porch rooms amid the trees--up close was also a treat, as is the restaurant decor that Wright would have appreciated. This is a hard one to review. It is definitely a five stat in terms of ambiance and service, but for the price, the food quality was a bit lacking. We did one of the combination toor and tree house pod dinners. They did ask if we had any allergies or restrictions so I indicated that I didn't like tomatoes. Our tour was informative and really cool to be up and close in Wright and Wright Protégé. The one downside is that although our guide knew her stuff about the specific houses she admitted she was there because it was a job close to home rather than being a Wright super fan (which is the kind of docent I'm used to experiencing). When we returned from the tour (which was escorted around via a shuttle bus) we were guided to our private pods. My husband has mentioned that it was my birthday when he booked so there was a nice happy birthday sign greeting us. It was also a bit of a chilly, rainy day so they had blanket for us on the chairs (along with the heaters in the pods). The meal included your choice of either red or white wine. The server explained each course as it was brought out and presented everything in a very professional and upscale way. She also shared a lot about the history of the property and restaurant. She seemed to know a lot more than our guide. The amuse bouche, salad and appetizer courses were pretty good but the only thing that wowed me was the soup. The pulled pork sliders were ok but nothing unique. The soup was served on a plate with a salad basically on a skewer. It was a fun and unique presentation. The soup was very fresh tasting and the salad dressing was full of flavor. The entree wasn't bad, per se, but almost reminded me of hotel or banquet food. We enjoyed a tour and Tree House dining experience. And that it was! Fantastic ambiance - dining 'outside' in the treehouse, remote enough to just enjoy nature along with a superb Chef's choice. We did the lunch tour at Polymath Park. It's 2.5 hours long and includes a tour of the Mantyla House, the Duncan House, and Peter Berndtson's Balter House - and, of course, lunch at TreeTops. (You have lunch first and then walk over to a shuttle bus that drives you to the three houses.) When you book the lunch tour, you are given a very limited, set menu to choose from, which includes an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. The appetizer was more of a single bite, amuse bouche, but it was fine. The entree options were just a salad with tuna salad, chicken salad, or roasted veggies. I got the chicken salad and thought it was a pretty good version of what it was. My husband hates all mayo-based "salads" (tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad), so his only option was the roasted vegetable salad. It was fine but it felt like one of those throw away dishes a restaurant has on the menu for vegetarians or vegans. The dessert was fine, a peach bar. We saw (and smelled) some of the food that people were ordering who hadn't booked the lunch tour and were able to order from the whole menu. The rest of the menu looked (and smelled) much more delicious than what was offered the limited set menu for the lunch tour! I imagine this is because they need to offer something that is very quick to make since they have to ensure that you have eaten and paid within an hour so you can get on your tour. However, I recommend arriving earlier and ordering off the regular menu and then going on the Wright House collection tour. (You will miss the Berndtson house tour, but it wasn't the highlight of Polymath for me, and I think leisurely lunch at TreeTops followed by the two-house tour is the way to go!) The patio is lovely, but the inside feels a bit dated. Definitely enjoy the patio if the weather is nice! The service was fine. Overall, the food on this visit was a little underwhelming. However, I'd like to return to Polymath Park in the future to see how it expands and changes. And I'd definitely eat at TreeTops again - but I'd like to order off the full menu next time! read more

Beyond exceptional! We enjoyed the mushroom soup along with a cooked shrimp that taste like lobster not shrimp that's how tender it was. We watched dish after dish with Beyond curiosity at our table next to us and every morsel looked delicious. Can't wait to return for a more in depth eating event. read more

The setting is BEAUTIFUL and what they're doing there is incredibly important but the food is not worth what they charge for it. Our gnocchi was gummy, underseasoned, and overcooked. The filet I ordered medium rare was medium to medium well. The salad was pretentious and nothing special, grocery store spring mix with tiny grocery store tomatoes. The dessert was executed very badly. All the portions were tiny. The concept is great but maybe they should concentrate on getting the food right before charging for high end prix fixe. Three stars just for the mission and FLW. Zero stars for the food. Also, it's one of those annoying situations where they take everything so personally and fall all over themselves apologizing to the point you feel bad about saying anything even though you're literally paying $300+ for a meal and you should damn well feel like you're getting what you were promised. Service was excellent, just a bit too obsequious. To the restaurant, PERFECT THE FOOD FIRST. You're on the right track but you're not there yet and your patrons shouldn't leave feeling guilty for not liking the panna cotta. read more

The atmosphere is truly spectacular! The tree houses are cute and make for a really unique experience. However- for what you pay the quality of the food is not there. The food reminded me of something I would be served at a wedding. Not bad- but for an over $450 dinner for 2 people, I had higher expectations. Nothing unique or imaginative. The place is beautiful. I was thinking we would get more of a solitary experience but it felt more like dining on a really nice balcony high up in the trees. The food was great. In the expensive side so it's a nice treat for a special occasion. read more

5 for experience and ambiance 3 for food and price We had our anniversary dinner in one of the pod treehouses and it was so charming. I would love to see it in the daylight but in the evening it was truly magical. Soft music, warm blankets and a quiet and romantic atmosphere was perfect. Even the waitress spoke in soft and calming tones. It really was a special experience The food is just ok. We did the 5 course and you only choose the main entree. One of the courses was a truffled rice. It was literally just a spoonful. But it was good. The "salad" was a piece of lettuce and the Cauliflower soup was in a ramekin. My husband filet was just ok. I had the seafood trio and again it was average at best. The dessert was good. We ended up snaking a ton when we got home as after 5 tiny courses and a few drinks we were still pretty hungry which honestly is a shame at $150 a person. I'd say it's a must try just for the ambiance alone but know going into it that the portions are tiny and you can get way better food at other restaurants read more
