Beautiful day, and a lovely place to dine.
    Phyllis H.

This restaurant has plenty of parking and a beautiful outdoor dining area. The interior looked okay, but we only passed through it, so I didn't see much of it. The food was very delicious, and the prices were good. Our orders were prepared quickly, and the portions were generous. The servers were both very attentive and friendly. They answered all of our questions (someone in our party had a LOT of questions) and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. This location is near Fort Ligonier and also a state park/forest. It's not too far from Idlewild, either. So we will likely return to this establishment again after we finish visiting one of those places!

Don't pass on the wings. They are $1 each on Wednesday.

Was staying at a vacation rental near by. Stopped for lunch to have their one dollar wing special on Wednesday. Delicious meaty wings. I highly recommend this place. Lots of good looking choices on the menu.

Forks Inn has been on my to try list for a while. Driving past this on multiple occasions but never having a chance to stop in, until recently. I have been on a quest to try new places around me and have been looking them up on Yelp. Yelp affords me the opportunity to not only view reviews, but pictures of the food and interior. Mostly the food. As describes in the name, Forks Inn is located at a fork in the road. I would like to state at this point that they really missed the opportunity to have an actual fork in the road out in front of this place. Just saying, maybe look into it. When showing up don't let the place fool you that parking is sparse. Majority of the parking is located behind the business. This place offers a patio/deck area for outdoor seating in the warmer weather. During the cooler months the do enclose it which allows for more tables to be served. The outdoor patio/deck looks like just about any other that you can come across. It is nice, and I believe they do have events on it throughout the year. The interior of this place looks like a lodge with all the natural wood, high tables, and bar. Service here was quick, like really quick. I sat down and an employee was there to see if I wanted to place a drink order. That was placed and I looked over the menu. When the server returned I was ready to place my order. For an appetizer I ordered the Fried Green Beans. This comes with a side or Ranch Dressing, naturally. The green beans were amazing. The breading was reminiscing of the breading you find on really good chicken strips. That was the crunch for this, but I swear that the green beans encased were the freshest green beans I have had in a while. Definitely a good way to start off the meal. For my main course I went with the Bubba Burger. All burgers are a half pound. This one is topped bacon, cheddar, and barbecue sauce. It is a big burger. The meat to bun ratio was spot on and I had to cut it in half to tackle it. I was happy that the server had the intuition to bring extra napkins. There was nothing clean or easy about eating this burger. It was a drippy mess. But the flavor combinations were there and had med devouring that thing in no time. Do I really need to speak to the side for this burger? No. But will I? YES! Fresh cut fries. Of course I am going to talk about fresh cut fries. I love fresh cut fries. Fresh cut fries...I just felt like I needed to say that one more time. Well, I do love me a good potato anyway it can be made and I was happy to see it in the fresh fry variety here. It kind of missed the spot a little. I felt as if they left them in the fryer a little too long. Some of the fries were over fried. Kind of a let down since, and I am being honest here, I was really looking forward to the fries. But as an overall experience it was great. I will definitely come back and hope for a better batch of fries.

3.5 stars! Great service and very cute restaurant. Wings were $1 a wing on Wednesday wing night. I think the wings are lightly battered and they are good sized. Not a lot of sauces to choose from but had the standards. Wings were good, cooked well. Loved the home made horseradish sauce, fried green beans were solid. Pretzels a little well done and not a huge fan of beer cheese but it was fine. The loser of the meal for our table were the fries. Our party of 4 nobody liked them, thick and seasoned just none of us were a fan.

The food the service the atmosphere is absolutely spot on ! I'd give it more then five stars if I could! We just recently moved to the area and have ate here several times now and have got to know all the wait staff really well they treat you like family. Sarah the cook is phenomenal! All the food comes out piping hot and fresh. The selection is fabulous. Portions are very generous. The steak melts in your mouth. And there are specials every day. My husband said their fried chicken special is the best he's ever had and wants it put permanently on the menu lol he couldn't stop raving about it. Atmosphere is very family friendly lots of seating. Bands play outside in the summer in the outdoor deck / bar. Gets extremely busy so we've heard. The pizza is great and so are the wings I love their crust it's light golden and the perogie pizza is one of my favs. And desserts well you just have to make room it's all good! All in all you couldn't ask for a better place to eat and prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is super clean the girls work hard to keep it that way! Plenty of parking but in the summer I recommend getting there early..

This is an updated review. Today, we returned here (but I forgot to checkin) for a nice lunch with family. Again, I can't complain about the portions or price of the food. I had the spaghetti special for only $4.50. It included the house salad and garlic bread. Husband ordered a Reuben sandwich with homemade fries. It was so big, he had to take half home. On a whim, he thought he'd try the strawberry short cake dessert. We were surprised how good and huge it was. (See photo) All in all, a very nice afternoon touching base with family over good food. It was nice that the server didn't mind us lingering over dessert and coffee. This is a local place with lots of patrons stopping in for a meal, snack or adult beverage in the bar. No pretentious nonsense. The restrooms are marked "Outhouse." Our server was very friendly and attentive.

The food is consistently tasty, and the outdoor deck with live music is fun and relaxing. One of our favorites in town!

A cup of very good tomato soup served in a large bowl made for a pretty plate but was not a large portion by any stretch of the imagination. I get it, but I should have gone with the grilled cheese sandwich which comes with tomato soup for $7 more. Others portions were large and everyone enjoyed their meals. Our server was very good and the place has a cozy feel to it. I just wish they'd upgrade the restroom from a oner. Since we were in Ligonier strolling through the Ice Fest, we decided to warm up with some beverages. I had Irish coffee and my daughter had the bourbon espresso cream. Both were very good and did the trick to warm us up!

I'm not really sure where to start with this review…read more While visiting, some lovely locals recommended to try the Kitchen on Main as a good lunch or dinner spot. On the outside, you're greeted with plenty of outdoor patio seating in front of the restaurant and live music from an artist playing tunes. Inside is a spacious bar, lounge and woodsy interior with another room with tables and larger party seating. Since we had a little one with us, we thought more fitting to sit outside, watch the horses and carriages pass and enjoy the fresh air. We were told by the hosts that the seating in the front, though unoccupied, wasn't available, but the tables on the side (which I thought were for storage as they weren't set, cleaned or too presentable looking) were. Although a bit confused by that note, we decided to sit outside. It seemed that there was only one server working the outside area as we saw her hastily going back and forth. We were sat at 5:35pm or so. After about 10 minutes, she took our drink orders and 10 minutes later we then ordered our food. We got the drink we ordered then patiently awaited our food. A little after 6:05p, it started to sprinkle with rain outside. If you know PA, the rain can come down hard and heavy, quick. We asked our server if they had other seating available who went to check. As we were sitting on the side of the building - in an uncovered area - we went inside around 6:15p to ask if there was other seating available. Surely a rain soaked toddler and water ruined food isn't the best look for a restaurant serving its guests.. Both the younger lady hosts and a man (not sure his relation to this restaurant), John, seemed a bit perplexed by our request. He then proceeded to advise that the umbrella-covered seating in the front of the restaurant wasn't available, pulls his phone out to check the weather, notes that it doesn't say it's raining, but instead says "yeah, I don't know what that is, maybe it's a neighbor spraying a hose nearby" (while another employee says "I see the rain on the window in front of us") and doesn't really provide any solution for us to sit so we go back outside. Very confused by that interaction, when we saw our server next, we told her that we would be leaving and we'll pay the check for the one drink we ordered. Another girl came out and apologized, saying she wasn't sure why they wouldn't let us sit inside or anywhere else and proceeded to take us to a table inside. Our now hangry and somewhat sprinkled on toddler got her food, noodles with butter, at 6:20p and we got our dishes at 6:30p. The food looked decent though I can't comment on its flavor and taste of our meals as I had no appetite then. I don't know who would want to enjoy a meal there after that interaction. No apology or conversation from a manager was ever had, no items removed from the bill or a complimentary item provided to make up for the poor experience. We didn't eat much as we were quite off put but paid the bill in full. I still have no idea who the "John" guy is and what purpose he may serve there aside from the blatant disregard of guest's concerns and a poor example set in front of the younger employees. Our server and some of the other runner girls were kind, so I don't think customer service and general decency as a human is lacking from this town but this experience and this specific restaurant left that unfortunate impression. If he or they didn't want us there, I surely would have appreciated the honesty so we could spend our money and celebrate Father's Day weekend elsewhere. I don't plan on coming back and only Yelp members don't visit either. If I could tell you to avoid this restaurant at all costs, I would.

Anyone who regularly travels the Pennsylvania Turnpike knows how hard it is to find a truly memorable place to eat. This one is absolutely worth the short detour. The atmosphere is charming, the view is beautiful, and the food exceeded every expectation. We had to try their famous mushroom soup, and even though I'm not normally a mushroom fan, it was hands-down one of the best cups of soup I've ever had. The smoked salmon salad was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon Sandwich special, and every bite was packed with incredible flavor. Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She made us feel right at home and added to what was already a wonderful dining experience. We finished with the Bananas Foster. After an extremely long sixteen hour shift at work I knew I needed one thing before I headed home…read moreand slept for a majority of the day. That one day was a greasy, heavy breakfast. Something that would sit in my stomach and make me feel satisfied. Quick search on Yelp to find a diner like setting for such and this was the nearest to where I was at that point in my commute. Keystone Kitchen sits in a plaza off of Route 22 in New Alexandria, from the outside it doesn't look like much. Once you go inside it looks like a country cabin diner, if that makes sense. The sounds in here are those of a diner and the smells are that of a diner. However, what is different is the decor. Kind of like a hunting cabin with the wood decor that is everywhere. The tables and booths were well used, making me know that this place is well liked and frequented enough to make it a local staple. When I came in I was greeted right away and told I could sit wherever I wanted. Shortly after finding a seat I had a menu in hand and a drink order placed. I was left to look over the menu. At the time of the visit I got to look over the breakfast menu. I was especially craving biscuits and gravy. My mind just kept telling me that and I was going to just order a combo with that as a side. That is until I made myself look over the menu one more time. That's when I spot the number 5 combo breakfast meal. That combo would give me everything that I needed at that moment in time. The number five combo is two eggs cooked they way you like, choice of either breakfast potatoes or hash browns, and the biscuit and gravy I was craving. I went with two dippy eggs (that's sunny side up for you non-western Pennsylvanians) and hash browns to accompany my biscuit and gravy. When it showed up in front of me, I couldn't wait to dig into that plate. I didn't know it, but I was starving. The eggs were perfect, cut into them and the yolks started running all over the plate, that was perfect to me. The hash browns had that outer crust on them that gave you the crunch and the inner parts were that warm potato that just hits you. Best part about it is that you can mix them with either the runny egg yolk or the extra gravy that definitely spilled over from the biscuit. The biscuit and gravy, oh my god, amazing. The biscuit is made in house which means they are fresh and tasty. The gravy has this sweet and savory mix going for it. The pieces of sausage in the gravy are amazing little pops of flavor. Little bit of spice in there, but everything balances out. It really livens up the dryness of the biscuit. This meal was what I set out for, satisfying. The service here, way above the bar. I mean there is great service and then there is Keystone Kitchen. Very attentive, interacting with everyone in here, letting you know who the regulars are, and very on top of their game. I really enjoyed the meal, it hit the spot and definitely put me to sleep when I finally did home for morning.
