Menu provided a board selection and included kids options. Two decided on the breakfast special - eggs, pancakes and bacon. Portions were large and food was served hot from the kitchen. The other two adults had French toast and biscuits and gravy. French toast serving was modest and short on syrup. Biscuits really was biscuit. Gravy was lacking flavor. Sausage patties came with both orders. Kids meals were pasta and pizza, again nothing special. Bottom line ... the place is very nice. It's large and open to outside lighting. Service was good, no complaints there, but the food lacked flavor and originality. We will return and test the menu further.

We have been here a few times over the years and always enjoyed the food, and friendly fast service…read more. This particular morning we stopped off for breakfast on our way out of town. I, as usual, had to take half my meal out. They accommodated me with plastic utensils and napkins for my road trip. I had the ribeye steak with scrambled eggs, hash browns with onion and cheese and sour dough toast. The steak looked a little odd probably Ky because it was thin but it tasted good and was tender. I had enough steak for a sandwich with the sourdough toast, adding some steak sauce, and a third of the steak to eat on its own. One thing I really appreciate is that they don't add salt to their food. Whenever I can add a touch of my own salt to a meal vs the first bite being too salty is a win in my eyes. My husband had the meat skillet with a pancake and eggs over easy. He had me taste his pancake, which was delicious. Sometimes pancakes can be too sweet before adding syrup but this one was just right, nice and fluffy too. He enjoyed his skilled but had asked for habanero how sauce and squirted a bit too much on his skillet. Not enough to burn his mouth but enough to make his nose run. Service was friendly and the food came out fast. I recall having takeout of broasted chicken and have eaten dinners of fish and burgers and had the same experience with great, fast and friendly service and delicious food.

Weirdest name for a restaurant with some of the best food in town!…read more I've been to Mother's Day Restaurant a few times now, as I frequently travel to this area. What a great place! When you walk in, you are truly walking in to a family diner that oozes of home cooked goodness. Food cooked to order that is delicious every single time. My personal favorite, as I've been there for lunch a few times, is the BLT. Sounds simple, right? I love a good BLT. Simple by design yet some places still manage to screw it up. Not Mother's Day. They got it right on target. Perfectly toasted bread. Crispy crunch salty bacon-y bacon. Crisp fresh lettuce and a perfectly ripe tomato to balance it all out. Can you taste it? I want it.....now! The servers at Mother's Day are about the friendliest group of people you will ever encounter in your life. Guaranteed. Anyone that says any different needs to look in the mirror. Always attentive, friendly and helpful. When you walk in, you'll notice the bakery case. Pastries, cakes, pies....whatever is fresh and in house that day. On my last visit, I noticed the carrot cake in the case. So I asked about it and was assured that it was incredible. Well, good luck cramming down a piece of anything after you finish your meal at Mother's Day. Did you say, to-go? I'm listening.... They sold me on the carrot cake and guaranteed that it was amazing. So, later that evening, I confirmed their words and that carrot cake, was in fact........AMAZING! Would I go back? There's not a lot in this particular area in Horicon, WI. But that's the beauty and the secret of Mother's Day. You don't need anywhere else. You could put 2 or 3 fast food junk chain restaurants all on the same block and I'd never even notice them, fully knowing that there is a gem of a restaurant called Mother's Day just waiting to serve up some delicious home cooked food.

We had the aviation which was really good. A light, well balanced cocktail. Two people had the boombalatty and they enjoyed it. Two of us the special of the day which was a cheese ravioli. They were able to accommodate a chicken allergy and make it with vegetable stock for me which was great. The sauce was delicious as was the shrimp on it. The chicken breast entree got good reviews from my SIL. Husband had the burger and he enjoyed it. He had the side salad with it and he did mention it could have been dressed a bit more. And then our DIL got the arancini as a meal and that is mentioned above. We finished off with crème brûlée. That was excellent. The ambiance is nice and comfortable. Wasn't too loud which i appreciate. Highly recommend.

It is an amazing balance of feeling like you are eating a home cooked meal but made with care and skilled execution, and in a welcoming yet nicely curated environment. We have tried most of the menu at this point, from the salmon to the burger to the pasta, and all have been delicious. We usually end the meal with the creme brulee and flourless chocolate cake, which are both such a nice cap to the meal. The cocktails are fun and rotate with the season. The service is warm and professional. You may want to make a reservation as they are often busy. So lucky to have this gem of an option in Stoughton!
