Easy Smog is the place to go to for a smog check in Torrance! The employees are super nice, the prices are very good and (assuming you have no issues) the process is under 15 minutes! Additionally, if you live near them, they give you a "neighbor" discount. Feel free to ask about it. I can't recommend this place enough for your smog checks. Granted, my cars have always passed the test, so I can't vouch for service/etc when your car doesn't. The tech doesn't know what he's talking about. He couldn't find my numbers on my catalytic converter. But another shop found it right away. And I had paperwork proof that it wasn't tampered with so I took it to another smog shop and showed them the proof and he smogged it right away and passed. I brought my car in because I had not been able to pass the smog check due to a couple of sensors not "being ready." Taik did a quick visual check followed by connecting a device to identify which sensors were causing the issue. He then explained what he believed the issue to be. He then priced the parts and gave me a 'worst case' scenario price. I dropped my car off a couple days later and had it back six hours later. The final cost was less than half of what he initially quoted me. This included the smog and certificate fee. I have never had an issue with my regular shop and mechanic, but Taik was able to hit the nail on the head when my regular guy couldn't pinpoint the issue. This is an honest and very capable shop... I had a '99 Toyota Corolla that had failed the smog test badly and was considered a gross polluter. I initially took the car to a basic car repair shop. After 3 days and $120 they informed me everything checked out ok and they thought it was the injectors. I decided to stop the bleeding and take the car to Easy Smog. After speaking with Taik I let him diagnose the problem. By the next day he determined it needed an 02 sensor and new catalytic converter. He proceeded with the repair and the car passed the smog test easily. Taik is friendly, honest and extremely knowledgeable in his business. Took my2006 diesel 2500HD chevy truck to get a smog check here. He did not know how to smog a diesel, he wasted my time making me wait 30 min. Didn't start any paperwork with the DMV just looked under my hood and then told me I could not pass the California smog I asked him why and he said the truck smokes, so I asked him to show me the smoke, he could not make it smoke, then told me I have to get it fixed and bring it back. So I went down the road and the next California smog station I came to passed my truck and said its fine, does not smoke at all. Over the years I've been to a lot of places. I thought I was getting great service at Fletcher Jones in Newport until I got tired of financing the espresso machine and realized the mechanics were on commission. With my other car, I bounced around different auto shops trying to find the ellusive one place that was IT. None have been as consistent and attentive to serving the customer as Easy Smog. Not only do they analyze and repair the problem correctly, but ALWAYS in the most cost effective manner. Let me explain, it seems that when you walk in to other garages (dealers or independents), the shop sees you as an atm machine and will milk you on every possible item. That will never happen to you at Easy. Also, as a non auto-head, I appreciate how they will explain exactly what needs to be done and allow me to make an informed decision. My Honda wagon has 445,000 miles and 3/4 of it are credited to Taik and Oscar. I've been bringing my cars here since 2005 and will never go anywhere else.
