When we arrived at the property we walked into water all over the tile floors and water coming out of a large crack in the ceiling in one of the bedrooms. We called the property manager and were told to send photos via text to a different number. We sent them immediately along with a video and then after we didn't hear back from them after almost an hour (not even a response to the photo's and videos) we called back and were told they would provide a follow-up shortly. They messaged us back at 10 p.m (over two hours later) and asked us to mop up the water with the towels in the condo (by the way, water is still coming out of the ceiling) and they would bring new towels in the morning. So we spent the first three hours of our vacation mopping up water and drying the wet bedding caused by water dripping onto it from the ceiling leak. (The water was apparently from a leak two floors above that they were already aware of). To say the customer service was horrible is a complete understatement. We booked this condo because the listing advertised its close proximity to the beach (directly across the street) "with beach access". There is beach access for Harbor Landing owners and guests, however this particular property (601A) does not provide it. After messaging the property management multiple times requesting the code or key card to access the beach, they finally responded saying that the "beach access" provided by this unit was a public beach four miles away from the property. We talked to several other guests at this same condo complex (Harbor Landing) who said they were provided access to the beach directly across the street (along with boogie boards, floatation devices, wagons, et). If we had known we would have to pack up our stuff and drive four miles to access the beach we would never have stayed in this unit. I would think there has to be some sort of rules against false advertising. Anyways, we have stayed at so many timeshare properties in the last 20 years and this was the most ill equipped property we have ever stayed at: one kitchen hand towel, one sponge, no hot pads, no paper towels, no dish cloths, not even salt and pepper.... If you wanted to cook in the room you would need to buy all the basic staples just to do so. And finally after spending the first 2+ hours of our vacation dealing with the water issue, when we asked to check out at 10:00 instead of 9:00 (which is ridiculous ) on the day of check-out - the response was a big NO. Harbor Landing is a wonderful complex - just don't book unit 601A.

Right in the middle of everything, with great restos all around, and right across the street from the beach. You get private beach access as well which is great for an uncrowded beautiful beach even during peak season. This review is for unit 504A. The views from this unit are incredible. This is a very large 3 bedroom unit. A large porch off the back has beautiful views right on Destin Harbor, which is great day and night. You can watch the swallow marsh area where fish are chasing fish, birds are catching them all, and the occasional dolphins in the deeper section. You can also watch the boats come in and out which is peaceful. Harbor Landing does have boat slips, as well as a grilling area right off the docks. The back porch also wraps around for a nice Gulf view. A second large porch is off one of the bedrooms in the front with another great Gulf view. This is a newer, modern building with a very nice pool area as well, which is a lap pool. Fitness center and hot tubs. All the bedrooms are large with private baths in each (jacuzzi in master), as well as a 4th bath in the front hall. The kitchen opens up into the dining/living area which is one huge open floor plan. The kitchen bar seats 5, and a large dining table seats 8 easily. A nice comfortable patio set to relax on as well. Granite/stainless throughout, tiled floors, wash/dry, dishwasher and stereo. This condo is equipped with wireless for your computer, flat panel Samsung and LG TVs with DVD players in each bedroom as well as a larger one in the main living area. Enjoy Destin from this unit!

We use the hide a bed and have returned every year with our sons and their friends. Outside from sun rise to sunset you have the most remarkable views. Great restaurants are footsteps away. The beach is just across the street and visible from every back deck. A diving reef and activity (walking, biking, roller blading) trail just outside your sliding glass door. Yep we will return again, again and again.

Blue Surf Unit #2: Reservation: Always easy with VRBO…read more(simply pick your time if it's available) Communication: Owners will say that messaging on VRBO is not their preferred method of communication. Location: Excellent spot next to the public beach and Pompano Joe's--this is our fifth stay at Blue Surf! Blinds: There have been many negative comments about this issue already! A street light kept us awake all night in the upstairs bedroom (resulting in poor sleep), and downstairs lacks privacy (a bit unsettling). Additionally, there are missing slats in the living room blinds, all of which really affects sleep quality and personal privacy (spoils a vacation). Wi-Fi: Upstairs, where we use the internet most, the connection is terrible. The signal is weak throughout the unit. Consider upgrading the Wi-Fi or relocating the modem upstairs. Carpets: The carpets are very old and stained. A thorough steam clean would be a good idea. Stairs: There's a hole in the wall near the stairs, covered only by a flimsy plastic plate--not very classy. TV: The TV in the upstairs bedroom doesn't work well; cable service is spotty. Stationary: There were no facial tissues provided, and we found there wasn't enough toilet paper. Outside Hose: Other units have hoses for cleaning feet and beach items, which could help preserve the carpets. Unfortunately, our unit was missing this amenity. Additional Fan: The extra fan provided didn't work properly; the motor was loose in the frame, making it unsafe to use. Extras: This unit is quite basic, lacking any worthwhile extras. Some units offer snacks and toiletries, but here we found rubber bracelets instead. Bathrooms: Seemed semi-remodeled but towel rack upstairs was falling out of wall and upstairs bathroom floor had low spots/flex. Downstairs faucet was pouring water too close to rear of sink making even washing hands awkward. Other Blue Surf units we've stayed at which were way better: #4, #9, and #12.

On top of that, I like to be ON the beach, not across the street from the beach. Nevertheless, our third floor condo at the Amalfi resort was a very pleasant stay, indeed. It was clean, gorgeous, roomy. I didn't feel like I was in a condo at all. On top of that, we had easy access to the beach, and we're overlooking the pools. The pools were pretty nice too. One was heated and one was... which made things interesting for Florida winter swimming... Honestly, they really have some great deals here.

Beach chairs can be delivered to public access which is maybe an additional 2 min walk. Very clean neighborhood. Well maintained landscaping and roads. We had a very disappointing experience at this property due to multiple issues throughout our stay…read more Upon arrival, our original unit had no water, which is a basic necessity and significantly disrupted the start of our trip. We were moved to a substitute unit, but that unit had its own problems, including a smoke detector without batteries that was actively beeping (a safety concern), a large stain on the bed, and clothing left behind hanging on the bathroom door. Once the water issue was resolved, we returned to our original unit, only to find that the oven was not working. There was also no toaster provided until we specifically requested one. In addition, there was active construction happening during our stay, which we were not informed about in advance. We were told an attempt had been made to contact us, but we did not receive any call or voicemail. While a partial refund was issued, it did not even amount to the cost of one night's stay and did not reflect the number or severity of the issues encountered. We were also told that the cost of repairing the water heater was a factor in the compensation offered, which does not seem appropriate, as maintaining functional appliances is the responsibility of the property owner. Overall, the combination of utility outages, safety concerns, cleanliness issues, missing or non-functioning amenities, and lack of communication made this a frustrating experience. We would recommend confirming the condition of the unit and any ongoing work before booking.
