They were polite and very knowledgeable of what I needed for obtaining my NY CDL A license. I viewed all the videos they offered in my 15 hour package and was able to collect key notes from those videos. Junior is a superstar! Additionally, I was able to schedule 6 consecutive days of training from 2 to 3 hours a day and schedule my road test on the 7th day with the DMV with E-Z Wheels tractor trailer. This is something most schools do not offer which I know from experience. While training at the yard and on the road, I had 4 different instructors, all who were patient and well experienced with great tips. However one instructor, Chris, had a style that positively impacted my learning experience the most. He was attentive and consistently called out what I was doing right and what I was doing wrong. His tips are worth gold!! I am someone who never stepped foot into a tractor and to now all of sudden perform double clutching on the road and drive in traffic within Elizabeth without failure. Chris talked the fear out of me and is the reason why I PASSED my CDL A road test on the 7th day. I am forever grateful the knowledge Chris shared, his patience, and professionalism. While everyone learns faster or longer then others, I can ensure if you are 100% committed to obtaining your CDL, E-Z Wheels will provide everything you need to pass your road test. Trash, thats the easiest way to describe this place…read more Lets start with day one. I approach the office interested in the 5hr class and signing up for some classes. The (short, small framed) guy, whose name escapes me refused to open the door until I pressed the buzzer. Mind you we both saw each other, made eye contact and all but he wanted me to press the buzzer because "thats what its for". I didn't let this bother me because I was on a mission to get my license. After paying for the classes I was informed that they were out of receipt paper and asked if I would accept a handwritten one. Using what little street smarts I have I refused and stretched my hand out to retrieve my money. Only to be met with, "i was just joking we have a couple left, ha ha ha." (Wasn't funny to me either) While waiting for the class to start the two owners were discussing what they are gonna spend their share of the money I just paid them on. Again I ignored their lack of professionalism because I was on a mission to get my license. Fast forward to the practice driving itself I met one of the owners again and also learned a lot about his personal life. TMI doesn't begin to cover the things I heard and didn't want to know. This guy was the epitome of unprofessional and womanizing. LADIES STAY AWAY FROM DERICK. Day of the road test came and I'm next in line, sitting at the wheel of their car (part of the package I purchased) and the proctor asked me to turn the car off, and step out. WHAT THE HELL? DID I FAIL ALREADY? Nope. I was asked to exit the car because my road test had been canceled by someone online. I immediately called NL Driving School to rip those guys a new one but the guy on the phone was immediately on the defensive when I asked, "when was my road test scheduled for?" This jerk refused to accept that he the ball despite the fact that his office (and only his office) was responsible for scheduling my road test. Oh yea did I mention I missed a class (at Brooklyn College) to take this effn road test? Long story short I didnt take my test that day and went to another school. NL Auto Club, NL Driving School or whatever else they call themselves is a complete waste of time. FYI the two owners split. One remains at NL where he plays games with peoples money and time while he skimps on the professionalism. Derick opened up his own school called Mr. Derick Driving School. They ONLY ACCEPT CASH....if you didn't come to this conclusion already.

A bit of a mixed experience…read more I bought a package deal with this auto school that included 6 lessons plus car for road test for $242 (single lessons are $33/45 min). I also took the DMV 5 hour class here. My instructor, Mr. James, was nothing short of phenomenal. Very patient, courteous, and full of useful suggestions, he painstakingly taught me how to do things I've been doing for 25 years[1] differently. That is, the way the examiner wants you to do them. If you follow what Mr. James says, you WILL get your license. Mr. Jean, the business owner and instructor for the DMV 5 hour class, was also very good. I mean: he must have given that class a gazillion times, and still he managed to show some enthusiasm, if not passion, about his work. Moreover he spent quite some time at the end of the class to answer any questions the students might have had regarding the road test. The problems are with Maggie, the person from the office you have to deal with to book lessons, the road test, etc... Here are a few examples: 1) When I booked the first driving lesson, Maggie did not tell me that I was supposed to pay half of the package deal at the first class, cash. Luckily, I had enough cash with me that day to pay that at least in part in part. Equally, I wasn't told that I was supposed to pay the remaining of the package deal by the third class, again in cash. This is not a minor detail, since if you haven't paid in full, in cash, by the third lesson, they will not consider that a package deal any more. So, it would be nice if they actually said all these things upfront when I called the first time. 2) I had to leave the country for 3 weeks in between lessons; making a reservation 3-4weeks in advance turned out to be a major, major issue. Apparently generating the lesson calendar/schedule for the following month is extremely hard. Just as hard it was to schedule the road test 4 weeks in advance[2]. 3) One time Mr. James had to cancel a class, but Maggie never called me to let me know. 4) Maggie was supposed to call me the evening before the road test, but she never did. In fact, every single time Maggie told me she would call me back she never did. I ended up calling Mr. James myself, and made arrangements for the road test directly with him. 2.5 stars; rounded up to 3 since in the end I got the license. --------------------------------------- [1] I have a European driving license, and been driving manual transmission cars all my life. [2] This is particularly puzzling since Mr. Jean told us during the 5 hour class that the waiting list for a road test was 4-6 weeks, and we had to book the test immediately.

Any other site knows that happens that you might forget what you put for your favorite color. They are a scam, customer service is a joke. Ashley and Hein offered no solution, no refund, no promo code for a retake exam - NOTHING. I had to call the owner's law office (Jay Bhatt) and leave a message. I had to file State complaint reports for consumer complaints due to the nature of how they handled the situation and the setup of their site. RUN - RUN - RUN.
