I just hate doing it, so I bring all my shirts to Piasa Cleaners. When you bring in 15 or more pieces for laundry or dry cleaning you get a 10% discount. With the quantity of shirts I bring in at a time, that is easily accomplished. I separate all my shirts by care, linen gets dry cleaned and some shirts get starch and others don't. They don't mind that I have different needs and wants for my shirts. On occasion, I have brought in my Dockers and had them cleaned and pressed. Best of all, they starch jeans and when I lived in STL it was hard to find a dry cleaners who would. I don't do it often, but there are times I like a starched pair of jeans. There were no helpful attendants, just one young woman, for whom you had to ring a bell and then patiently wait for her to appear. I just wanted to know which washer was big enough to handle my heavy runner... Anyway, I loaded a big washer, put in my money and detergent, and waited till it stopped spinning. It was the middle of a Monday afternoon and there were only three other customers. The Jerry Springer Show was blasting on the TV. There were numerous signs saying you had to wear a mask and to wait for your laundry to finish in your car, but no one was paying attention and the attendant was the only one without a mask. This place has a by-the-pound dry cleaning machine, which I'd never seen before. I'll try it out when winter's over and it's time to dry clean sweaters and coats but I think I'll go elsewhere for heavy laundry loads. There is no free dryer use here, like others I've been to.
