I was contacted by the owners daughter,Michelle, who apologized profusely and was adamant about making it right. I explained how disappointed I was because when I dropped off the garments, there was no mention about having to replace the fabric of the belt loops or completely altering the back of the skirt where the zipper was. She asked what she could do to make it right. I could tell she really cares about her business and customers, as well as the quality of work they produce. I explained that there wasn't much because of how altered they both were but instead, to make sure her parents fully understood what the customer was wanting and not to be afraid to say no if they couldn't actually do it. She agreed and again, couldn't have been more apologetic. This was a learning lesson for both parties and I know how to move forward. In the beginning, she asked if she could give me a refund. I declined at first because I wasn't seeking one but instead, was really hoping something could be done about my clothes. After a few phone calls, I decided I'd go ahead and take it. Prior to this, It had been a while since I've brought something to them but because this was handled so professionally, I'll continue using them but for dry cleaning only. I was looking for a place to clean and package up my wife's wedding dress as an anniversary gift to her. I came across this place when I was googling. The dress was pretty clean but the bottom was pretty dirty from our outdoor wedding. Their service was excellent. They got it cleaned and packaged up in box within two weeks of dropping it off there. The communication they provided was excellent. They even sent a text message when the dress was ready for pickup. The quality of work was well worth the cost. The dress cleaning and preservation was $260 then they offered two size boxes. The medium box was $80 and the large box was $100. My wife's dress luckily fit into a medium box so I walked away with an out the door price of $360. I was not aware until I picked it up that the box I purchased came with a window so that you could still see the dress while keeping it packaged up and looking nice! Based on other reviews, I took my daughter's wedding dress here to be cleaned and preserved. Disappointed by the service is an understatement. I paid $300 to clean it, and $80 to preserve it in a sealed box. They said it would take 2-3 weeks to clean. After three weeks, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called to check on it. I was told it wasn't ready and they would call me. When I said it's been over three weeks, she looked up my name and said "it will be done next week". Clearly, it had been forgotten about, so now it was going to be rushed. The FIRST time I picked up the dress (now a month later), it was preserved and sealed in the box. (I found out it odd that you can't see it and approve it before it's sealed up?) When I got home, I opened it up to check it. There was blood on one of the sleeves, and on her dress (which were not there when I brought it in, my daughter didn't bleed at any time). The top of the dress is pinned to cardboard, so I'm assuming that perhaps someone got stuck while pinning it, and it got on the dress. The bottom of her dress was also still filthy. I took pictures and returned it to be cleaned again. Another three weeks later, it was ready, but I was out of town. My husband went in to get it. We asked them NOT to box it until we could see it. He immediately noticed a new, blue line down the front of the dress. Linda at the desk tried to suggest it was there before, and was going to charge us to clean it again. After arguing with her for some time, she said she would clean it again at no charge. He took pictures and it was another three weeks to get it back. The third time I went to pick it up, it was better, but there are still some noticeable dirt marks on the bottom of her dress. However, I was not going to leave it with them again, even though I paid $300 for it. I'll be taking it somewhere else to finish it. Michelle, the owner, did reach out to me a few times to apologize and try to make it right, which I appreciated. But the whole experience was so stressful and frustrating, that I will not be returning there. It also seemed that the owner was not communicating with Linda at the shop. For example, Michelle said they would replace the preservation box for free for my trouble, but then I had to argue with Linda because she was going to charge me another $80 for it. If you have a wedding dress cleaned and preserved, please check it. You can't trust that it was done correctly. read more

Interesting comments regarding " Wash and Fold" at Olive Cleaners. I took two bags in last Friday. The woman at the desk opened the bags, counted the items and said $126. These were bed linens in each bag, one set and extra pillow cases in both. I asked why it was so high. She said oh you want "Wash and Fold"? I said of course why would I dry clean sheets. I was in the computer system so I told her to look and see when I last had it done'. She did not. I just walkied out and took my items. This was my first time there in three years. I wore my wedding dress for a second time to celebrate an anniversary. I ran around outside in that dress for hours in the grass, on sidewalks, roads, etc. on a 100 degree, highly humid St. Louis summer day. It's a very good quality taffeta gown with multiple pleats, a layered skirt, and long train. Needless to say: very important and treasured by me. The woman (I presume owner) that I worked with did such a wonderful job cleaning my dress. She was able to remove sweat stains, grass stains, and black marks from the pavement to get my dress looking nearly as good as new. I think she even cleaned it better than when it was cleaned the first time after my wedding! My expectations were exceeded and I would definitely recommend this business. I've been using Olive Cleaners for about a year now. This is really the best cleaners in the Creve Coeur area. Last year when I first moved into the area, I was using another cleaner. But soon I was tired of seeing black stains and sometimes tears on my shirts that weren't there when I dropped them off. Then I tried a couple other cleaners, but none were mpressive. Finally, I found Olive Cleaners. The staff is very friendly and calls me by my first name. My shirts always come back clean and nicely pressed. More importantly, I feel they care about the customer's request. I have told all of the previous cleaners to keep my collar stays. But none of them did and I kept losing my collar stays. But, the lady at the Olive Cleaners went above and beyond - she puts my collar stays back into the collar for me. That has saved so much of time.
