Bait and switch. Was told $150 for a half load, which was way more than I needed for the small pile of junk I needed gone. I was also told that they would arrive at 10am the next day. Next day, they're late. Understandable. They proceed to tell me that it's going to cost over $300 to haul a small, neatly organized pile of stuff away. I say, no way. That's not the agreed upon price and they are exaggerating the amount of space and work needed. I tell them I have $200, take it or leave it - you're not going to scam me for $300. They ultimately agreed to the $200. The little pile of stuff that I collected by myself was very easily loaded by 2 guys, but they exaggerated and complained the entire time about how much work they were doing for so little money. At the end, what they ended up doing was piling everything up at the back of the truck, literally building a small wall of junk with nothing behind it. They did this to make it look like the back of the dump truck was full of stuff, when it was actually less than 1/4 full. And then more complaining about how full the truck was! Really guys?! I had these guys come and remove a ton bunch of mulch from the city of LA (never get anything free from the city of LA...ugh). This company came out to my home within a day with a gigantic dump truck. Took Mark (a British guy) and his compadre about an hour and a half to load it all into the truck and haul it away. Pricing was very reasonable given the amount of manual labor this entailed. Great service would recommend! (BTW - Mark, with your accent you could get a gig in media or advertising as a strategist or similar...people are generally impressed in those industries simply by an accent, haha. You know I always come across items that I want to get out of place, but then I want to do it THAT MINUTE. I will call around and get quotes for large amounts with scheduling that do not have availability until a few days away and if it takes that long, I just forget about it because it's too expensive or a hassle to be available all day or a time frame of like "anytime between 8-12". Today I got in that mode again and I absolutely had to get rid of two twin mattress. I live in an apartment complex, and we can't just leave things outside without the manager losing her mind -- so I jumped on yelp to try to find someone who could get it out asap and take it away. After calling numerous places and getting quotes like 135 - 170 (for a mattress? really?) I got a message from Clean Junk Out. They quoted me 60 dollars and said they'd come today. I was so happy, we even pulled the mattress out to the curb even though that would have been included in the price. Once I let him know it was outside, he came right over and took it away. No mean yipping manager, that junk finally out of my place! I cannot guarantee you the same time frame, and maybe I was incredibly lucky.
