There is some debate on of Pueblo or Hatch chilis are the best. They specifically mentioned getting the dynamite because it is more spicy or the hottest green chili. I had to try it out. I bought a bushel of the dynamite and had them roast garlic in with it. I made some green pozole and it was very good. If you are passing through or even if it is a little out of the way it is well worth stopping. So there is more work involved, you need to de seed and a little prep to store these but in my opinion it is well worth it. Stop by and check them out.

Today I decided to call before I went so I wouldn't have any trouble & talked to a lady named Terry. I asked her if it was OK for me to go by & pay for the 8 bushels & pick them up later on during that day, she said it would be fine. When I got there an older lady was so upset because I wanted to do this. This isn't the first time that I was treated like I was a huge bother. Last year they did the same thing to me and I just chalked it up to the lady having a bad day, but I will NEVER go there again. Neither will my family. I will never recommend this place to anybody in Denver like I have in the past. We ended up going to a different farm & treated awesome by 2 very kind ladies & even got a discount for buying more than 5 bushels. Dana and Nikki at DiTomaso farm were amazing!!! They offer raw milk shares and they do more tests on their milk then any raw milk operation I know. They also have organic chicken eggs, organic chicken, organic turkeys and organic lamb. I was very impressed with how they treat and care for all their animals and the land. They aim for not just sustainability but regenerative farming! I love it. I wish all farms would operate more like this. Very impressed.

If you're looking for a big variety of chili products, the selection is a bit limited, but they make up for it with a great assortment of jellies, jams, popcorn, and fudge that are fun to browse. They also have a restaurant on-site, and it was very busy on a Sunday, so clearly a popular spot with locals. Tips for the best strawberries and yes they taste as good as they smell. 1 bring several small bags - the strawberries are so ripe they will squish in big bags 2 wear a hat - you are out in the sun 3 start at the end away from the cars - that area is less picked over. 4 have fun - that is part of the process.

That being said, admission is free so it's not too bad. There are cute photo opportunities throughout the pumpkin patch area and it's pet friendly so I took some cute pictures of my kitten. The hay ride is fun and takes you to the gift shop which has lots of jams, syrups and a cafe. Sadly they were out of apple cider donuts and didn't have as much pumpkin treats as I would have wanted. Also there is no corn maze :( Overall, it's a fun little orchard and pumpkin patch that's near Colorado Springs. Id recommend going early if you want to try to catch the apple cider donuts!

Their dried beans are fantastic, and the variety of green chili products is impressive, spices, cheese, roasted peppers, tortillas, green chili Alfredo, ketchup, BBQ sauce... and that's just the start. It's the kind of place where you want to take a little bit of everything home. The food is consistently great, and I love that they ship almost everything (sadly, not the pies--but that just gives you a reason to come back!). Huge bonus: they're open on Sundays and offer a military discount, which we truly appreciate. Perfect Pumpkins. I haven't seen this many large beautiful pumpkins in years. The price was more than reasonable at $3.94. Not knowing what I was going to do with it, I made the purchase.
