I had the Mr. B's Burger with sweet potato fries, and it was more than enough for my wife and me to split. The bartenders were excellent and attentive, and the kitchen was quick and generous. The atmosphere was relaxed, the people were friendly, and nobody seemed to be in a hurry--which is exactly how things ought to be in Barnwell. A few tables over, problems were being solved, fish were getting bigger with every retelling, and at least one expert was explaining how he could have coached the Gamecocks to a winning season if only they'd asked. It had that comfortable hometown feel where everybody either knows your name or knows somebody who does. Good food, cold drinks, friendly faces, and enough local storytelling to qualify as an oral history project. If you're looking for fancy, keep driving. If you're looking for a place where the burger is honest, the fries are plentiful, and the conversation is free, pull up a chair. You'll fit right in.

I left a one-star review, not because of the food or the waitresses, as they were all wonderful,…read morebut because of the behavior of one employee who negatively affected our experience. Throughout the evening, this individual was repeatedly rude and disrespectful toward the other employees. She was speaking loudly, criticizing their work, and making comments about tasks that she believed were not being completed. She also told other customers that the food was not properly labeled, which made it unclear how long certain items had been sitting out. Her name was Shelly, the way she spoke to and treated the other employees came across as extremely unprofessional and created an uncomfortable atmosphere for both the staff and customers. My family and I otherwise had a positive impression of the restaurant, but this experience left a bad taste in our mouths. I sincerely hope management addresses the situation, because the behavior of one employee should not negatively reflect on the many employees who were doing a great job.

The two sides were flavorful and the Mac and cheese had real cheese not like the one that comes in a box My sweet tea came with refills like it is customary in the South, for dessert had the shoo-fly pie which was unlike anything I ever had and good to the last bite I will take my outoftowners next time even if it is in the middle of nowhere in a block that is being revitalized by the Mayor, inside is a modest place and don't expect a Michelin star, just plain and simple homemade cooking

He was just trying to keep us away from the good stuff! For starters, walking in was nice and comfortable and came with a friendly greeting. It was 2 o'clock on a Thursday and there was a bit of business, but not too much to keep us from a visit and going to our seat in just a minute. My wife and I had different items so that we could taste more things. I don't believe that there was any negative conversation about a single bite. It was easy to get excited about the flavor of everything that we had. Pure comfort food at its best. If you made it this far in the review and don't go find out how wonderful this is. Sorry but, you're missing out!

From the first phone inquiry to the experience in the restaurant, the people were genuinely polite and welcoming. The atmosphere felt calm, relaxed, and easy. The food exceeded expectations. The Cobb salad was especially good - fresh, well-balanced, and thoughtfully put together, with healthy ingredients and no bacon, which I appreciated. The shrimp tacos were excellent, topped with a slightly sweet/spicy, mysterious sauce that worked really well. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!!!

The staff were all very polite and friendly. We were seated quickly with drink orders taken. It took a few minutes to get the drinks, but thats OK. A larger table was seated before us so its all good. We placed our food order of the Loaded Fries for an appetizer, 2 Killer Club sandwichs(pesto on the side)with fries, Secret Philly with onion rings and the Blackened Fish Tacos with the chips salsa and queso. The Loaded Fries were delicious! Plenty of bacon and queso on them. The Philly was delicious, onion rings hot and crispy. The kids loved their Club sandwiches. They were HUGE and the kids could have easily split one. The Blackened Fish Tacos were the only negative on our trip. They were pale colored, hardly warm, and the slaw was soggy. Honestly they were aweful! My husband tried a bite and said it tasted like it was from yesterdays trash. I have seen tons of good reviews on them so I'm not sure if they have been changed or I got them on a bad day or what. I hate sending food back, so I just ate them. I tried throwing pesto from the clubs, salsa or queso on bites trying to make them better, but nothing really helped. Overall we will definitely be back again, just not ordering the tacos!
