I asked Nathan if he could maybe have some sent out. About 20 minutes into our dinner soup bowls were brought out, all room temperature. All there were watery and tasteless. This wasn't the best Eat'n Park experience that I have had. This location was a bit questionable when it came to a few things. Like the special of the day really wasn't special at all. See it was already in the menu, nothing special about it, not even the price. See I like EnP because of the salad bar, especially hitting on the day that they have their loaded potato soup. However, this visit the salad bar was lacking. It was missing items throughout. When my brother went up to grab some soup, he preferred the chicken noodle, he had to scrape bottom. Then the lady that was manning the salad bar was out of it, standing right next to him and said that she didn't know it was out. If you are working the salad bar you should know which items are needed and not. To top it off, as I was up there making my salad, and thank god I was in front of these two, a grandson was constantly touching all the food with his bare hands while all the grandfather did was keep telling not to do it. It wasn't just touching, it was the kid touching it and putting it back into the bin that he had just touched. Needless to say I did not make a return visit to the salad bar. As far as the main course, I went with the Mile High Meatloaf. It wasn't the best. It seemed like they didn't use the right bread. The meatloaf was really dry and there was not enough gravy to compensate for the dryness. Service was a bit slow and it wasn't really that busy. We hardly saw our server, so drink refills didn't happen for me, and took forever for my dad and brother. I had dirty silverware and had to get a soup spoon from the salad bar to replace my spoon. Overall, not a great experience, and I know it is not an overview of the company in a whole. We ate here on a Sunday night, and based on previous reviews, I was hesitant. This was literally the only non fast food place open in the area, and we had just driven through a blizzard. Traveling across the country from NY and never heard of Eat'n Park. So my dad and I stopped here for breakfast. It was pretty good! The waitress was super nice and the coffee was not bad! I got the veggie omelette and it was good. My only complaint was it came out not as hot as I would have liked. It's also nice they have gluten friendly menu items as I have a gluten allergy. A gluten free roll is 75 cents extra which to be honest isn't bad. Most places charge at least a $2 up charge. For two big breakfasts the total was $20.32. Not bad at all. read more

This restaurants a mix between soup&salad and IHOP. They have a pretty decently fresh all-you-can-eat salad and soup bar for $8/person. More importantly for me, the salad bars open until 10, which is awesome considering most later night food options are greasy or fast food. If you don't want salad, you can order off the menu that has all the normal American food that diners usually have. We came here on vacation and they were super friendly, contrary to other reviews. Maybe we just looked super touristy-esque? It more probably depended on the server we had, as is the case with any restaurant. (Thanks Gloria!). I-80 between Youngstown OH and Central NJ is pretty barren. It is the main route between the Great Lakes States (and cities like Chicago and Detroit) and New York City. The places to stop are few and far between. One of the most logical is DuBois PA. About 100 miles from Youngstown, it has a strip of chain restaurants and stores about a mile from the freeway. One of the coolest is the Western PA chain called Eat-N-Park. It is like Friendly's or Big Boy, but better. Meals are served with a fresh baked sticky cinammon roll and powdered roll. They have entrees that have good presentation and flavor (both rosemary chicken and crumb topped whitefish were well seasoned and delicious). Also have a coffee bar and chai tea drinks. The bakery is on premisis. This chain does a nice job of balancing the traditional with the trendy. As someone who lived in a smaller town, this combination is most appreciated. For the outsider passing through, this is a cut above the other choices, and worth a stop. Also have breakfasts, sandwiches, and salad bar. This location, like many is 24 hours. read more

My girlfriend and I decided on Eat N Park after a day running around doing some Christmas shopping. She knew what she wanted to order, but I needed a minute to look at things. I asked our waitress (Laura) about one of the menu items. She gave me an answer that steered me toward picking something else, and I settled on the turkey club. My girlfriend got pasta. During the course of our meal, Laura kept our drinks full, and paid just enough attention to our table to keep us happy. She was attentive, but not overbearing (as sometimes happens when a restaurant isn't packed). Our food was as good as we expected, and the overall trip was pleasing. We did have something come up during our visit that we thought we'd better bring to Laura's attention, but as it was something we felt could be a common mistake at a restaurant, we wanted to be as quiet about it as possible. She thanked us, and sent out a manager (which we hadn't asked happen). They both understood that we were just letting them know, not complaining about the incident, and we ended up with two smiley cookies, which we thought was a kind gesture, albeit unnecessary. We headed home full, and happy to have chosen Eat N Park for our dinner. Our server Laura came across as one of the best our area has to offer. If you're in the area and choose to stop at this restaurant, look her up. Not to take away from anyone else who may work there, but you'll be happy to end up in her section. read more

First, I had to read the menu to our waitress, so she knew that the "Whale Of A Cod" dinner comes with two sides, not one. Then when I asked about the rolls that we were supposed to get with our dinner, I was informed they were out of rolls. After waiting for what seemed like forever, the waitress brought us "Whale Of A Cod" sandwiches, not the "Whale Of A Cod" dinners we ordered. When I pointed out the error, she took the sandwiches back to the kitchen and, judging from how quickly she returned, they just took the fish off the sandwiches and put it on the plate with our side orders. While this may seem OK, the size of the fish portions were considerably smaller than what we have gotten in the past (we have ordered the "Whale Of A Cod" dinner numerous times over the past nine months). Then, when our desserts were served the pumpkin pie I was served had a rubbery texture, which lead me to believe it was old, so I sent it back. Frankly, this was the worst service I have ever had at Eat n Park, and I was thoroughly disappointed." UPDATE: After being contacted by Eat n Park, we were given a gift card and returned to the same Eat n Park location this evening. What a dramatic improvement. As I was walking out I called the store and Robert answered the phone as I asked for a manager he proceed to complain about us walking out while he hadn't put me on hold yet. Once the manager got on the phone I proceeded to explain our experience and she said she will have to reprimand some people. Thanks for the no service. Glad Perkins was so close.
