A nice newly renovated theater on Eaton St in Key West. I saw Key West Burlesque here and had a lovely evening.

Just a clear display of profit over people. This isn't about creating a community experience anymore; it's about squeezing every dollar from those of us who simply wanted a night out. We live here year-round. We support this town and its businesses every season, not just when it's convenient. You caught us this time, but know this: there won't be a next. It's disheartening to see this kind of greed, and even more so to be met with dismissive attitudes at the counter. Do better. Our community deserves it.

I waited in line until way past my movie's start time but fortunately I only missed the first 15 minutes of trailers for other movies. (Seriously! Why are there so many trailers and ads before the movie I've paid to see comes on?) The theatre is icy cold so it's a welcome relief from Key West's heat and humidity in August. But the air carries that faint mildewy aroma that closed up buildings in the tropics can get. Seats were comfy and staggered so you don't have to look at the back of anyone's head, so that's nice. But they don't recline like some more modern theatres' seats do. Parking is hit-or-miss. The theatre shares a lot with Publix (and several other stores) and it must have been free-food day because we ended up having to park a long long way from the theatre.
