We saw the opening of Scrooge McBeth & enjoyed a night of laugh therapy. Great space, terrific cast & costumes & a wonderful production of a fabulously strange story! LYAO enjoyment. We were a group of six & were all equally happy to have seen the show & meet some of the cast & audience. Very warm & friendly people. We look forward to seeing another performance the next time we get to KW.

Very small theater in a historic building. Saw "Quarantine for Two", a wickedly funny play about a…read moremiddle-aged warring couple cooped up together during COVID. We could all relate to lines about disinfecting grocery bags, "mask-debators", toilet paper shortages and the like. Sometimes it's good to laugh at tragedy. Details: Reserve seats on the theater's website and pick up tickets at the box office up to an hour before curtain time. Very tight leg room and narrow seating with protruding cupholders made us happy it was a short play! As of mid-March the Red Barn was still asking for vaccine cards and masks despite the fact that Florida doesn't require them.

You might notice I said it's my CHIHUAHUA's favorite party, when the event listing says it's a Dachshund Walk. The chis have kind of co-opted this event, so the doxies line up first, then the chis take up the rear. I've noticed more and more other dog breeds showing up as well and lining up behind the chis. The more the merrier I say! Plan to arrive early as they close off the streets in the parade route a bit before the parade starts (including a couple blocks of Duval). Most of the doggos come in costumes, and your chihuahua gets to take home a commemorative Conch Republic Chihuahua bandana. My dog is absurdly social and stops at EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. along the parade route to get pets. So much la!

Key West has dubbed the dachshund the official dog of Key West. During this parade dachshunds and their other close four footed friend breeds come from far and wide to parade down Fleming Street and down one block on Duval, or as far as their little legs can carry them. Some don elaborate costumes and props, are pulled in wagons and carts and carried by their parents along the parade route. This is a FREE event that is fun for all ages and worth bringing your camera to. All dogs gather on the Courthouse Steps at 500 Whitehead St for the parade start. I called the business and the owner apologized and said she would be opening late that day from 1pm-7pm. I said I would return later on before closing. I came back at 5:58pm again with my 6 year old son in tow and it was CLOSED. We were both upset and it was a complete waste of my time going there twice in one day.

This is by far my favorite Key West event of all throughout the entire year. Country Music songwriter greats from around the country perform at various locations throughout Key West. And the best part... most of the entertainment is FREE! There are two to three musicians on stage at a time. One sings a song, then the next and so forth in rotation. The talent changes every hour so you are never board. 2014 Heralded some amazing talent including Sarah Evens at the main stage on Duval, and the beautiful Kacey Musgraves and Sarah Darling, to name a few. The 2015 Line up is equally as compelling with Jack Ingram, the legendary Robert Earl Keen and Rhett Akins, Josh Dorr's return and Chris Young! Whether you are a country music fan or just plain love music, this is a don't miss event. Smokin' Tuna is an official sponsor, so look for your t-shirts and memorabilia at the gift shop here. The event indicated 8 pm for the contestants to check in. The contest start at 9:00 pm. Actually the judging not start until 9:30 pm. That is the reason I said go there 5 minutes before 9 pm start is good enough. There is VIP section with pay entrance that allows you stay at front. There was various body artists painting. Some of them is local tattoo artists, some is airbrush artists, and some just painted by themselves. The use of color to props is amazing. Some has their whole body is painted. The winner has vibrant colors with a lot of props. The Expo held at sunset pier in key west. It is adults only entertainment. It attracts some crowd during the competition. The artist here is better than the Duval Street regular participant.
