This clinic will work with you in any way they can in terms of insurance or payment upon services rendered, although it is important to note that they do not handle worker's comp patients. The waiting room is clean and well lit, and exam rooms are plentiful. They don't keep really late hours like a CareNow or the like, but if you can visit when they're open, I think you'll like the experience.

I agreed to see one of the nurse practitioners and paid the higher fee for my first visit. She was not able to advise me on anything during that visit as she didn't have my bloodwork results yet. I have not been able to communicate with her at all about prescriptions since having my bloodwork run. The doctors do not communicate with patients through clinic's messaging system, unlike many other clinics. Messages are only responded to by the assistants. After much back and forth due to this, it has been almost two months without one of my agreed upon prescriptions being filled. One of my other prescriptions was incorrectly filled. After multiple calls and messages with assistants that were just following a script, the office manager called and insisted that it had been filled correctly and told me to go to CVS to handle it with them. The CVS pharmacist showed me how it was sent in and explained how it was done incorrectly. She tried to call the clinic but only only got the AI system. I have made more calls and sent messages since then. Today the office manager again called and insisted that the prescription was filled correctly, complete with a bad attitude as usual. She then told me I'm being fired as a patient. This is how they deal with their incompetence. This the worst run clinic I have ever dealt with.

Simmons Cancer Center .. New…read more My 73 year old wife had a lung scan every year since 2021 revealing "ground glass" effect causing recommend to another yearly scan. She missed 2023 because of couple extensive back and neck surgeries. 2024 scan revealed 2 very small nodules yet recommendation for wait a year see if they grow. Unknown to me maybe because my wife did not see it as significant. She kept this info from me. I would have pushed go back in 6 months at most. November 2025 one nodule had quadrupled in size now above the .8 MM that triggers biopsy. A good local hospital will remained unnamed performed the scans and biopsy but I knew she needed professional specialists. After some internet evaluation I might have chosen Houstons MD Anderson being number one in the world but distance and possibility of multiple traveling appointments caused opting for Simmons Center at UTSW. It has a very high rating, the same certifications, same modern technology and was closer access which is important for people of our age. It was a good decision as we met oncologist Dr Wei the next week who has an outstanding online video introducing herself to prospective patients. Just the video was reassuring! Even tho we had no appointment with Dr Nelson he came in and looked at our scans. Was also reassuring and said that they usually do surgery within 30 days if they think it is the correct path. This was music to my paranoid ears. PET scan and breathing test was required then he lived up to his promise removing both nodules and several lymph nodes for lab evaluation in the same surgery December 2025. They think she is cured (KNOCK ON WOOD) In summary I would give 6 stars if possible for both these doctors and even tho we did not have to use her expertise Dr Zhang (the radiation specialist) also was welcoming, friendly and very professional. These doctors and every one at Simmons from valet to pre and post surgery nurses were pros and always polite and friendly. We did not have to partake in their Hope Lodge which is a free hotel for their patients. Radiation would have been daily for 6 weeks and living 75 miles away would not have been able to keep up with that drive every day. But it is there if you need it. I have read some reviews about taking too long to get appointments or having to wait past time of appointment and would suggest achieving excellent trained specialist is the assignment for you or loved ones! Organizing yourself and your records will streamline the process of dealing with a large and very busy organization. Maybe write down notes in your smart phone listing questions as you think of them before the appointment. Finally patience might be the best attribute to becoming a successful patient.
