Let me take you on a journey of complete unprofessionalism that ruined the start of my long-planned vacation. I left New York at 3:00 AM to catch a 6:50 AM flight to Fresno. I had booked two rooms back on July 4th through Agoda, planning this trip for over four months. This property is misleadingly advertised as having multiple rooms, but in reality it only has one studio with its own private entrance on the top floor and a small bunk bed room underneath it, nothing more. I made two reservations, one was canceled and the reservation for the studio was still active, so I assumed we were fine. We arrived at the property on October 11th at 7:40 PM. It was completely dark, with no sign of staff, no lights, and no instructions despite the listing claiming check-in was available until 10 PM. We tried calling the phone number listed repeatedly for over 30 minutes....no answer, no callback. We waved down a local man walking his dog who knew the people who run this place, and he tried calling the owner for us...still no response. A guest staying on the property also tried helping us reach someone. The couple staying there said they had also struggled the night earlier for over two hours to reach anyone when they checked in. Clearly this is a pattern!!! We called every number we could find, total silence from the person who run this place ECHO adventures, Elisabeth and her husband, Ryan. After two freezing hours outside in 30 degree weather, walking around the pitch black property searching for someone, we heard a phone ringing. The couple staying in the studio, Studio which looked just like the one we had booked, gave us an alternative phone number for the person who runs this place, but even that number went unanswered. We then traced the ringing sound and found an abandoned iPhone left outside on the ground. It turned out to be the alternative phone belonging to Elisabeth. With no help, no access to our room, and no one answering any phone lines, we had to leave and try to find a place to sleep. Every local hotel was sold out. The only reason we finally reached someone was thanks to a kind stranger at a local bar who happened to know Ryan, the husband. After three long hours of trying to reach anyone, we finally got ahold of Ryan but his wife, Elisabeth, quickly took over the call and was dismissive and unapologetic from the start, speaking with a tone of arrogance. First, she told me that she hadn't checked Agoda lately, then claimed my reservation didn't exist. Then she changed her story and said Agoda never sent it to her, but regardless I had a reservation cancelled like shifting the blame to me. Then she admitted she had seen the messages and calls but chose not to respond because she was "confused" about why someone was trying to check in, since she believed she was already full and all expected guests had arrived. Despite knowing someone was trying to reach her about a reservation, she still ignored every message and even admitted she saw the Agoda chat and chose not to answer there either, adding that she ignore the call coming from her guests and the person who knew her during the spam of 3 hours. Not once did she apologize during any of this. Her "solution" after leaving us stranded in the cold for hours? "Try booking.com or Airbnb." She said that to me at 11:30 PM see pictures and video. No offer to help. No responsibility. No basic decency. Thankfully, a nearby hotel took pity on us and made up a room at the last minute, even though the heat didn't work and priced quite high. We finally got inside a room at 1:30 AM exhausted, stressed, and furious. The same morning at 8:30 AM, Elisabeth showed up at our door, not to apologize, but to retrieve her lost phone. When I reminded her about the situation, she had the nerve to say: "You turned out to be my hero, even though I couldn't help you yesterday." No apology. No accountability. No shame. instead she asked me how much I was paying for the room and to "enjoy my stay" I told her it was temporary since there was not heat and then she remarked "so pricey and not heat " This is not how a business should operate especially in a small town where reputation matters. The complete lack of communication, the arrogance, the refusal to take responsibility, and leaving guests stranded without help is absolutely unacceptable. Save yourself stress and misery. There are many wonderful, honest hosts in the Yosemite area, Elisabeth and Ryan are not among them. ALL GUESTS knew they were being FILMED mostly because of the found phone, even one of the guest in the video suggested me to take the FOUND phone and BRING IT in the morning the following day to speak to Elisabeth about this, this is also filmed in case you have a doubt! yet not faces are shown on any of these pictures cause it's the decent thing to do, they also gave me their personal number in case I needed help, everyone tried to help but you! read more

But The biggest and most unpleasant experience , was when we met Mr. Bob at the shop where we started our day from. We had the absolute best day of our entire trip, fly fishing with Kevin in Yosemite. It really set a high bar at the beginning of our trip. Kevin is patient, helpful, and super smart about all things outdoors. My husband and I caught 25 fish!!! It was wild! We also saw a bear TWICE (same tagged bear). If I could give 10 stars, I would. From The booking process with Elizabeth to the actual day, everything was absolutely exceptional. Echo had thought of everything, and they truly put the customer first. Excellence is their goal, not just churn and burn, and we felt the difference. We hired Bryant to take us on a private custom tour just after New Years 2025. He greeted us at Firefall Ranch with a great large vehicle that was comfortable and easy to get in and out of. We ordered lunches in advance, and then left the entire thing to him. He brought us to Hetch Hetchy, to the main floor at Yosemite, to the base of the incredible waterfall, and he showed us all the sites possible in our short trip together. He gave us great info along the way, he was EXTREMELY patient with our 4 kiddos, and we truly felt like we had a friend giving us the inside scoop on all things Yosemite, and we're already planning our next visit back in the summer and plan to hire Bryant to take us fly fishing. Bryant is a savant. He knows everything about Yosemite, and has endless amazing stories to share which made the trip just incredible. I couldn't have been happier with the Echo Adventure tour in Yosemite. Without a doubt, when I go back there, I will use the again and will highly recommend them to everyone. I had never been to Yosemite and I chose this tour because I had no idea where to start, Yosemite is huge, I wanted a tour and I wanted it to be a private tour because we are still in a pandemic. In addition, I wanted the tour to be somewhat flexible as opposed to "be back on the bus in 15 minutes!" I knew that I could drive into and around Yosemite but I wanted to sit back and enjoy the scenery, as opposed to navigating the roads. I also wanted to get out and do some hiking. This met all of those expectations. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and I could tell that he really liked what he was doing. On the way back to my hotel, I said to my partner, I was surprised on just how knowledgeable he was about the park, the history of the park, about forestry (I had an uncle that worked for CA Department of Forestry), conservation and how these geological wonders were formed. Although we haven't tried their services, I wanted to leave a review to explain how genuine and kind one of the person who works here. We got into a car accident around Yosemite late at night because a sudden road being closed, which was our way home. We had to go around the mountain in the dark. Bryant, who happened to be driving behind us and is one of the guides in this company, stopped for us and stayed with us until CHP came. We had no cell service (T-mobile, I'm crying) but he did so he called for help for us. I'm leaving this review not just because I wanted to support his company, but to point out that just seeing what kind of a person he is, surely reflects the honest, genuine, and integrity of how he would handle business. I think just knowing this fact will get me so comfortable and confident with a company that I will not be swindled with my money. His passion and knowledge for Yosemite (told us he would climb El Capitan here and there) will get you excited to see the whole park! Just got back from a guided fishing tour and literally could not be happier with how it went. Service was top notch - they provided everything (including food, water, and transportation to/from our hotel). The rental equipment was clean and looked brand new. They even had waders in children's sizes. We went with Bryant (co-owner) and he was so helpful and friendly on top of being extremely knowledgeable (and patient). Where do we begin to share our terrible experience with this company and especially with the Owner So called CEO of this company Elizabeth Barton. We booked a tour with this company a month ago and asked to booked the tour which had cancellation policy. I notified them within 24 hours that we had a family emergency and a family member was sick and might not be able to make this tour. Three days later she responded that your reservation had been cancelled. Keep in mind this was almost three weeks ahead of the reservation still. I noticed that money did not go back on my card and then contacted them. Elizabeth called me back and almost right from the beginning of the conversation, she starts to get irritated and does not let me talk. She tells me that your reservation was not one that has cancellation policy. I asked her to check with the representative and confirm why he did not book this and listen to the recorded phone call about what I asked. She does not have that and tells me the burden is on me to prove that....wow and then she continues to argue and cut me off on the phone. She hangs up on me three times actually and then tells me that I have to contact my credit card company to dispute this which I will do. She also tells me that we sent you a gift card instead of the refund and I have no use for this gift card that can be used at their place only. Then she offers me only a 50 percent of the money and hangs up again. I asked her several times about the company's owner and someone else to speak to and she refused and hung up again. Why would you issue me a gift card or 50 percent when I cancelled the reservation within 24 hours and three weeks ahead? A good business owner or management will not do this. I was more disappointed in the terrible attitude, lack of any customer service skills and very unprofessional behavior by Elizabeth than anything. She has no clue about how to talk to customers or demonstrates any active listening skills. If the rest of the owners (Bryant, JR, Jen, Nate) read this review and would like to review the recorded call with her, please let me know or I hope you put someone with some customer service skills competent person to deal with customers. Totally unprofessional and scam people they are and have no clue how to deal with customer service issues. I would highly not recommend this place to anyone and hope the rest of the board members don't have to deal with this lady's nasty attitude. read more

My wife and I went on our first fly fishing trip through Echo Adventures. Dillon, our guide, was an absolute pleasure and an excellent fly fishing instructor. He was knowledgeable about reading the river and extremely patient with his fly fishing instruction. He had us casting like experienced fly fishermen in short order. The one-day option was great as we were outfitted with everything we need to fly fish on the Merced River in Yosemite Valley. A nice lunch and snacks were provided as part of the package! My parents booked a fly fishing trip for us (2 adults, 4 kids ages 7-13) and we had an excellent time. We could not be more satisfied with the value of a fun trip that provided everything that we needed, including a reusable water bottle that was pre-filled with ice cold water. Our guides (Bryant and Bryan) were very knowledgeable about the park and made sure that we caught fish. We practiced casting, got rigged up, then they sent us on the river. We caught four rainbow trout before heading back for lunch which was sandwiches from a local deli. They accommodated well for our gluten and peanut allergies, and shared little known facts and history about the park with us while we ate. After lunch, we headed to a different spot, but didn't catch anything. It was a great experience for the family, and my younger brother especially had a ton of fun catching his fish, then releasing it and enjoying nature. They provided all of the gear, and it was all in great condition. We also got dropped off at our cabin at the end of the day, which was very nice of Bryant and Brian to do. Overall, they were great with families and I would highly recommend both as guides who really love what they do. we learned some great values on the river and it it a trip worth the money. We went on the Tuolumne Sequoia Grove and waterfall tour with Jamie on January 2. We really enjoyed the tour. Jamie was very engaging and patient with our 3 kids (ages 9-12). Jamie kept the tour at a good pace; we never felt rushed. Our children loved exploring the Miwok cave and climbing the rocks near Yosemite Falls. We also loved visiting and learning about each of the very special sequoia trees. Bonus was the personalized picnic lunches. In fact, our 10 year old said it was the best sandwich he ever had! We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Katherine last week. She was great about acknowledging the different levels of hiking in our group and chose options that would allow everyone to have a great experience. We enjoyed getting to know her and the beautiful area in which she lives. This was during the COVID-19 period and she followed all of the important protocol to keep all of us safe. She took us to a few hidden gems in Yosemite that gave us incredible views with less foot traffic so we could relax and enjoy. I would love to try her yoga adventure, and their fly fishing too. I had the pleasure of taking a walking tour of Groveland this week with Echo Adventure. Groveland is a tiny little historic gold rush town in the Sierra foothills. There's really only one main street in town. I've lived here for almost 15 years, and yet I learned more about the town and our very colorful history in this tour than I have ever known. She was incredibly informative, very articulate, entertaining, and overall, an exceptional tour guide. The first day was spent doing the Giant Sequoia Snowshoe tour, and on the second day we went to Hetch Hetchy for fly fishing.
