I had my credentials, Real ID, and paperwork in hand to prove I could own (and take home that day) those accessories. Brian the owner refused to work with me. I told him I purchased the items from another company who also used my credentials. He refused to hand over my bought items. After trying to work with Brian, I found it was better to have him ship my firearm and accessories to a valley FFL. He told me he would wait a few days to send it. He also told me the other FFL would refuse to hand over my bought products. I called that valley FFL and explained everything. They told me they would take care of me as long as I brought my credentials and would give me my purchased items. I called two other FFLs who also told me Brian was in the wrong and they would help me. I would not recommend this store. The owner is rude, would not hear me out, and would not take ownership of the misunderstanding. Don't send your firearms here for FFL purposes. I suggest going to the valley or through another FFL you know. I will no longer do business with SOO.

In some sticky situations that other boats got into, he was right ON IT to help them without hesitation, often seeing a problem before anyone else had. I felt completely safe in his care. He also "read the group" really well, connecting easily with everyone. Despite his amazing professional skill and emotional intelligence, he was very low-key and humble... to me, that's a sign of a lifelong learner. This was our 4th trip with OARS. There's so much care into the preparation, the selection and training of the guides and the well-oiled execution on these trips. We're already planning our next!

If you're looking for a little more adventure, a multi-day guided whitewater trip is so fun, with lots of downtime to swim, look at the stars, play games, and eat yummy food. There's no freeze dried camp meals here. Everything is boated in and prepped on the beach for you. So good. All around, so good.

Their staff have always been friendly and personable and quick to offer to help us find anything when we've had questions. I've also been impressed at how solid they have been about enforcing the mask rule here - with signage on their door - and having all of their staff wearing them as well. I asked a simple question about what he recommended for fishing in the lake, and instead of helping me, he mumbled "f***ing idiot" under his breath. He didn't yell it at me, but I heard exactly what he said, and I don't appreciate being spoken about that way over a simple question. He was pointing toward the fishing bait in front of me, but with an entire wall full of different products, I couldn't tell which ones he was referring to. It's disappointing to be treated this way, especially when I've been coming here for years. Experiences like this also make me question whether there is a broader pattern of disrespectful or potentially discriminatory treatment at places around Strawberry and some of the smaller local businesses. I can't say for certain what motivated his behavior, but it left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I've spent thousands of dollars supporting businesses throughout this community over the years, and I've always enjoyed coming here. Unfortunately, experiences like this make me reconsider where I choose to spend my time and money. Customers deserve basic courtesy and respect, even when they're simply asking for a recommendation.
