I was instructed to go to DMV within 7 - 10 days after my purchase, I went at 10 days waited for 4 hours at DMV to find out they do not have my title or registration documents! received an appointment for one week later at DMV. Contacted Echo Park that day to find they had not even shipped my documents, I received a promise they will ship my docs next day overnight fedex. I am at DMV now for my appointment and the docs are not here again. Wasted another 4 or 5 hours of my time, and could be 2 to 4 weeks before I can get another DMV appointment! I was excited to trade in my FJ Cruiser for the 2018 Dodge Challenger SXT listed on their website. While setting up an appointment to look at the Challenger, I asked to test drive it, and the salesman said that all I needed was my license and insurance. I arrived with my required documentation, but he informed me that since my mom's name was on the insurance card, I would be unable to drive it. At other dealerships, I have been permitted to test drive their vehicles without hassle. After inspecting my car, the buyer informed me that my FJ, a rare Trail Teams Special Edition in great condition, had lost around 30% of its value due to a single odometer discrepancy of around a thousand miles. Other dealerships I've since spoken with have offered me thousands more for my car and were not phased by its minor mileage variance. I felt that their offer was an extreme lowball and way below market value, which was insulting. Also, I gave them all of my information before coming to the dealership, so why wasn't I warned about the mileage discrepancy before driving an hour to meet them? I could buy that Challenger easily, but I refuse to do business with this sorry excuse for a dealership. Think twice before doing business with EchoPark Birmingham! read more

First after sending them my Banking information I told her I had a $2000 dollar down payment, no more, no less. She stated that ran the numbers to the Bank at $2500 Then after I got they stated they thought my income was $5000 dollars more than what I told them and what they had looked at. I am active duty military, and we just recently moved here. My wife went in on a Saturday while I was at work. She was interested in one of their cars but couldn't sign the paperwork until I was able to get off work and get there so I could co-sign. My wife left for one hour to get our children food, and got a text saying the car was sold to someone else. She was extremely interested and salesman Blake knew this. If I could give zero stars, I would. My partner bought a car from EchoPark and within the second week of owning it, the brake caliper broke off. That is a serious and dangerous issue that should never happen on a supposedly inspected vehicle. That was just the beginning. He also discovered the oil pressure sensor was faulty. They had the car for two weeks for repairs, only to return it with the same issues and now that it's conveniently out of warranty, they refuse to fix anything. These problems were clearly there from the beginning, but they're now denying all responsibility. EchoPark markets itself as a trustworthy dealership, but my experience has been the opposite. They sell faulty vehicles and delay repairs until your warranty expires so they can wash their hands of it. Shady, dishonest, and unethical. Don't fall for the hype. I had an appointment to test drive a vehicle at 2:00 and was called at 1:55 to let me know someone was test driving the vehicle. I had rerouted my trip 2 hours out of my way only to have it sold out from under me. I understand the dealership is within their rights to sell the car since I did not put down a deposit, but had hoped as a courtesy I would have the chance to buy it first. But this dealership is not trying to overcome the used car stereotypes. They might have a good car at a good price...but I wouldn't go out of my way to find out again. read more

Then, Josh-manager at Echo Park Automotive in Birmingham- had someone call to tell us their was someone in the store buying the car. We told the sales rep, we bought the car. Guess what, Josh sold it. Didn't even have the courtesy to call us back or tell us himself. Stay away. I wish I had. They will not stand behind the vehicle I purchased even though they knew it was damaged. I bought a 2024 Subaru Forester from them about 3 months ago. I noticed within the first couple of days the front end was severely out of alignment (should have noticed sooner). It had obviously been this way before I purchased it because the front tires were dangerously bald/worn on the inside edges. Echo Park did step up and had me take it to a shop that replaced the 2 tires and did a front end alignment (This used up my 7 day return window). Within a few days of that I noticed a creaking noise from the front end. It was sporadic and only occurred at slow speeds starting and stopping moving. It took time to get the sound diagnosed because the weather affected it and I ended up having to record it to get Subaru to dig in and find the problem. There was significant suspension damage that had to have been caused prior to my purchase. All of this should have been caught in their supposed inspection. I was never offered a copy of the inspection report. They are now saying "Sorry we missed the damage but you are outside the window of getting reimbursed". So I am now out several thousand dollars over and above the cost of the vehicle. I have listed below some of what they claim to check in their inspections. Echopark was the worst car buying experience I've ever had. They sit you down at the beginning to tell you how they don't make a commission, they get a salary so they're there to facilitate your car buying experience. Well this does not work at all. There is no incentive for them to be attentive, to move above a slug-like pace, or to help you in any way. We spent all our time waiting for them to go to their back lot to bring up a car for us to test drive, then a long wait for the next one, etc. Once they went to get a car, never came back, we flagged someone down and they said they took it to maintenance because a tire was low and needed air and it would be right out. But after flagging someone down again it turns out the tire needed to be changed and we'd have to wait. At this point we'd been there a couple hours and had only driven one car. I'd been looking for a vehicle for several months and couldn't find the specific one that met price and usage(mileage) until I found the Echo Park site. there was a great range of vehicles and reasonably priced as well. the initial process once I found the one I wanted was ridiculously easy. 20 minutes on the internet and I had a car in Texas moving our way. EP did a solid job of communicating with me the status of the car, and it was received in good time. I had financing set up, and so I thought the process would be quick and painless once I arrived at the location for delivery. I was horribly wrong. everyone was friendly. that was a positive. in the last phone call I had informing me of delivery, the person asked if I was interested in extended warranty and other protections. I clearly said "no interest". none. at the dealership, I was asked again, in multiple ways by multiple people if I was interested. I clearly said no every time, but they just didn't care. these protections are obviously a huge profit point and they are willing to make the customer angry to sell them. 2 hours at the dealership for what should have been a 30 minute paperwork signing. they brought paperwork after I'd said no 4 times that still had these coverages built into the price. as a result...I have the car. but I doubt I will ever buy there again. and I will tell every friend who asks about the experience how miserable it was....and how unnecessary it was. read more
