Echo Ridge is the best barn on the Seacoast of NH. We have been to other barns for riding for my 10 year old. Once she arrived at Echo Ridge she learned so much more about caring for horses. Not only did she learn she became part of a family. At the age of ten she is now able to go to the barn with her "family" and help with all the barn chores. This is a safe, clean, and well cared for barn. The team at Echo Ridge takes great pride at every turn. The paddocks are wide and far reaching plenty of time for the horses to roam. I have been riding at this barn and with Kelly for the past 3 years. It is a beautiful farm and property, and Kelly and team take the utmost care of the horses as well as the facility. This is a no drama barn with a great sense of community where everyone there's an automatic understanding that we are all going to pitch in and take care of things. There are some nice horses for lessons if you don't own or board like me, and Kelly is a great instructor, she challenges you but is also patient. Echo Ridge is by far the best horse farm I have ever had the pleasure of riding and working at. The horses are at Echo Ridge are given the best care and the boarders are like family. The barn owner is professional, caring, and will do anything in her power to ensure that a boarder is happy with the care their horse is receiving. There are always fun events for friends and family to enjoy such as cookouts, schooling shows, and horse pampering nights! The trails at Echo ridge are beautiful and are maintained to ensure that they are safe to ride and the paddocks are what every horse owner dreams of. Horses at the farm are the most well behaved horses I have worked with and boarders constantly rave about how mellow and happy their horses have become with the turnout available to them. If you're looking for a place to board your horse where you know they will be well taken care of and want to make friends for life then Echo Ridge is the place for you! I had the unfortunate opportunity to come across Echo Ridge Farm as a place to board my horse. To anyone seeing the farm for the first time, it is quite deceiving. The facility itself is beautiful. Large paddocks, beautiful barn, new indoor, and miles of trails. But spend a few days there and you will realize that the owner and "manager" is the most unprofessional, unsafe, and untrustworthy person you will ever have the displeasure of knowing. I have never feared for my horse's safety more than I did when he was at Echo Ridge. Not only did I witness the owner hitting and screaming at her horses and her dog, but my horse as well as several of the other horses there became head shy. While the paddocks look large and beautiful, there's no grass, and large rocks everywhere. The owner did not see it necessary to put hay out during the day, and was not feeding the correct amount of grain to the horses. The owner saw her time on her yacht more important than being present at the farm and doing everyday tasks around the barn. She is completely unprofessional and self-centered. She only does things that benefit her and that make her look better than everyone else. She is rude and unqualified to be "teaching" anything about horses to anyone. Half the time she passes her lessons on to a high school girl because she just doesn't want to teach. I spent my time at Echo Ridge Farm constantly worried about my horse's safety, and that is something a boarder should never ever have to worry about. I will never recommend anything about Echo Ridge to anyone. Ever. Do not board your horse here, do not take lessons here. read more

I am writing this in hopes that I can prevent others from going through what I went through. I made the mistake of boarding my horse at Echo Ridge Farm. Despite the SEVERAL warnings I was given by MANY about the Owner of Echo Ridge. From the outside it looks very nice and seems to be a great place to board your horse however, looks can be deceiving. The paddocks are big, nice stalls with ample bedding, Nice indoor etc. The paddocks while spacious are very unsafe. They are loaded with large sharp rocks,tree stumps and tree roots sticking out of ground. One of the paddocks has a shed in it with part of it laying on the ground loaded with nails. The owner decided to just put white tape around it instead of removing it. She had total disregard for the fact one of the horses may step on it. The Owner claims and advertises all day grass turnout however, the grass is pretty much nonexistent. Not only is there almost no grass she feels that she does not have to give the horses hay during the day. If you read her contract it claims the horses are fed hay 4 times a day, I assure you they are not. Since the paddocks are unsafe I, asked the Owner if I could move my horse to a different paddock as he was having some soundness issues. She responded by saying "I was bothering her and the turnout is what it is." The Stalls are deeply bedded and look nice however, they are bedded so deep because there are no mats underneath that bedding. That is right no mats instead the horses are standing on gravel and rocks. Some of the poor horses have massive holes in their stalls. Instead of leveling the stalls and matting them she just puts more bedding. I am not sure if she is just cheap or what her issue is. The trails she claims are maintained again they are not. She dumps all of her manure and shavings of the trails. They are unsafe and you cannot jump anything on them. If you look at the website it would appear the trails are beautiful and loaded with cross country jumps. If you go on the trails now you will see a few jumps that are falling apart and unsafe. The farm is not maintained at all! If you see something unsafe you have to fix it yourself or else it will not get done. I myself not including numerous others, have seen her yelling and beating her horses and poor dog on several occasions. I came to Echo Ridge looking for a safe, quiet place for my horse and myself. Instead I was always in fear for my horse and his safety. I stressed out if could not make it there everyday to check on my horse. The owner of this facility is the most unprofessional, sadistic, and cruel person I have EVER met. The only time that place is quiet is when she is not there. When she is present she makes it a very uncomfortable place because she acts as if she is better than everyone around her. If something is wrong with your horse she will text you not call you to make sure you are aware. If you read her contract it states she will do everything possible to get a hold of you in case of emergency again not true. She teaches lessons to mostly young kids and puts them on horses that are extremely unsafe. Iam shocked a child has not been injured yet in one of her lessons. This woman has no business teaching anyone anything about horses. She has clearly lost her passion for it and needs to get out of the business. All I can say is NEVER board your horses with this woman and or take lessons with her. read more
