New year, new review…read more Popped in after a morning of skiing New Year's Day and place was packed for lunch! I didn't mind as I was in no rush. As I waited in line I enjoyed conversations with both the people in front and behind me whom all have never been before. The joy and excitement on their faces as they made their way to order was priceless. As for myself, a small mac to help start the new year strong for total lbs sold (81k in 2024) and a small pulled pork. Wanted to order some other things but my refrigerator is full at home, so another time. If this will be your first time, just be aware of parking could be very busy as there's not much. Both ways before pull out of parking spaces as well. Main road can be a cluster at times. I also recommend getting lots of little things rather than a little of a lot. You can always come back for more!

A local had suggested this spot as a favorite roadtrip stop, and it is now my new favorite too!…read moreLimited parking and togo lines were long, but service was quick. There are 2 lines - deli and sandwiches. Great selection of Vermont-made snacks, drinks, and souvenirs as well. I ordered: - Macaroni and cheese ($4.29 per 1/2 lb) made with Vermont's Cabot cheddar cheese - very creamy, cheesy, and had a perfect texture. - Maple BBQ Pulled Pork ($5.99 per 1/2 lb) - very juicy and moist - Turkey Sandwich - had this the next day and it was still tasty. Not dry at all. All were very flavorful and delicious! Highly recommend visiting ~ I can't wait to be back :)

The space itself is small, so I'd definitely suggest calling ahead to see if they have room. There's basically no indoor waiting area, and standing by the door or outside in the winter, like we did, got uncomfortable enough that we almost left for another place, even though the wait was only about 20 minutes. Our server was friendly and tried to stay on top of things, but you could tell she was a bit overwhelmed with how busy it was and the constant flow of people coming through the door. In our group, a couple of the burgers came out very undercooked, with blood pooling on the plate. No one had been asked how they wanted their burger cooked and it wasn't mentioned when we ordered, so it was an unpleasant surprise even if it wasn't exactly anyone's "fault." I ordered the spicy Korean fried chicken sandwich, which ended up being just okay. The bottom of the bun was soggy, so it fell apart and was hard to pick up and eat. The kimchi on the sandwich didn't bring much flavor or heat, so it kind of missed the mark for something that's supposed to be a bold, spicy option.

This is our second time here. Tiny place (8 tables + bar)…read more Food: 5/5 we got the French onion grilled cheese and spicy Korean chicken sandwich which were both incredible. The beignets were the star of the show!! Plus the burgers are great too Service: 5/5 spot on and extremely efficient. To the point where we noticed that there's not one slacker on the staff, they work together and meet the needs of every customer. Exceptional! Vibe: 5/5 we love a good bar food, low frills place. It's homey and fun without being over the top. Overall would come back every time we're in Brattleboro

This is shaping up to be a better vacation, food-wise, than we expected. Yay!…read moreWe've stayed at B&Bs in Brattleboro for years, and this year in nearby NH, and we like to eat dinner in Brattleboro. This year, for the first time, we tried Blue Moose Bistro and found it to be wonderful! We started by sharing a special, a marvelous farro salad with spinach and chèvre. This was really delicious. I was tired and chose not to drink but tasted my husband's glass of montepulciano; it was a lovely red. Then my husband ordered the salmon and I had the pappardelle special. He loved his fish, served with vegetables. I asked our friendly cheerful waitress which she'd recommend; I was trying to decide between the pappardelle and the cacio e pepe. She thought for a bit and then suggested the pappardelle because it was extremely hot weather and she thought the lemony accent would be refreshing. I went with her choice and I have to say it was amazing! Very very good, and the lemon was indeed a bright note. We had plenty of time before heading to a concert, so we shared a tiramisu for dessert. Can't go wrong with tiramisu. A gentleman who was dining solo chatted with us. He lives in Brattleboro and told us that he makes a point of eating at this restaurant at least once a month. He and the chef were on a first name basis, Tom and Ken are the names I think I heard. Nice when locals eat at a place; I guess it keeps the good places in business out of season. We'll have to eat at Blue Moose again when we go back next year, and we definitely recommend it to you!
