From the moment we drove up the hill to get to the tasting room sitting at the top, I knew this would be a memorable experience on our first roadtrip from Seattle to Walla Walla. As my husband and I opened the doors to the building, a hallway with an upwards ramp greeted us. To the right, views of a room full of barrels holding the wines we were about to savor. Straight ahead at the end of the "tunnel," a natural soft light gleamed through floor to ceiling windows. And this was on a cloudy day. We reached the room full of windows and it was instantly the most beautiful tasting room I'd ever seen. I was so happy to be seated in the comfy swivel chairs right next to the window. Although the sky was overcast, it was so pleasant to rest our eyes on the clouds grazing over the rolling hills of the valley. A worker asked if we would like a welcome taste of their sparkling rosé, and we happily obliged. It was delicious. Afterwards, I did the tasting with the lighter wines, while my husband did the tasting of the reds. Of course we both shared sips of everything. A different worker gave us wonderful background info and explanations of each wine we sampled. He even suggested that we try one of the wines at the temp it was given, then warm the glass with our hands for a bit to see how it tasted at that temperature. It was really neat to taste the difference. Another worker with a cool turquoise bolo tie checked in on us and refilled our glasses with water. We felt so wonderfully taken care of. Every wine was delightful, but a few stood out the most... I can't quite remember them all but I believe we really liked the Sauvignon Blanc, a Grenache, and a Cab Franc. We didn't plan on buying bottles that day, but we hope to maybe find them at a store near us. In the end, we absolutely loved our experience at Echolands and vowed we would return the next time we're in Walla Walla. read more

We are wine drinkers of 30 years, beginning in Italy and Oregon, and have been coming to Walla Walla for 20 years. View: 5 Tasting room/property: 5 - We had seats by the windows and appreciated the electric car chargers. Service: 4 - We love coming to Walla Walla because we often get to talk with the wine maker. This was definitely not the case here. However, our host Thea was very knowledgeable and engaging! Wine Quality: 3 - We had a white flight and a red flight. The varietals and descriptions sounded like they matched our taste perfectly, but with the extra pours 7 of 9 missed the mark. My husband even questioned if they used an odd detergent to wash their glasses. A vintner in town told us their wines are improving, so we might try again, except for the next category... Overall Impression: 2.5 - The owners are two men who live out of state. MINUS. The estate is managed organically and sustainably. PLUS. Honestly this is probably enough reason for us to not return because there are so many amazing locally owned wineries in WW with better wine. read more

Impressive and relatively new winery in Walla Walla. The place would fit right in if it was in California or some other large wine region. Tasting room is huge and modern with floor to ceiling windows and a gorgeous view of the farmlands and Blue Mountains. There's also several lovely outside spaces. Service is friendly, yet formal with some great descriptions of the wines and their origins. Wines were all very nice. I especially liked the Syrah - we bought a 2020 and a 2021 Syrah for the anticipation of a vertical tasting some day. We ended up buying four bottles, waiving the tasting fees. Will definitely come here again - it's especially nice if you pair it with one of the many smaller wineries in Walla Walla to get the full range of experiences. read more

This was the best wine experience we have ever had in our life! OMG! The swivel seats melted us like butter. The wine was out of this world incredible. The grounds are majestic, stunning, beautiful and you literally have stepped into a fairytale here. This is the place you take your Mother too! The staff.... omg, let's talk about it. The female manager - I didn't get her name -- is incredible. The is setting up tables and working herself to the bone: hauling, bending, lifting, lugging stuff- all while smiling! I can tell she loves her job. She offered to take me in in a golf cart, in my silk sundress, down to see the baby goats! WHAT? How sweet was that! It didn't work out but the offer was worth mentioning here as it really made my day. We met everyone there and they are so unpretentious and down to earth in this uber classy, fancy, beautiful, high-end joint! : ) Our server Mike (with the Santa Fe Trail tie) was such a WONDERFUL human being. With each pour, I felt like he was St. Peter standing there at the Pearly Gates, with the keys to let me in. Haha! He knows his wines. He made us laugh all day -- he kept our seats for us while we went down to the grass to play a round of corn hole. He also kept the pours pouring! We shared stories about wine and life and he helped make this experience our favorite Walla Walla wine experience ever! What a joyful happy beautiful place this is! The winery itself is stunning, with jaw-dropping views! What a special location. The facility design is something straight out of Architectural Digest. Echolands Winery was the perfect venue to host an event (that was for a wonderful cause). The atmosphere was electric with an epic 80s party vibe. The food was delicious, and the wine was outstanding. The outdoor seating was so comfortable as we took in the views while the sun began to set. The owner gave us a tour of the facility and I could not have been more impressed. Looking forward to taking my future guests there for an unforgettable wine tasting experience! read more

Echoland is one of the most beautiful wineries I've ever seen. The tasting room is a modern open space with glass walls from the ceiling to the floor so that you can enjoy the gorgeous rolling hills around you. Remember that this winery has only been open since 2018, so they will continue to expand as they own over 300 acres. The wine you taste now, in 2025, is the one the owner created since its beginnings in 2018. The owner is a Master Somali and a winemaker. I am correct; the owner has a new winemaker working with their grapes, so what comes after this might differ. When you walk in, you are greeted by one of the four Soms and given a rosé tasting as they walk you to your seat. Full disclosure: My husband and I prefer lighter wines in general unless, for me, it is winter, but we know that this area is known for its reds, and we can taste anything, so we will see how it goes. We were lucky enough to sit in the green, swivel comfy chairs at the windows because there were just two of us for our tasting. We decided to get one of the tastings, as there are three in each tasting, so we could try all six of their wines. Tim, who was very knowledgeable and friendly, guided us through our wines. My husband selected Hills and Stones, which was the tasting of the lighter reds. The first two reds are even chilled. The first was called the Cinsault McKinnley, Grenache, and Syrah; of his three, the Grenache was our favorite. I selected the Walla Walla Welcome tasting. The Cabernet Franc was first for me, followed by the Rubrum and the Merlot. As is typical in the tasting, the flavors and feeling of the line get older and heavier as you go. My favorite was the cop, Frank, and then the Merlot. We heard that they made an Albarino at one point, but they were all out, and I'm sure we would've loved it. We almost took home a couple of bottles of rosé, but we passed since this was our first half-day of tasting wines in the region. read more

Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff! We were fortunate enough to be treated to a tour by Kurt and learned about the history and vision of Echolands. It's obvious that the owners care about creating delicious wine, in a way that contributes and is a steward to the local community and wider world. We met Kayla and Brian, the winemaker. Everything about the entire operation is a testament to quality and attention to detail. The tasting room features wall to ceiling windows overlooks fields of wheat, grape vines and Mill Creek. For our wine taking, we were served by Michael who comes across like your favorite uncle who makes you feel comfortable and cared for and who you quickly realize knows more than you can imagine about ever possible subject. Wow, wow, wow! Not only is this winery absolutely gorgeous with stunning views but their wine is delicious AND not insanely expensive considering the high quality! My husband and I joined their wine club after falling in love with them on our first visit but it wasn't until our second visit that we had the time to tour their facilities and sit down for an extended tasting (and beautiful charcuterie board) with wine educator, Thia. She was so warm, approachable and knowledgeable--the time flew by! We learned so much throughout our tour and tasting. You can really see and feel the care this team puts into every aspect of the winery, wine creation and presentation. We can't wait to go back and in the meantime, we'll enjoy and treasure their wines at home! read more
