Of all of the wineries in Walla Walla, this is the best! Great view of the vineyards, AMAZING wine and friendly staff. It is hard to find a winery that has it all, but this one does. Heather is fantastic and very great at making recommendations. I found my favorite wine here, all thanks to her: 2018 Sangiovese. 2019 is also good. Some friends and I visited Walla Walla vintners a couple days ago and we're greeted with some great tasting wine at a very reasonable price. There wasn't anything we tasted that we didn't really like and because the price is reasonable you can take more than one bottle home with you but the best part of the visit was meeting Dakota who was very charming and engaging and such a treasure trove of knowledge, she knew everything about the vineyard, it's history and all their wines, it was a real pleasure to meet her. Beautiful winery in Walla Walla. We stopped by here to have a glads of wine and not any tastings. We got lucky to grab a table here on a busy Saturday evening. The tasting experience itself was pretty standard - the typical explanation of the wines being poured and a little bit of the winery's history. All of the pours were tasty, but nothing outshone the Cab Franc, for which they are justifiably famous. The wine industry is huge in this part of the world. I had always thought the business of making wine had been around forever here, but I come to find it's on the order of 10-20years old. With that, Walla Walla Vinters is one of the first. The winery is located out of town and in nice setting surrounded by their own vineyard as well as others. We made it here for a tasting. I don't pretend to be a wine snob. In Sideways, I would definitely be Miles' friend Jack....Ummm yeah, I might drink a glass of wine with gum already in my mouth. With that said, we had a tasting of many of their wines. With only subtle differences, they all had a common taste---which is good because I liked all that I sampled. The commonality made non-trivial to pick a bottle. I simply went with one of the cheaper ones since I liked 'em all: yes, this is how I roll, son! All in all, a pleasant experience: friendly staff, good wine, excellent winery/location. read more

Walla WAlla Vintners is a true gem and I was glad I got an opportunity to stop by the tasting room after years of having their wine. The tasting room is set in the vineyard with simply lovely back drops and rolling fields of grapes. The tasting room is warm and welcoming and it was so nice to see one of the owners, Gordy, talking to visitors and pouring wine. There is no tasting fee, and there was a nice selection of wines to taste. I came home with the Washington State Cuvee red wine 2013. WWV serves up some of the best wine I've tasted in the region, particularly the Cabernet Sauvignons. We met the winemaker, who was genuine and an expert in his craft, so we knew we were in good hands with respect to quality. It's always refreshing to be in the presence of someone who holds such a passion for his profession, which enriches the expereince. I came away with three bottle of wine I know will age well and taste spectacular in the years to come. One only comment -- keeping the rating from going to 5 stars -- is that the tasting room wasn't as richly decorated. My wife and I enjoy touring wineries, but for slightly different reasons. For me it's primarily about tasting top wines, for her, ambience matters. The winery is in a beautiful setting in the midst of vineyards in a quiet corner of Walla Walla; however the decor and merchandise inside the tasting room could be improved for her benefit, which would undisputedly make WWV a premiere destination. All in all, we would definitely be back in the future, due to their emphasis on the quality of the wine. read more

We asked for suggestions for hotels and they found us a discount coupon for one they were happy to recommend to us. Top notch wine. Setting the bar for what it means to call yourself a Walla Walla winemaker. Off the beaten path, you'll find it well worth your time to head due east out of Walla Walla to visit this winery. Visited Walla Walla Vintners Labor Day weekend and had a great time with Gordy and his team. The grounds are amazingly beautiful, and the tasting room is quaint. We had a prearranged group of 8, and Gordy was so accommodating. We had a picnic outside and enjoyed a bottle of the Cab Sauv and Sangio while we noshed. Gordy was kind enough to give us a small tour of a row of syrah grapes and also the barrel room. His story was genuine, and full of excitement. Passion for wine runs through him. Walla Walla Vinters is a bit of a drive from downtown but it's worth it if you happen to enjoy reds that have a bit of a zing and haven't yet mellowed out. The server was friendly, there were pretzels, crackers, and chocolate available to cleanse your palette, and everyone there seemed to be having a good time! No tasting fee to boot. The wines weren't up our alley, but that's hardly their fault. The older gentleman pouring the wine really seemed to enjoy what he does. read more
