I can't say enough good things about Eclipse Painting. Steve's quote was reasonable compared to other's we had received; and we solicited about 5 quotes after having a very bad experience with another painter that we had to fire in the middle of our project. Our project consisted of extensive drywall repairs after trim and chair rail removal. Painting, Wallpapering a 25ft stairwell, stairway railings, door painting and of course ceilings and trim. The photos don't do the job justice as we had work upstairs, downstairs, and even a repair job to the side of the house from water damage. Steve's employees were extremely skilled, fast, neat perfectionists. They weren't beginners or summer college students. They were very experienced at what they do. The price stuck at exactly what he quoted even though there were some adjustments here and there. The wallpaper job was exemplary and we were very particular about that aspect because it was custom wallpaper and very expensive. Steve is not a pressure salesman and he just does what he says he's going to do, and the work was perfect and fast. Had a very delicate (technical) grass cloth wall covering hung by Eclipse and outcome was fantastic. They were punctual, highly responsive and clearly skilled. I actually had to call them back to repair a section of the wall covering I personally damaged and they restored it perfectly and did not gauge me on pricing. This review is long overdue...Last Spring I called around and got a few estimates to have the exterior of my cedar home restained. Steve came out and thoroughly explained what they would do regarding the prep work and staining of the house. His price was competitive with my other estimates so I decided to go with his company. His crew arrived on time and finished in a timely manner. They did a fantastic job! The most important (and time consuming) part of most paint/stain jobs is the prep work. So first off, I have hired painting crews in the past, so you know I have a basis of comparison between Eclipse and other companies. They are professional and do high-quality work at a fair price. My past experience with most painter/decorators is that usually they usually fall into two buckets: 1) Quality workmanship but overpriced or 2) Lower price but poor workmanship you won't be happy with if you take pride in your home.
