My refrigerator was not cooling, called Econo and they send a service guy over by the name of George. He took the model number and told me that it needed a new fan to get the cool air to circulate the freezer and the refrigerator and that he would be back, I was under the impression that this all would happen immediately, but nothing happened so I called the company the next day, got to speak with a woman at the place that told me, they text me about the parts needed, a fan motor and thermostat and that it would cost me $ 380.00, would take a week to order, in turn told her that besides being a lot of money all the food would be spoiled, and that is not what George told me, besides I told George that I only had a landline and email in case that you have to contact me, she then told me to call George that took me 6 calls at different times to get him on the telephone! I explained what the woman told me and in turn he was going to call her and call me back. This never happened. not getting anywhere with these people I contacted someone else, just happened that their service mechanic was in my area and would be over shortly after finishing his service call. He came and checked out the GE refrigerator, told me no problem, went to work right away, took the base cover of the freezer, a total of 4 screws ad two on the base of the top cover and in doing so got access to the fan motor, now testing, the fan motor was ok and after checked a thermostat that was clipped on the freon line and showed it was defective, replaced it and the refrigerator now working fine! (Thermostat looked like a grey candy "1.5 inch long") with a clip on it and two wires coming out of it) The person was here 45 minutes, had lots of equipment and parts neatly in his truck, charged me $ 15.00 for the part, a far cry from $380.00 and since I was 92 years old, for the service call charged me $75.00. Econo has several good ratings, but actually are scammers, their address is fake "487 Federal Road, Brookfield", I went to, there is no Econo Appliance Service there, they are located somewhere in a private neighborhood, in a private residence, tried to find them at that place and gave up! If you go on their web site it shows a flag in a field far away from Federal Road! This place is terrible don't . I had them checked my GE washer February . Waited a month for them to install part . Turns out they put the wrong part in. They came back after week put in another part. Washer worked for 3 1/2 months broke again I tried for a week for them to answer the phone then another week for them to show up. They sent a guy flash a light on the machine and said the part is defaulted. And his office will call with the arrangements to replace it again . And so no one ever called to resolve the matter nor do they answer the phones . read more

Terrible. If I could give this business ZERO stars I would. I do not trust them, and feel compelled to warn others. I wish I had read some of the reviews before calling them for service. We needed an assessment of our washing machine, due to a burning smell after the spin cycle. Technician gave us a window of 8 - 1, but arrived late at 2:30, without a courtesy call. He was at our home for a total of 5 minutes - no exaggeration. He opened the front door (it's a front loader), felt the inside of the drum and then proceeded to charge us for the service call to the tune of $175 telling us, (without even opening the machine in ANY other way), that we would need a $600+ "drum job." This is a SCAM, in my opinion. After he left, we ran the self-clean cycle on a whim (figured what do we have to lose) and now our machine has been running properly and efficiently ever since. This company literally banks on the fact that none of us know how to fix a washing machine and therefore will not question their quickie assessment. The next day, after thinking about it, we called to express (politely) our dismay, and the company gave us the run around as well as excuses. They were argumentative and defensive. They made NO EFFORT to make things right with us, their paying customers. In fact, they treated us horribly and we are out $175 for 5 minutes of NOTHING but the time it took to write the service call sales receipt. A doctor can't tell you that your leg is broken without an x-ray. A mechanic can't tell you what's wrong with your vehicle without starting it, or looking under the hood. Yet, we are supposed to fork over $600 to have our washer fixed without actually seeing the inside? The guy googled pictures of broken parts, and told us "this is what it probably looks like inside." What reputable appliance repair company does this?? Three conversations with the company later, their heels are dug in. Apparently they do not care about unsatisfied customers. They count on those who do not question them, and those who simply accept a 5 minute diagnosis without backup or ample explanation. They were not willing to offer any rectifying action, which is why I am warning others. BEWARE. This company should NOT be in business. read more

The worst service experience of my life. This was for a water valve in a front load washer. It took a week between the initial visit and the repair. He arrived at 1:45 for an 8-1 window forthe install. On the initial visit he told my wife he would replace the rubber water hoses with braided stainless (which I had already planned to do when a I first pulled the machine out from the wall.) When he arrived to do the repair, there were no stainless hoses. He reinstalled it with the old hoses and left it go my wife to push this incredibly heavy machine back in herself. Now I'll have to pull it out again after I get the new hoses. Moral of this story - if you hire this company be sure to have at least a week's supply of clean BVD's, and take a full day off work for the 10 minute service appointment. I had them fix my oven recently and was very satisfied. The 2 men that came were professional and friendly. The figured out exactly what was wrong and had it fixed in 15 minutes. They were reasonably priced. I would 100% use them again to fix any of my appliances! read more

I called up because they were one of the few places around that would "fix" a GE dishwasher. My appointment was scheduled between 10-12. The guy showed up at 12:36pm. Fine, I get it, you ran late no big. No phone call for a heads up, but that's ok. He shows up by himself and had ZERO clue what he was doing. I explain that it has still and standing water in the dishwasher and if he opens it all the way, water would pour on the floor... he doesn't listen and the water soaks the kitchen... He had no towels, no drop cloths, and didn't even attempt to clean the water. Instead, he calls someone who also had no idea what they were doing as water is pouring on my kitchen hardwood. I tell him about the water that is clearly saturating my floor, and he says, "Do you have a shop vac? I'll clean it..." I said, "you don't have one?" he said he forgot it at someone else's house... after that, he calls another person who gives us a story that the computer is broken. He would charge me $380 just for the part and today I had to pay them $158... I asked for what, and he said diagnostics... Spoiler alert (it wasn't the computer). He then said it was company policy and wouldn't leave without payment.. THEN TRIED TO TELL ME THAT HIS BUDDY HAS USED ONES THAT HE WOULD SELL ME FOR CASH, I JUST WASNT ALLOWED TO TELL HIS COMPANY!" He runs my card, takes the money and leaves. Doesn't clean the mess, and it was a MESS. Two boards buckled because of this guy.. Well I go on YouTube, find how to reset the dishwasher, and just like that it works like a charm. The lady I called to explain this to her, didn't give a shit, and told me they had to charge me no matter what. THESE PEOPLE ARE BRUTALLY AWFUL. Oh my god DO NOT use these people!! Not only did they make such a mess the technicians didn't want to clean the gunk under the stove top . The worst company I've encountered in years. They think their fast talking smiling face can make up for their poor work. Never ever ever will I use these people again!!!! I had a LG refrigerator I had purchased at Sears it was 5 years old. It basically died Sears came out and parts were ordered. I could not get them back to install parts. After 6 weeks I was fed up. Every time I made an appt it was canceled. I contacted LG who put me in touch with Econo Appliance they were wonderful. They made an appt, showed up on time and repaired my refrigerator. I can't say enough. The repair persons were courteous and knowledgeable. My refrigerator was fixed in 2 hours. Thank you Econo Appliance. read more

Beware - these guys are a rip off. Told me I needed a new motor on my washer, which cost over $250. After that was done, machine still did not work - they came back and said I needed a new drum, which would be another $250+. Since I was not interested in spending over $500 to fix a 5 year old machine that only cost $1000 new, the technician said they would refund the cost of the motor since they misdiagnosed the original problem. But the owner refused to honor that commitment and now I out $250 and have to buy a new machine. These guys take no accountability for their work. Had to chase them down to get follow up and went almost 3 weeks without washer only to find out I need a new one. Unless you have a lot of time and money to waste, go elsewhere. read more

DO NOT CALL ECONO APPLIANCE REPAIR! We had Econo Appliance Repair come out on Monday, December 30th. The man was here about ten minutes and said he neededd to order parts. Due to the holiday, the parts may not be in until Friday, and they'll call us to schedule the repair once they arrive. Over a week goes by and WE call, they say the parts are in and they make an appointment. When they come out for the repair they say they need another part, same drill, they'll order and cal uss. Two weeks passes, we keep calling. Finally, someone calls back and says the part is on back order. Now it is 4 weeks since the first appointment. FOUR WEEKS WITH NO WASHING MACHINE! And they don't even call, wwe have to call time after time. At first appointment they have us pay half of the fee. Now, a month later, the machine is still broken. We've needed to go to the laundromat countless times. And Econo has no idea when they'll get the part. So we cancel and request a refund and THEY WILL NOT REFUND US. read more

They did the same thing to me that they did with James J. They cancelled my appointment (made close to a week ago) and then never bothered to tell me!! When I asked for additional information, they refused to give it, just telling me I had to call the warranty company. They cancelled my appt without reason and didn't reschedule.
