For less than $130 per night for a king room in Corvallis... This place is 5-stars! King Suite (comes with a 2-cushion couch and sitting area with a separate lamp for reading. The bed is a-ok and comes with plenty of pillows with various preferences in mind. The towels are clean and excellent for exfoliation. The shower water pressure is awesome and the bathroom fan works great and is on the quiet side. Bring your own soaps and stuff. This is standard motel toiletries. The room includes a compact fridge and freezer, but better than most motels because the freezer has a separate door and fits a decent amount of frozen stuff. Standard microwave. A practical square table with 2 full sized dining room chairs along the same wall. The heating/cooling is easy to use and works instantly. No weird smells, no dust. Excellent location close to Trader Joe's and Grocery Outlet among many others. Lots of restaurant choices. It's located a main road, but I heard zero road noise due to the upgraded double pane windows. The room has been recently renovated (no motel carpeting here), very clean, great location. An excellent budget motel in Corvallis. I HIGHLY recommend this budget motel for an overnight or a long weekend. No transient activity here. I tried to have a brave face for this room experience. The room was $185 per night. Which is kind of a lot of money for what I got. Room was not very clean. Carpet and armchair were stained. I could not go barefoot or my feet would get sticky. The blanket seemed gross. It would be better to wrap the blankets in sheets. The bathroom floor corners were dirty. The tub had hair and a pubic hair in the drain. It's not the dirtiest room I've ever stayed in but I never paid $185 for a room with two queen beds and have to wear shoes and wonder how much man juice was all over the stained chair and bedspreads. Even the room keys were dirty, as was the plastic stand that held the "how are we doing" cards. The carpet in the halls and stairs were stained. At least the room was big enough. Kishan shouldn't have a job requiring interpersonal communication. He's rude and, IMO, racist. I understand having a job you don't like but this seems to be a theme with Choice Hotels. We made two requests of Kishan to provide his manager's name and he refused. We were told, the day prior, that we could check in early if the room is ready. There was no mention of an additional charge. Kishan had an attitude from the start and wanted $20 for us to check in two hours early. When confronted about it, his attitude got worse (which I didn't think was possible). He said, "we can talk about canceling your reservation." Really Kishan? Thank you. You just canceled any future reservation we will ever make with Choice Hotels. You should find a therapist, girlfriend/boyfriend...whatever you're in to and anything that helps you with your disdain for this life and the people with whom you come in contact. In all seriousness, get some help Kishan. Everyone deserves to be happy. To Choice Hotels...he needs to be in the back of the house or the soup kitchen. We came down for an evening OSU game and booked this spot just a few days prior to arriving. It isn't the closest to the University but easy enough to get a uber to! We were not able to check in to our room early, however we called and they let us come over around 11 and get a parking pass and room keys so when the game was over we could just go into our room! I had heard a few things about this spot but it beat my expectations. Clean and well-kept, but hey at the end of the day remember this is motel and it isn't gonna be the Ritz. read more

Arrived around 8:15 Friday night to a rather full parking lot but still plenty of places to park. Strolled in expecting to see a "Back in 5 minutes" sign that other reviewers have mentioned but that wasn't the case. James the newish general manager was right there and had me checked in in a matter of minutes. There was some issue with my booking as it was through a 3rd party website (expedia, hotels.com, etc) but he sorted that out and was able to get us a room and waived the extra fee since it wasn't either of our fault that the 3rd party website was garbage. Room was better & cleaner than expected. Wi-Fi worked fine, shower had hot water, room had a nice mini split fridge/freezer combo which was nice. read more

This has been an interesting experience. Room was about what one would expect for a hotel of this type. Very expensive for what what it is, but that isn't all that unusual for Corvallis on football game weekends. It was after we left that the problems started. A few days after we left, we noticed a $40 charge that we did not authorize. When questioned about this we were told it was because was has a dog in the room. We most certainly did not have a dog in the room - in fact, my wife and youngest son didn't stay there the first night ( Friday) so we wouldn't have to leave the dogs alone for two nights. After arguing with the manager for a half hour, we told him that we would just dispute the charge with out credit card company and they could prove it to them (there were TONS of cameras across the property) While on the phone with the credit union, they called us back, apologized, and said they would refund the $40. Imagine my shock when, instead of refunding our money, there were two ADDITIONAL $40 charges on our credit card. When we called back this time we were told they couldn't do anything about it and to dispute it with our credit union. Of course we will do that. These folks need to take a serious look at their business practices - from my perspective they are trying to rip people off every chance they get. This will be my last stay and this hotel, and likely any others from the same chain. read more

This was as about 3 stars as you can get - perfectly average, nothing truly great, but nothing terrible. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The breakfast was the barest of bones for continental breakfast (but on the plus side, Trader Joes is right across the street, so get breakfast there instead). Front desk staff was adequate but not that communicative. The heating/cooling unit was not great, it got really hot really fast but then the temperature dropped as soon as you shut it off. The windows open, which is great because the rooms get a little stuffy. Good sized parking lot. It was pretty cheap when I stayed (around $75 for a double double room) but I'd imagine it's more when there are OSU games. As I said, very average. If you're looking for a cheap room and this is in your price range, but don't want anything fancy, this is your spot. read more

Coming in at 3AM after a long ass flight, and a long drive (from LA, to Portland then Portland to Corvallis) I came in to find a woman with purple hair clearly tired, at the desk. She began to give me attitude and I was just as tired and didn't appreciate it nor was I in the mood to take attitude from anyone. And she didn't like it when I gave her the same attitude right back at her so she began to threaten me telling me she was the manager and that she could "gladly check me out" at 3AM. Then she continued to complain about her having a long "16 hour shift" AS IF THAT WERE MY FAULT IN ANY WAY. I work in customer service and I would never complain to my guests about the amount of hours or how long my days are. Someone needs to hire more employees so she can get sleep and not be rude to people that are supposed to feel welcome. Manager's name is Yanina. read more

I booked a room here for my mother in-law due to level 1 evacuation in her small community... she has severe asthma...I should have looked at the reviews and pictures of the Econo Lodge before booking but after making several calls to local hotels that had no rooms available. I went for it because I wanted her to be safe for the night. Customer service was the worst. the women at the front desk was so rude. My mother in-law asked her for help to fill out some paperwork because of her parkinson induced tremors and this women at the front desk with only 3 teeth left in her mouth yelled "oh dear god give it to me, I'll fill it out" who acts like this? She made my mother in-law feel terrible! Corvallis has so many great options. please don't stay here. It was not a nice place. also would like to add that they charged her a $50 cleaning deposit... She is a 75 year old on a fixed income. we paid for the room through expedia they should have charged my CC and not ask her for a dime. We've moved her to a nicer hotel. This was a great room. I can say that it the staff was as helpful as the rooms were nice, I would give this hotel a better rating. This morning when we were getting ready to check out, there was a sign on the counter that said "be back in 15 minutes." We were unaware of how long it had been there, but soon found that it took longer than 15 minutes for the front counter worker to return. While waiting, we packed our car and walked to Jamba Juice. When we returned (15 mins later) the front still had their sign posted. So we sat and waited. About 10 more minutes passed and a black sedan pulled up into the loading parking space and entered the front desk space. She did not ask us about our stay or our plans for the day, just a "hey." Worst customer service! Booked through Hotels.com, had to change the dates, not length of stay. It took almost a week for Hotels.com to contact Econo Lodge for the change cause the general manager, Yanina doesn't return calls or respond to emails. When the change was made Econo Lodge said that there was not going to be any extra charges for the change. They charged me twice! I was given the run around by the hotel. I contacted hotels.com and they called Econo Lodge and all of a sudden they said they changed their mind and they were not going to refund me for dates I changed.On top of that I had 2 other charges after I checked out and they are saying a system error, really?!?! Get it together. Looks like there's some customer service training needed for the general manager. Don't say one thing and change your mind, very unprofessional and unethical. A 48 year old friend of mine lost both of the jobs he was working during the coronavirus outbreak. When he realized that he might have CoVid-19, he spent all of the last of his money, trying to quarantine himself from high-risk people in the home he shared with another man until the results of his test came in. He paid for 3 nights. He had nowhere else to go. He was in the hotel for one night. There, he got seriously sick rapidly. An ambulance picked him up 2.5 hours after "checkout time" on the second day. I called to get 2 nights refunded. Econo Lodge refused to be flexible. This man, deathly ill, missed checkout time so he owed Econo Lodge for 2 nights. I said that he needed the money to eat. They said they wouldn't even refund the single night over the phone. They said he had to be present, in person. Further, they were rude on the phone, talking over the top of me repeatedly. As if they wanted to "shut me down" and get rid of the inconvenience. So, if my friend, who has no family dies, Econo Lodge keeps the money. If he recovers, he has no money to buy food until he is well enough to go to Econo Lodge himself. I pleaded with them to adjust to the obvious unusual circumstances. Nope. So, I am sorry to have a low estimation of this place. we stayed here for two nights on either side of the eclipse and paid gouging prices for the Sunday night, but that's on me: I knew it was high; everywhere was outrageous. Seeing the full eclipse was worth it. But for the over-$500 price, they could have at least cleaned the bird poo off the window and come in some time on Monday to clean the room. The room air conditioner is vintage 1970; loud, moist and awful. Vending machines were out of order, the desk clerk was non-communicative. They included a breakfast but it was pretty depressing. This hotel, its staff, and especially its manager are ruthless. We made reservations 3 months ago, for the sole purpose of taking our son to OSU. The morning we were to arrive, someone left a message on my cell phone at 5:42 am. It said, call us by 7 am or we are going to give your room to someone else. Well, I did not check messages until 9 am. Called immediately, and they had given our room away!! Unf¥¥¥ing believable, the woman was downright beligerant and hung up on us when we called. Long story short: we made reservations thru Expedia. We paid $86/nite. They sold our room to others for $229. We got screwed because this horror of a woman saw an opportunity to make more money. RUN! Everything else was booked but this sad, depressing inn. The staff look like they don't even want to be here either. The cleaning staff is rather terrible, they don't even clean. They didn't give clean towels or bed sheets, they didn't refill the tissue or toilet paper, they didn't vacuum or clean anything in the room. The only thing they did was make the beds. I'm sure they inn hides behind the excuse of "being green" but are really just lazy and cheap. Last resort type of place when you have no where else to go. I've been in nicer motel 6s that had better breakfast. Not too much $$$$ but not sure it's worth what is being charged. On the bright side, no cockroaches, rats, hookers, or meth addicts (at least none I could see) They are remodeling, so maybe it's on the upward trend. I would likely not stay here again. No pool, but they do have a tree fenced off with a big blue metal fence. I give this motel a negative ---5 stars!!!! Worst motel stay I have ever had!!!! First we reserved 3 rooms a year in advanced. They charged each of us for all three rooms. We had 3 very quiet dogs which we told them at the desk and paid the pet fee when we checked in. After the first my daughter, that is 31 years old and was graduating that weekend as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with honors, was walking down the hall when a man from the front desk yelled at her stating that she had 5 dogs in her room and she did not pay for them. She stated that we had only 3 dogs in two of the rooms and we had paid for them when we checked in. Then when he looked up the rooms with the charges it did showed not only did we pay for the rooms but they charged all three rooms to 3 different cards. He did not apologize and when we asked for reversal of the charges, he stated he could not do credits only the manager could and she was not there. When we asked when she would be available he stated at 11:00pm. So we said we will be back to talked to her then. We went on with our graduation plans. The manager called my daughter and wanted to discuss the issue over the phone. My daughter stated she could not discuss it over the phone she was in the middle of something and would be back at the previously stated time to discuss it in person. When we came back to our rooms in the afternoon to change for the next activity, we were unable to get into our rooms. When we went to the front desks to have them check our keys because they were not working, we were told that they intentionally locked us out of ours rooms and we're kicking us out!?!? It wasn't until we called the police did they let us back it the rooms. The man in the front office still stated he wanted to kick my daughter out because she kept requesting for him to let us back in the rooms. Now mind you she did not yell or use profanity but continued to use rational, clear speech, that he had no reason to lock us out of the rooms and that he needed to let us in the rooms and he was acting very unprofessionally. After we were allowed back in the rooms, I noticed we did not have any more facial tissue and the nice maid was outside our door so I went and said thank you for cleaning our room but we are out of tissue, may I get a refill? She stated that they were out of tissue, when I said Really? She went into the room she was cleaning and said here I will trade you and handed me a box of tissue. So that night at 11pm as requested the manager, my daughter and my sister (who is a business owner) went down to front office to talk to the manager. They were down there for 2 hours! Never once was there an apology. She was as difficult as the man to deal with trying to solve the issue of over payment. She was dressed and spoke very unprofessionally. So lack of customer service, trying to kick out people that have paid in advance for several rooms for several nights and overcharging. We didn't even go to their breakfast so they made extra money there as well. The rooms were shoddy and not well maintained either. I traveled to Corvallis from Chicago to drop my daughter off to Oregon State University. My in-laws have a time share and decided to use their point through choice hotels. The agent selected this hotel for us. Now granted I've stayed at an Econo Lodge before and thought ehhhh shouldn't be bad. Upon arriving no one was at the front desk, no biggie, right? WRONG! Rang the little bell on desk and out shoots a young boy that looks about 8 or 9 and ask if he could help me? Why sire you can I'm checking in, he then takes off saying let me get my mom! (First red flag) up the hall from one of the rooms comes the lady with 3 teeth in her mouth (that the other unsatisfied customer in the reviews above described) she completes my check-in with a very disrespectful $250 deposit. (You've got to be kidding) I proceed to my room on the 2nd floor that smelled of mothballs. Make into my room, my daughter and I pull back the linen on both beds to know avail both stained and dingy! So I'm very annoyed now! I then start to peel through the room inspecting and discover drug paraphernalia. So I'm sure you know how this ended!!! PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! There's a reason the rate is low here. The room warmer supplied is kinda wonky, the TV can't remember what volume it was at, the landline phone sounds like shit, and the bathtub tends to creak and grind when someone uses it. Had to stay here between homes, and a Latina worker turned down an extension request just because of one little yell I let out over a technical issue with something I brought with me. She even came to my room and threatened me, at which time she admitted to LIVING there and looking after her baby on the job (I saw her carry him around when she stepped in). So long story short, the rooms are sucky and they hired an unstable single mom with no qualms about living in a motel stockroom. read more

I booked a 5 night stay at this hotel using one of the major travel websites. When I checked in, the clerk informed me that I would have to pay an additional $50 for "incidentals." I asked where that charge was in writing, and most importantly, where it was written that I could have my money returned to me. It was nowhere to be found. I had her write on my receipt what the charge was for and would be returned at checkout. Just as I suspected, although I videotaped the room condition (to protect myself) and confirmed following our departure, my funds have NOT been returned. I have written a complain with the BBB, and am escalating to other consumer protection agencies. I wonder how many other guests have been scammed by these people? How many guests have lost their $50 for nothing at all. My stay was prepaid. This same clerk (or manager) had the absolute gall to yell, "Well you shouldn't book through a 3rd party!" Of course, this is absurd. Every major hotel and hotel chain in the world relies on Expedia, Travelocity, etc., to book their empty rooms. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! Great value for the area, I've stayed here many times on business trips. Like most inexpensive hotels, the wifi is spotty, accoutrements are limited, in-room coffee is awful, and breakfast is as meager as they come. However, a helpful and continually-improving staff, pretty solid beds and showers, and consistent room quality keep this at the top of my list for budget hotels in Corvallis. The new odd little bedside alarm clocks with USB and AC for charging your phone and iPad are actually a really useful touch. All around a safe bet if no-frills is what you want. read more

My family and I were traveling for past 12 hours, pretty late when we got here, Checked in at 2 am, was told there is an UPGRADE charge of $15.00 for room, I asked for 2 queen beds. I then asked are you full? the parking lot was empty, This was after already being charged $85.00 for the room. Went to use Laundry facilities and they were broken. Went to use the internet and it kept kicking me off, went to fax and was told it was $2.00 for first page $1.00 for second. asked for an additional hand soap and they referred me to the vending machine. Room smelt moldy and unclean, hallway was worse as they had the windows open to the smoking area, Breakfast consisted of Watered apple juice, stale bagels and a waffle machine that does not heat up, kitchen tables were dirty, no towels in sight to clean. Don't waste your money here!! After a long day of traveling into town for a funeral, we arrived at 2 AM to an empty front desk. After waiting a few minutes someone finally came out of the back room. She was wearing a hoodie, her hair was a mess- basically she just woke up from a nap in the back room. She had purple hair and claimed she was the manager and didn't tell us her name. Extremely unprofessional! She checked us in and gave us one key, when I asked for an extra one, she said someone had already checked in and she gave them the key. Clearly a bit confused I asked what she meant by that because the reservation was under our names. She said it was my problem that someone else checked into our room? After questioning their check in process she said "stop giving me attitude or I'll check you out right now and you can figure it out" she went on to cancel all the keys she gave out and gave us 2 new keys and we went up to our room only to find that the door was open! Nothing was missing so we just went to sleep. We woke up to their continental breakfast which consisted of extremely watered down beverages and bagels. Throughout our 3 day stay not once did we see anyone at the front desk except when we waited there and rung the bell multiple times. As we checked out, a different girl took the keys and did something on the computer and then walked away. We rang the bell again to ask if we were checked out and she nodded her head and walked away.
