Really a wonderful old world motel. Clean and friendly. Charming and another superlative I can't think of. Highly recommended.

This place was Super clean and staff was friendly. It's centrally located. Furniture was older but well maintained. Beds were comfortable.

The only downside was that the Wi-Fi was a little slow and bogged down sometimes during the busy evening hours.

The breakfast had many options to choose from including almond milk for the cereal. They also provide sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon and evening which is nice. Upon request you can have the ADA shower seat. Now for the not so great- the ADA room we had seemed pretty worn down from the mattress that had no support and creaked, to the broken outlet on the wall, broken ADA shower floor, toilet that flushed twice every time you flushed and used SO MUCH WATER, the bathroom sink counter that sounded like any pressure on it would cause it to fall off the wall, super outdated old fabric couch, carpet that desperately needs to be replaced, plus no recycling seen anywhere in the hotel. Also the bench for luggage was placed right where someone navigating thru the room would be hitting it so we moved the bench to reveal the broken outlet cover. The first night it sounded like a herd of elephants were staying above us for many hours at bedtime. Of the three nights the last two were the Friday and Saturday of OSU's family weekend so price gouging was happening. $151.38 for Thursday night but $359.19 for the next two nights was crazy for the issues with the room we had. It's unfortunate because the employees were nothing but kind and helpful, but I do not see us staying here again for the price we paid compared to the accommodations we had. From reviews it seems like possibly certain rooms have been renovated while others are in desperate need of being overhauled.

The air conditioner did not work; the desk chair was so worn that it would not be acceptable for a thrift store donation; furniture was scratched a chipped; and the shower head poking through a hole in the wall.

My wife knows I like quirky lodgings, and she said, "I think I found you one." Sure enough. Hotel Corvallis is a mid-century motel, tastefully-remodeled travel hotel, with upscale fixtures and, literally, the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. So good that I took a photo of the label. We are buying that same mattress. The rooms have been redone and are spotless, quiet and comfortable. (Did I mention the bed?) No coffee, fridge or microwave, but free coffee at the coffee trailer, and a voucher for a free breakfast at the adjoining diner. (Only the breakfast is free there. Coffee costs you five bucks! But the breakfast is good, unlike most motel fodder.) Incredibly quiet, even though it's located on busy 4th Street, in a spotty area of town. No noise, even when a busload of track students came in. Zero noise. None. Summary: You won't get a better deal in a more convenient location, and if you like fun, clean and quirky, it's your place. The staff are, as advertised, very polite and helpful. I am back in Corvallis next month, and I will be staying at the Hotel Corvallis.

We should have known how bad it was going to be when the lobby smelled like a cat litter box and the pool was closed by the health department. Next, room one. We opened the door and the room smelled like DEATH, like the apartment in SEVEN, minus the hanging airfreshner. My son immediately exited and went outside and threw up. Soooo yah we need another room?? Room two - directly under room one - smell was less pungent but still there. Ok let's open the window maybe and inspect the bed - up that's when I saw it. BUGS / Spiders IN THE BED. We immediately exited. The host at the desk was frustrated and also understanding, I was under the impression this happens often. We were able to get a refund and thankfully a nice clean comfortable room at Hotel Corvallis.

The beds are comfortable enough and the rooms have a TV and a mini fridge. The towels were clean. Some of the pillow cases were stained, but smelled washed. The "breakfast" is now just coffee and hot cocoa packets with a few red apples and mini cups of yogurt. The Pool and Hot Tub are PERMANENTLY out of service and have been for a few years now; since ~2021. They use the indoor pool/hot tub area to store furniture. It's a budget motel in Corvallis for ~$110 per night. The homeless/transient drug addicted population is in full force. By sunset they all commune near the "pet area" on the corner of the motel barricading themselves against the only door accessing the pet area. You have to get past a wall of smoke, piles of belongings on tarps, dogs and tweekers to access the designated "pet area". For those living in their cars parked in the motel spaces, they are constantly emptying their cars and re-arranging piles of belongings laid all over the parking lot. At night they like to "work on" their broken bicycles in front of the side door closest to the pet area and ride around in circles in the motel parking lot by the dumpsters and stop frequently to look in car windows. There are many leashed dogs that they claim are friendly, but became extremely aggressive with my dog when attempting to pass on the sidewalk towards the "pet area". It's always been a problem at this location, but it seems that the Super 8 now openly welcomes the river encampment residents to hang out at the motel. In the later evening hours I encountered several of the river people randomly roaming the hallways and checking random doors like they were on a mission or something. Not just sketchy anymore, it now feels unsafe. This area is obviously on camera. The real problem is that the guy who works evenings (has been for many years) is part of their community and actually takes his smoke breaks outside with a few of them by the pet area and this all seems business as usual. That makes sense why he just grumbled under his breath when I told him that people were blocking access to the designated "pet area". The encampments begin in the corner parking lot by the pet area continues down the back steps of the property and fully lines both sides of the sidewalk along the river (public space). There are piles of fecal matter, trash and tarps of belongings, and vomit lining the path from the motel side door all the way to the sidewalks leading to the river walkway. A few people in the groupings were fine and going about their business. In the later afternoon, I was halfway down the motel stairs walking my dog towards the river across the back parking lot and some nut case started waving his arms and screaming at me to "go around!". Go around what? Encampments were everywhere and I was on the motel steps at the time. A couple of people apologized for the guy screaming at me and tried to redirect his attention. This place has gone downhill and the staff is part of a bigger issue. It is now unsafe. I would not stay here again. Sad to see such a nice location taken over by mental illness and addiction.
