I stayed at Econo Lodge in Fallbrook (3/18 - 3/20). I was pleasantly surprised that the owners (Manny and his wife) remembered me from my prior stay in 2015. They are a very friendly and accommodating couple. I needed help with my two suitcases and the desk clerk was quick to assist. The room was very clean and well kept. After a restful night, I headed to an early appointment the next morning. I returned to find my room cleaned and ready for another night. Rooms were ok but couch was filthy and bedding had stains. Homeless were sitting on the back stairs with all their stuff and dogs under the stairs. I felt very unsafe. I had an incident with someone following me and no help from the manager/owner with it. The lobby had boxes everywhere and no coffee or breakfast in the morning. It was during the festival and it felt very unwelcoming. I stayed at this place years ago for a weding at the Grand Tradions and it has gone downhill ever since. Very unsafe place to stay. read more

Me and my girlfriend needed last minute sleeping accommodations due to having issues with our previous hotel and Econolodge came through! We arrived at around 11pm at night and we were able to get a nice, clean, air conditioned room for a great price. The hotel was in a decent location for what we needed on our way home. The room itself was okay, not great. We had a kitchenette which was nice so we could reheat our food and keep our leftovers in the refrigerator. The downside, there were ants in the bathroom (not a lot, but enough to notice). The shower curtain bar was somewhat damaged and hanging from the wall (I called immediately when I noticed it so they didn't charge me for it) and bc of the broken shower rod, the curtain wouldn't stay closed while showering. For a quick inexpensive stop it was what we needed. A little more attention to the cleanliness and upkeep would be nice for guests. read more

We reserved 4 days over Memorial Day weekend. We took our small dog and arrived quite late due to traffic. Once checked in we opened the door to a very clean smell. The room and bathroom were immaculate! There were no cigarette odors. The TV wouldn't go on so the front desk sent someone immediately at around 10:00 PM. We were exhausted after the 12hr drive from Sacramento. There was very little noise and we were upstairs. The front desk could not have been more helpful! It is so difficult dealing with the general public but management here shows nothing but a very positive attitude and respect. This was one of the best experiences we've had at an out of town hotel. The crisp, clean sheets felt so nice as we sleep with the 'great-working' air conditioner on low. We will be staying here again and often when we visit family in The area. read more

Avoid, avoid, avoid... Literally the worst nights stay in a hotel I've ever had. The hotel has lowlifes LIVING in the rooms. They hang around inside and all over outside. We should have driven away when we saw them...but gave it a chance. We were literally worried about our vehicle getting broken into overnight. I kept looking out the window to check it. Lots of cars were coming and going with people standing around them. That evening, I walk out of my 2nd floor room and about get run over by a 20-30 year old man riding a BMX bike down the hallway. He went into a room across from the ice machine. While I'm getting my ice, a young woman starts pounding on doors and yelling to be let in..cursing, etc. Later, little kids are running around and screaming. When I finally fall asleep, I get woken up just after midnight to someone (sounded like an adult man) running past our rooms (we had 4 rooms) yelling NeeeeeeYooooowwwww!! That person goes into a room and shortly after, dogs start barking from within the rooms. For the next hour or more, people kept knocking on a door(s). I have to assume it was people coming for drugs. Had to turn the fan on high to drown out the noise. Morning comes and none of us had gotten hardly any sleep. We all were talking about the craziness and that we would NEVER stay there again. We have to go to Fallbrook often, this place better be making ends meet with their dirtbags, because we will be spreading the word that us government employees will go elsewhere. read more

What a great find in Fallbrook. The room was actually quite large with very high ceilings. We loved having DirectTv and tons of channels. The bed was comfy.. wished they'd change the shower heads they were the small generic ones, water didn't get super hot either, but the room was very clean. Had a fridge and microwave. Front desk was nice, wish they had the free breakfast I don't know how you get COVID from food, and maybe they could have knocked $20 off the night since you didn't get any food, but all in all great little place, cheap, and we felt safe. Stayed here over the weekend for my best friends wedding. Her venue was the Grand tradition Garden and estates. It was literally on the same street, I had no idea. The hotel was very clean! The front desk lady was amazing. We came early at 1 o'clock and she let me check in at 2 instead of 3! Which was really awesome because I had a rehearsal dinner at 3 to get to. Ok, I wish I had read the Yelp reviews before booking this room on Expedia. I can't believe I didn't...Yelp Elite failure. Let me start off by saying, I will NEVER stay here again. I was almost tempted (for not being exhausted and a non-refundable booking I would have) to leave and keep on driving. In the initial stages of our Memorial Day weekend Cali road trip planning, we were bringing our dogs. We all know accommodation options that allow pets is limited. I used Expedia to find the grand deal of $169 per night....for what this turned out to be...I got ripped. The location is easy to find with a small parking lot. The front office is directly to the right of the parking. No problems with the check-in and finding our reservation. The hotel seems to be family owned and operated. The lady at the front desk was nice. So, the room. What made the first impression??......the smell. I still can't put my finger on it...it's a cross between grease, Indian seasonings and a musty odor. Spraying my perfume didn't make a dent. It's been 5 hours in the room and my nose still hasn't adjusted. Not being dramatic, seriously it is that bad. The pics on their official website aren't accurate. The furniture is worn and cheap. There are 2 upholstered chairs that hell will freeze over before I sit in them. The bed and pillows aren't comfortable...proof it's 2:55 am and I'm writing this review. We had to call the front because of the noise above us. After about 3 hours it stopped...in other words, the front wasn't very persuasive. So, to conclude, Fallbrook might not be the pit stop next time. It might be worth stopping in Temecula or driving on. Just whatever you do....don't stop at this Econo Lodge. read more

The TV works with a remote, there is a refrigerator, microwave, beds are comfortable, water is hot out if the shower, staff is friendly. Out of the inexpensive hotels I've stayed at it's one of the best. For what it is and it's location it's okay. Paint chipping and flaking off in different places, traffic noise from the freeway can be heard through the sliding glass door, the bang of garbage being thrown into dumpster crashes away sporadically, the heavy scent of perfume cleaners to cover what staff doesn't want one to smell lingers through the place, the breakfast is cheap but fills the gut, and coffee pot has an oily film that shimmers across the water (I'd pass on making coffee in the room) Like I said for what it is it's okay. No one trying to break in while I speed, police not being called, people not screaming next door to be released, staff not doing welfare checks, people not partying and smoking outside. Therefore this is actually one of the better places I've stayed. I'd actually stay here again if I'm ever this way again. read more

I got exactly what I expect from Econo Lodge in every way (this isn't a Hilton), except they were insanely obsessed and stingy with their towels! We stayed in a family room with three beds that slept six. When we first got in the room, we had six bath towels, but only three hand towels and three washcloths. With myself, a wife, and three daughters, showering twice a day (workouts, etc.) we asked for extra sets of towels. This set off what can only be described as a bizarre series of events. Multiple calls from the front desk to our room asking why we wanted more towels... wanting us to account for every towel... accusing us of stealing towels. I spent at least an hour of our stay trying to prove that no towels were missing. Ultimately, I took every towel, clean and dirty, from our room... laid them on the counter at the front desk and had to write down the math multiple times to show the person at the front desk that we had not stolen any of their towels. We never received more than the three hand towels and washcloths, even though we stayed for two nights. The person at the front desk went so far as to take me to a store room to show they didn't have any more towels to give us. This is completely unacceptable for any hotel. I understand that some people steal towels, but that is part of the cost of doing business. The other 95% of customers should not be harassed and asked to account for every single one of them. And let's be honest Econo Lodge: these are not exactly the kind of towels anyone would want to take with them. We stayed at this property because it was walking distance to a wedding we were attending. The aggravation we experienced was not worth the convenience at any price. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere in Fallbrook. read more

I wish I could leave zero... this motel was the worst stay I've ever had in my entire life. The rooms were damp and smelled like cigarettes and marijuana. The rooms were dirty and the surfaces felt slimy. They had several rooms with full time tenants who allow theirs kids to run up and down the hallways and bang on doors. There is a large group of people that hang out on a picnic bench on one end of the building and frequently do drugs. And yes, we could actually see them shooting it up. We were woken up on night 1 of our stay to the sounds of the woman in the room next to us getting physically abused and thrown around the room. Cops showed up on Saturday night while we were visiting with family after a wedding and even they were in disbelief that we were staying here (closest to the venue). The room was EXTREMELY overpriced for the stay, should of been around $50-$60 per night not the listed $200 per night. Overall, the experience was one of extreme discomfort and I only hope people can see this review and hope it saves them from experiencing this for themselves. read more

It wasn't great but it wasn't terrible. The bed was pretty comfortable but the room was decorated like a 1942 apartment and made the aura pretty spooky. The actual building looks like an old old apt building that they turned into a hotel. The shower water temperature was nice but the tub and everything inside the bathroom was just old. The continental breakfast is not actually continental they had a few measles cold hard boiled eggs and some bread and two choices of cereal. Pretty freaking crappy if you ask me. The check in was a breeze. The room is nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable the only thing is that they do not have comforters on the bed so I was pretty cold until I turn on heater. I had problems with the flat-screen it kept saying no signal. (no! I did bother asking for assistance, I was a bit tired anyway) They walls were a bit thin. I could hear the gentleman in the next room talking. At first I thought it was people outside. (but it could have been that the gentleman talked loud too) The price wasn't too bad and I probably would stay here again during the next Wine festival. read more

Here is the deal, I am going to do two reviews. One will be for the staff and one for the hotel itself. So for the staff: Manny was really nice. He checked us in and because we were going to have a VERY late night (we were working on a show in town) we asked for a late check out. While this is not normal he took pity on us and let us have extra time to rest which was a Godsend. He was very personable, nice and help us out...I give him 5 stars Now the room: It was not the greatest room in the world- that much is true. There was someone hair on our towels, the bed was not that comfortable and there is only one small window next to the bathroom (if you stay on one side of the hotel) But the plus side- It had a fridge and microwave. So I would say if you are using your room for thing other than sleep and a shower this place may not be for you. read more

Like the first reviewer, we stayed here for a wedding, as a cheaper alternative to the golf resort that was the actual wedding venue. It's nothing fancy, but clean, basic accommodations for a short trip. This is a 2-story, 36-room motel. No elevators to the second floor that I could see, so if you don't want to haul your suitcases up the cement stairs, ask for a room on the 1st floor. They apparently did a renovation in 2009, and it does look nicer than your typical budget hotel - our room had two easy chairs and a coffee table, and the furnishings were tasteful, if basic. We checked in very late, around midnight, and had no problems. The room has an ironing board and iron, a (weak) hairdryer, and dresser. No mini-fridge or luggage rack that I saw. The toiletries are no-frills (packets of shampoo and conditioner, not bottles) and the bed had some very sad, very limp, very thin little pillows. Towels were thin and scratchy, your typical motel fare. BUT the A/C kicked ass, which is obviously the most important feature! The "continental" breakfast included some individually bagged bear claws and danishes, a couple of cereal dispensers, some fruit, and some granola bars and cracker packets, along with coffee and OJ. We grabbed some snacks for the road because we were getting an early start, but I wouldn't go out of your way to come down for this breakfast. Overall, it was just fine and everything that I needed a basic, no-frills motel to be for a weekend trip. I'd stay here again if I ever went to Fallbrook... though I can't imagine why I would. read more

My experience at this hotel was absolutely horrible. The tables and mirrors were covered with some slimy liquid and there were fingerprints everywhere. The bathtub was slippery because they never scrubbed it. There was a random mysterious door that leads to a room next to ours and I was kind of creeped out by that. The parking is tight and people kept bumping into each other's car. I did have a brief conversation with the manager and he told me something along the lines of, this place is cheap what do you expect. I am not paid enough to take my time to fix your issues. I will never be coming back here, I would much rather pay a little extra and stay at somewhere sanitary and safe. read more

The location isn't bad. It's pretty easy to find. But it is a good 10 minutes away from I-15, through some slow winding roads. The staff was friendly at check-in. No problem with the reservation. The room....well - not so good. The smell wasn't great. Just smelled like old, wet carpet. The dresser was missing a drawer, but they tried to cover about a 1/3 of it with a laundry bag. The bathroom door was broken and the lock didn't work. The TV worked, but every time you turned it on you had to get up and go to the TV and manually flip through the inputs that reset every time you turned it off. Got hot at night, so we wanted to turn the fan on, but couldn't because it had a very loud knocking noise. We only stayed one night, and we paid about $75. For that price I don't expect too much, but I did expect more than this. read more

I booked this room on hotels.com for a wedding. It is about 20 mins away from Temecula. This is a cheap and clean alternative to the other hotels in the area. It is a motel, but it in no way is dingy or smelly. It is in a very nice area. If I should ever find myself in the Fallbrook area again I will stay here. There was a little bit of a mixup with my reservations (which was my fault, not theirs) and Manny Patel was very accommodating and reasonable. read more

I came down to Fallbrook from LA to visit a friend who lives down here and decided to stay here because of the cheap price of the room and the ok reviews. However, overall I am extremely satisfied. Check-in was totally easy. I went after 3pm (check-in time) and there was no wait time. The room itself is pretty spacious and extremely clean. It was a wonderful surprise to walk into. There is a small area next to the sink/fridge/microwave area where you can hang your things as well. There is also a small coffee machine next to the microwave, so you are free to make coffee for yourself if you do not want to leave the room in the morning. My only complaint (and the reason I took off a star) is the fact that the walls are super thin. I know it can't be helped much, but you can definitely hear EVERYTHING. I heard someone's phone alarm going off this morning and it was on VIBRATE. That being said, you will be very aware of your neighbors. I hear them walking down the hallways and their conversations with others. Other than that, like what others were saying... there are no covers really. I don't know if you can requests extra blankets and whatnot, I didn't bother to ask out of pure sleepiness. The ice machine is on the 2nd floor and there is a small vending machine on the side of the lobby. I personally will most likely not partake in the "breakfast" from other reviews I have read. I'm not a huge fan of what they will be serving. But I also want to experience Fallbrook in all it's glory while I'm here. :) If I ever need to travel and spend the night in Fallbrook again, I will most likely stay here again. I might be woken up due to my neighbors, but it's a small price to pay for the nice room. :) read more
