Stayed here for a night visiting a local school. Parking lot parking, wasn't a big lot but there were still plenty of spaces. HBO was advertised, but many of the cable/ premium channels didn't work. The internet was also spotty. The TV in the room had Netflix on it so you could sign in, but the net kept cutting out literally ever 1 min 30 seconds. The floors are hardwood and were really dusty. walking barefoot i could feel every single grain on the floor. The bathroom/ sink area were cool. coffe machine on the sink. microwave and mini fridge in room. The beds were pretty hard to sleep on. Breakfast was highly undesireable. The man who was putting food out, placed biscuits out with his bare hands. Mind you, he was also the receptionist. The food area is really small with 1 tv. Coffee is available, water was not. OJ was in a jug. There was a waffle maker, some cereal, bagels and muffins to choose from. The butter was the squeezable kind (yikes) and we all shared the cream cheese out of the tub. The bagel/ toaster barely toasted anything. Check out is at 11. We were granted late check out at 1130. The receptionist came around at 11:15 asking if we were leaving.. smh. Of course, we were running late than 11 so we asked for the late check out. That was pretty annoying. Cleaning kitchen supplies were right behind the counter for the breakfast food, smh. The pool is out front of the lobby and looks a hot mess right now. Its January but the pool has black looking filled water in it and the chairs seem to be all thrown about. There was a McDonalds, Burger King, Food Lion, Gas Station nearby. I would rather stay in Salisbury next time for an upgraded hotel/motel stay for the night. read more

Horrible business practices! I cancelled a reservation 3 weeks in advance and they still charged me for the full 2 night stay. Called numerous times asking for a refund only to be lied to about who to contact and when, as well as being hung up on. Duvall Patel at the front desk is a is a Liar. If that's even his real name. Bed bugs! Yellow water, diff room than what was reserved (one night stay). So the woman that checked me in was nice/friendly but that was the only positive. I reserved a room w/king size bed and small kitchenette but the room they sent me to was gutted and under construction so they put me in a standard room with two beds and no kitchenette. Floors were hardwood but very dirty/dusty. The toilet water was yellow so I didnt even want to use the shower. I woke up with itchy bites on my foot and side. I inspected the cover on the mattress and there were small red/rust colored spots in various areas which is evidence of bed bugs. As well as red welts on my body because of bed bug bites. I had packed away my pajamas and dirty clothes in a mesh bag and compression cube and when I got home and unzipped it, there was a dead bed bug on my pj's that had hitched a ride back! Needless to say I threw those clothes out. I was not going to risk an infestation in my home. DO NOT STAY HERE. It may look renovated in the photos but it's still not clean and still outdated. read more

I would NOT recommend this place at all!!! The staff was not very friendly or welcoming!! When i checked in the front door was locked and the owner looked like i woke him out of his sleep. For check in he never asked for my ID so i could of been using stolen credit cards and he would of never known. i asked for a non smoking room and the room i got clearly had been smoked in you could smell the smoke from the front door. The beds were dirty there was a white stain on one of the colored throws that was on one of the beds the sofa bed mattress was not very clean. The bathroom wasn't clean either there was dirt in all the cracks of the bathroom. The shower water is either too hot or too cold no in between. The only good things were the large refrigerator, stove, microwave, and the size of the room. There also isn't a lot of parking and i know it's not swimming season but the pool doesn't look as if it's well kept either... Oh....... Well, I went full Karen and downloaded Yelp for the sole purpose of leaving a review for this place. Whoever is in charge of taking photos for their ads needs a mf raise. This motel looks NOTHING like the photos. The comforter had cigarette burns, the floor was grimy, and the sink wouldn't drain. Like at all. Add to that, the water is *yelloowwww*. Despite asking for non smoking, the bathroom reeked of cigarette smoke. Oh, and weed smell, yeah, that's everywhere. Hope you enjoy it. And the worst part? Despite the motel having SEVERAL vacancies, during the duration of our stay, the loudest, heaviest people were consistently placed DIRECTLY. ABOVE. OUR. ROOM. And I mean it sounded like a herd of wildebeest were constantly stampeding above our heads. Called the front desk to ask that they please ask the room to tone it down (at midnight, cause they somehow had enough to do in a friggin motel room, they stayed active until 2:30am) front desk just sleepily says "hello"....Didn't specify they were the motel/front desk so I had to ask and make sure I had dialed correctly. After the call, room above stomps even harder to showcase their maturity. Staff never bothered to visit the room in person to confirm the noise levels. And because of the type of people that seem to frequent this place, we were afraid to call again, lest someone decide to retaliate. And switching rooms wasn't an option as we were traveling with a special needs dog who needed to be allowed to settle. Staff would routinely have LOUD conversations directly in front of the door, all hours of the day. Loud cars in and out all day and night, less than savory individuals lurking about. The literal only redeeming quality about this motel is the wifi is pretty good. I'd say more, but honestly, if you have ANY other choices, avoid this motel. It is not worth the cost. We would not have stayed had the room not been paid for in advance. read more

Literally if I could give this a zero rating I would. I had booked this place through Expedia, which I had a cat and was having trouble finding animal friendly places to stay. They allowed "pets", went to check in and the lady said cats aren't considered pets.... Umm okay not to mention they had a pets allowed sign at the checkin desk which did not mention only dogs. Finally they let us stay (luckily I had a bigger crate!) get to the room, smell of smoke was so bad, beds had burn holes in the sheets, they looked so brown and dirty, the bathroom light didn't even work and the toilet had brown water flushing. Is being two females, did not feel comfortable and asked them to cancel our reservation and give my money back.well that took 1hr maybe a longer for her to understand she charged me a different price than she told me and when she refunded my money to my credit card it declined due to a invalid balance and yet I'm still waiting on my money. For restaurants too, of course, but being able to bypass one 2* Econolodge for a 5* one, or noticing that we really should drive an extra hour or so to avoid filthy rooms with bedbugs, blood stained sheets, and partying kids? Yes, worth it. $58 w/AAA discount, no extra charge for spouse and minions. $15 for the fur ball. WIFI WORKS!!!!!!! Recently renovated--granite tops, clean & HOT showers. 2 microwaves (?), fridge, coffee maker, plus a 1985 kitchenette w/stove (my parents installed the same exact cabinetry that year). Heat & fan work. No weird smells or stains. Room dry. Coffee at the front desk is decent, but there's only saccharine. Nice guy. Blueberry muffins, waffles, cereal, oj. Next time we are 4 hours from home and it's too late for us old farts to drive home, we will stop here. Disclaimer: of course it's not a 5* compared to the Ritz at Place Vendome, but it is compared to other budget motels. read more

We stayed here for a softball tournament. We had a total of 12 rooms for our group. This Econo Lodge has its pros and cons. One of the pros is if you are traveling with your dog, they allow pets! The rooms have no carpet and have a hard wood looking linoleum in them which is nice. The rooms have a mini fridge and microwave which is always nice! The rooms are also nice sized. The vanity are is very nice and open! A few of the cons are the age of the hotel and overall decor. It's very dated. The pool is outside and although it's decent, it is kinda small. The laundry area was not very clean and they vent for the dryer was actually ran into a bucket. Needless to say we did not do laundry here. For the overall experience of the motel I would say it's overpriced at $149.99 a night. If I were on vacation with my family I would not pay that price to stay there. You can definitely get a nicer hotel in Salisbury, MD about 20 minutes away. I did have a couple of issues. First they forgot to key our room keys for multiple days. So everyday we had to have our keys updated. Secondly I forgot my blow dryer in the room when I left. I know exactly where I left it. When I called the gentleman argued with me that I couldn't have left it. He refused to have someone check the room. He said if they found it they would call me, but refused to take my name or number. This was very unprofessional and not a great way to run a business. My last issue was they were supposed to email a copy of our bill after we checked out. It's been 5 days and I have still not received it. Sometimes you get what you pay for. Sometimes you pay for more than what you get! read more

It wouldn't seem like this would be a place to rate so high, but aside from some questionable electrical work, some needed landscaping fixes near the pool, and a slight funk when the bathroom door is closed, we LOVED Econo lodge! The staff were all very nice and friendly, and while the pool was too warm for MY tastes, it was perfect for my 9 yo son to play in during the day. Breakfast in the morning was yummy, and the coffee HOT. This is not the Hilton, the pastry chef does not work here, but a nice little guy keeps the breakfast bar well stocked and clean. And speaking of clean; The rooms were CLEAN, and very well appointed. The tv was modern and got a great range of channels. We opted for coffee from Downstairs, but a brewer was there for the use. The room also had a microwave, and a Huge dorm frig that quickly cooled down for our use. The AC WAS wonderful and kept us comfortable as well as not being too loud. Lastly the hotel is right on the highway, but at no time was I bothered by that or by other quests. In the end we loved staying here and would gladly do so again. We were traveling back from Florida and were looking for an EconoLodge, found one in Princess Anne MD. We were very disappointed in our stay. Room was below par, bathroom was redone but you could still see wallpaper underneath mirror, tissue holder and heater were all rusted over. Grounds were in rough shape, needed to be repainted, sheds with debris, furniture all around it. Went for breakfast at 7am, door locked, manager came to the door, looked like we woke him, no food ready, left without our "complimentary" breakfast. Saw the pictures of the outside in the ad, not sure when this was but didn't look like it when we were there!!! Last time staying at an EconoLodge, I'm done!! read more

The hotel appearance was not the greatest, the shower pressure could be compared to the strength of someone spitting; the tenants in room above mind walked and walked all night as if they were in a military band; the "male" clerk was very rude when I requested an iron and iron board even when he refused to answer telephone. This is probably one of my worst stays in a hotel room first off there was pee in the toilet and black hair all over it was very dirty I wouldn't take a shower because how nasty the shower was the sink was also dirty it had the smell of mold threw out the hole room the bed clothes on the bed was dirty and the towels smelled like they have been used blood on the toilet seat and the guy would not give me no money off my stay if I could rate this place a 0 I would I would not suggest any of you guys to ever stay here ever read more

Stopped for the night here due to early morning meeting in the area. After reading the reviews on google I thought it was ok. Upon arriving the door was locked and I rang the bell for service. The person came to the door unlocked it with barely an audible greeting was wearing flip flops and pj pants with a dirty Econo Lodge shirt. I could barley understand the room number he told me and did not write it down for me. I went to wrong room and had to call him to ask for help with the room number. After locating the room with poor outside lighting I found it to be modern and very clean...a welcoming site for tired person. After putting my things down and charging my phone I looked in the drawer beside the bed and looked for what I always do at a hotel...A Bible. There was no bible to be found...instead was an spiritual book from another country I found distasteful. I was delighted to read a Christian person had written a few passages on a paper for me to enjoy. I will make sure when I stay at hotel from now on a bible is provided. The room was nice and all but starting at 8:30am housekeeping woke me up out of a sound sleep trying to get in my room. 30 minutes later they came back knocking on the door. I was like I am trying to sleep! This continued 2-3 more times. I was damn checkout is 11am leave me alone! I called manager and honestly he could have cared less.... Although at first glance room looked clean, sheets had stains that resembled blood. I let the FD know and no apology was given. The FD agent just took note of my room and said it will be changed. When I got back a pile of dirty sheets were sitting in the corner and new pillow cases also had the same stains including comforter. Not a good first time experience at any Choice Hotel. Other than that rooms are renovated. Rooms are inexpensive but customer service levels/room linens shouldn't match the price. read more
