This bed and breakfast could not have been better! Eric and Michael are two of the most thoughtful, kindest, and genuinely amazing people I've met. They genuinely care about the guests. Everything about the inn was perfect-to the smallest detail. The food was out of this world! The mushrooms in the morning were heavenly! I'm attaching a photo of the breakfast monte cristo from the last day's breakfast just for reference. Sadly, it's one of the only photos I took as I was so enthralled with experiencing that I forgot to use the camera.

We usually stay in St Michaels but this time decided on Easton when I came upon the Hummingbird Inn while checking on lodging. So glad we found this place. This is what you'd expect of a perfect B&B - charming Victorian house complete with a big covered wrap around porch and turret on the corner, unique, spacious rooms all with interesting features, and the freshly prepared 3 course gourmet breakfast in the bright, exquisitely decorated dining room complete with white table cloth. Rooms all updated even when retaining traditional features. We had the Tilghman Island room on the third (top) floor - with vaulted ceilings (parts of the arches a bit low so need to watch your head), big bathroom with shower and tub - latter claw footed and sits by a window - bath with a view! This is a most comfortable room for two although it has two daybeds and a wooden baby cot so can accommodate more, nice seating especially in the natural light filled rounded turret sitting area. Aircon is centrally regulated by the host so you need to let him know whether the temp is comfortable. All rooms are on second and third floor, no elevator. This is a B&B you'd want to return to - try a different room each time! Only thing about our room that could use improvement is that the blinds are not light blocking, especially the half moon one above one of the day beds - with only lace curtains, so although the place is exceedingly quiet if you are sensitive to light you will wake up too early. No coffee making facilities in room but self service is available from 7 am in the dining room where there is a fridge with drinks and snacks and a shelf to keep any food you might have. Location is central - just a few blocks to downtown shops and restaurants. Free parking on property.

Eric even flew our state flag during our stay. Very personalized experience!!

By far one of the best B&Bs I've been to. We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of September for Ironman Maryland. I was a late registration, so a lot of places were sold out. Luckily, a room opened up at the Hummingbird Inn and I booked it. From the moment I checked in, I knew a got super lucky with this find. Eric checked me in and gave me a tour of the house. I then joined Eric and a couple other guests (also doing IMMD) in the parlor for some wine. Had a great time! Over the four night we spent at the Hummingbird, we made some good friends with other guests and Eric. We really can't wait to return! The breakfasts are amazing! Eric works miracles with food! Also, unlike other B&Bs I've been to, Eric gives a choice of two breakfasts and three sides. We tried different items each day because it was all amazing! The Inn is very well appointed and is done right! Eric really thought of everything, while still managing to maintain the charm of a Victorian home. We stayed in the Cambridge Room. The online photos don't do it justice. It's a very nice room with a fireplace and a sitting area. Very spacious room. The bathroom is a little small, but well appointed. I was pleasantly surprised at the shower. Great water pressure and spacious. Bed was super comfortable. Built-in USB ports on both sides of the bed in the outlet. Not a feature usually found in a Victorian B&B. In respect to the Ironman, this was an excellent spot to stay. I was a little concerned not staying in Cambridge. I'm usually a host hotel kinda guy. But, this place was perfect! Cambridge is an easy drive. There are several places in Cambridge you can reserve parking for the entire race week that's right at transition and the expo. Plus, Easton is a great town with some amazing restaurants. If I do IMMD again, I'll definitely stay here. This place is every bit of a 5 star B&B. Honestly, I can't wait to come back.

It is often said, "Find your happy place". Well there's no better happy place than the Hummingbird Inn. The moment you step out of your car the magic begins. A whimsical garden awaits with a softly flowing fountain, pleasing plants, and soft music playing. Continue to the wrap around porch with its own swing gently swaying in the breeze. Through the front door a fairytale ambiance escorts you on a tour of the public areas. Eric, your very accommodating host shows you to a beautifully appointed room ready to meet your every need. Just when you think it can't get any better you look up and see a hummingbird floating from the ceiling. The breakfast part of this charming Bed & Breakfast Inn is stunning. Beautifully appointed tables compete with the mouthwatering smells from the kitchen. Eric is an accomplished chef worthy of a five-star designation. As you leave your visit here you will feel refreshed and renewed. Hummingbird Inn definitely deserves a "must visit" recommendation.

Great photo in the front and parking is good

My friend had her wonderful wedding here last fall, this place is home away from home. We had so much with the owner and loved the property. Everyone felt comfortable and the owner of the property officiate the wedding. We had great photo ops in the Inn, the weather was great. It was hard to leave even when the weekend was over. This is a great getaway location for anything your heart desires. I love you can have an event here and make it your own.

Window of the the water with a great view from our room. Room was neat and bed was comfortable. Stayed for the weekend, breakfast both days was good. French toast, eggs and sausage morning one. Morning two eggs or pumpkin pancakes. Both were great. Only negative was the shower in our room. It was a stall shower, which we knew, but the water pressure was terrible. It also took about 10 minutes to come to a warm temp, I felt bad running the water that long. All and all great stay. I'd 100% suggest this place for a weekend getaway.

Before we left I planned a surprise sailing cruise for my fiancé and Aida left a sweet note about the gift from me and vouchers for complimentary gelato around the corner for us. She is so accommodating even when a few little things didn't go as planned for us. (Car trouble, weather... not her doing at all but she made them easier to manage.) She has great suggestions for what to do in St. Michael's. Breakfast was set up beautifully in the morning and cooked to order. Portions were huge if you wanted them. We are lighter eaters and once I told her that she gave us perfect smaller portions, but if you want a big breakfast you will not be disappointed here. The inn only has about eight rooms, and each is different. Ours was very comfortable with flowers, art and antiques wherever I looked. There's central air and the softest towels I think I've ever used. She lets you keep stuff in the fridge and even said we could use her laundry when my fiancé sat on something and messed up his pants. We had leftovers when we needed to leave and she gave us a styrofoam cooler to take with us... that will be used a lot this summer, I'm sure. The location is walking distance to most things in town, so while there is off street parking, we walked most of the time. You can't go wrong here with Aida's Victoriana Inn! Note, though, a lot of businesses and restaurants in town are operating at partial capacity or reduced hours, or are closed due to Covid 19. This has nothing to do with the Victoriana Inn, but it is worth calling ahead if you have specific things you want to do while in town to make sure they're available. We had to shift some dining plans but it was a last minute getaway and we didn't care all that much. It a worked out but if you have your heart set on something, check in advance to make sure you'll be able to do it.

I had visited St. Michaels before and Oxford is a few miles down the road and is a much quieter gem of a place to visit. Combsberry Inn has a long, tree lined driveway which is the first indication that you are visiting an old, special place. The house was built in the 1700's and all of the rooms have a beautiful view of the water. We stayed in the Oxford Cottage which is a separate building aptly nicknamed, "the dollhouse". It is the only pet-friendly accommodation but I am happy that's where we stayed because it was adorable and classy at the same time. We had a wood-burning fireplace with a starter log and more wood on the patio. There is a nice jacuzzi for two and vases with fresh flowers throughout the cottage. The bedroom is in the loft so it's only a full size bed but it's cozy. My only minor gripe is that the bed was too firm for my tastes, but my husband had no complaints. There are windows everywhere for great breezes. There is also a kitchen with a stove for any cooking you may want to do, a small fridge, and a microwave. You can sit on your patio and gaze at the water or walk down to the dock to look at the nesting ospreys (really!). Our dogs really loved running around the backyard and sleeping by the fireplace. They also have some books that we used and it was nice to disconnect with no tvs around. Best of all, breakfast and coffee is delivered to your doorstep at 9 am so you have no reason to get up early. We had homemade cinnamon buns, yogurt, and fresh fruit. I hope to come back sometime when the canoes and kayaks are ready for use to check out the beautiful waterways. The Robert Morris Inn is only a 5 minute drive away and is a great place to grab a romantic dinner. FYI - if you hear any crazy "screams" in the middle of the night, you are hearing the foxes! We saw a fox jump in front of our car too - so be careful driving around at night.

First off the staff is wonderfully pleasant - happy to answer any and all questions and very accessible without being overbearing. Because there was no one else at the inn they upgraded us from the one-bedroom cottage to the two-bedroom carriage house, free of charge. They are pet friendly and our little mutt certainly loved running around the extra space as well as the huge grounds. The house itself was the perfect eastern shore experience; country-quaint meets modern convenience. There was a fully upgraded kitchen, a large living room with gas fireplace, half bathroom, and a formal dining area. Each bedroom (which are located on opposites sides of the house, great for couples or families!) has it's own gas fireplace, four post king bed and bathroom with jacuzzi tub. The highlight, in my opinion, is the floor to ceiling windowed doors across the living room that give you a beautiful view of the grounds leading right up to the water. The technology offerings are low (an old tv without cable and dvd player provide the living room entertainment while their is only wireless internet available in the main house library) it is absolutely perfect for a "get-away-from-it-all" style vacation. In the morning the staff brings a basket with breakfast - muffins, bread pudding, smoothies and orange juice. While we came here on a deal, the regular prices are great for the experience and privacy you get (395 for the cottage or 700 for the full carriage house). We look forward to returning when the weather picks up a bit so we can take advantage of swimming and kayaking right off the property.

The owner, Janet, was very helpful both before us picking this B&B and during our entire stay. Our stay was from Fri-Sun in the middle of winter and we wound up being the only guests in the house that weekend, which was nice for us. Upon arrival, Janet takes you into the beautifully decorated parlor room where you fill out forms for when and what you want for breakfast each morning. She had a different menu for each day of our stay. She then gave us a tour of the home while taking us to our room, the Harrison room, which was located on the 2nd floor. There are only three guest rooms, two of which are located at the 2nd floor and the other on the 3rd floor. Janet has done a wonderful job of decorating this very old home and we enjoyed our stay in the lovely and comfortable Harrison room. The room is equipped with a queen sized bed, a sitting area, fireplace, HDTV, coffee maker, and a private bathroom. The wood burning fireplace was all set, so all we had to do was light it. Being the middle of winter, we lit the fire each night. The bathroom sink is small, but there is a built-in open medicine cabinet where you can store your toiletry items. Close the bathroom door and flip on the heater, and the bathroom will be nice and toasty for yourself! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed each of our breakfasts. Both days, we started with fresh fruit, which came with a little scoop of raspberry sherbet. Our first breakfast consisted of french toast with sausage on the side and on the second morning, we had waffles with bananas. You have your choice of coffee, teas, and juices. She also has an assortment of DaVinci syrups to add to your coffee if you like. Breakfast was always ready at the time we specified each morning, and we got to enjoy our breakfast while sitting next to a roaring fire. The dining room consists of one round table, so you would be potentially eating with others if other guests picked a breakfast time the same or close to what you picked. Free WiFi is provided, but I found it to be slow much of the time. I think the issue had to do with where the access point is located. I had a fairly weak WiFi signal from the room on the second floor, but things improved somewhat when I sat in the parlor room. Ultimately it wasn't a real big deal for me as my device had a cellular signal and I wound up using that most of the time. The B&B is located just off a side street in downtown St. Michaels and we simply walked into town to go shopping. You are also very close to the Maritime Museum. Only street parking is available around the house. Being the dead of winter, we had no difficulty parking. I would say watch out for the no parking signs as I accidentally wound up illegally parking the first night. Fortunately a neighbor told me before a cop discovered it! This B&B accepts cash or check only and you do have to pay 50% at the time of reservation. I would have preferred that credit cards were accepted. In summary, Dr. Dodson house provided my wife and I and very relaxing weekend getaway with delicious breakfasts, and this is exactly what we were looking for. Pros: There are many more popular B&Bs and inns in town, but Point Breeze has several perks. We felt like we had really lucked out and ended up with the best choice! 1) Lovely waterfront location with a great view of the harbor and lighthouse. Most of the B&Bs in St. Michaels are right on the main drag and not on the water. I doubt any of the other places have such a great view! 2) Kayaks, canoe, and bikes available for guest use -- no extra cost! 3) You're free to laze about anywhere on the beautifully landscaped yard. 4) You can fish from the private dock, and the innkeeper will help you "chicken neck" for crabs, if you want. 5) Joan, the innkeeper, makes a mean omelette and awesome German pancakes! 6) Speaking of Joan, she's a sweetie! So wonderful to talk to! 7) Very quiet area. Not right in town, so you don't get all the road noise. Very peaceful. 8) Free soft drinks available any time. 9) Costs quite a bit less than most other places in town. 10) Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. 11) Wi-Fi for all! 12) If you have a family of 6 and 2 people don't mind twin beds, you could rent the whole house out. Cons (sort of): 1) This isn't a con for me, but I can see how it could be for other people: Point Breeze's guest rooms are not fancy. You feel like you're staying over with relatives. We liked it, though! 2) No TVs in the guest rooms. A small TV is available in the great room. We really didn't care, however. We weren't there to watch TV. 3) If you don't want to take a short walk or bike ride into town, you'd be better off staying in town. We enjoyed the walk in -- not far for us at all! 4) Not many rooms -- only 3. But if you want to stay someplace quiet, this shouldn't be a problem. 5) 2 of the rooms share a bathroom. Not a big deal if you are staying with family or close friends. If you are a couple, there is one room available with a private bath. 6) Bare bones amenities in the bathroom, but more than adequate and comfortable.

They have a Keurig and other free drinks 24/7, which is good for me because I wake up before dawn. We did have a couple of minor problems, but the staff took care of them immediately and without any fuss. I really appreciate that type of service because often you get a reluctant and slow response, or the hotel doesn't have the resources to fix the problem. If there's one thing to warn about, it's that The Oaks is heavily into the wedding business, and that drives its entire strategy. So you can't get a room on a weekend if there's a wedding booked, and you can't get into the restaurant for dinner, either. And thus on the nights when you can get into the restaurant, it's typically full because folks from the nearby towns like to come, plus the hotel guests. If you see a complaint on Yelp, most likely it's due to the rather limited access to the restaurant and the weird rules about when it's available. In sum, this is an expensive place, but it's worth it for a quiet, romantic, scenic getaway.

We came here for a Valentine's Day weekend getaway. Hotel communicated our arrival via text, very…read moreconvenient. Upon arrival we were given a tour of the hotel which included the bar and restaurant. Room was very spacious and clean, plenty of drawer storage space but not a lot of closet space. Bathroom was gorgeously designed, opened, and had very nice heated floors! The bed was also super comfortable. Can hear music from the restaurant downstairs, would definitely recommend bringing a white noise machine. Breakfast is chef made & included in your stay, which was so convenient & delicious!! The hotel is around a 10 min drive to St. Michael's. On our last night we got stuck on the western side of the Bay Bridge & had to detour around the Chesapeake. We called the hotel & they graciously gave us a late check out the following afternoon. Staff is very attentive & kind! We will definitely be back in the peak season!!
