Very disappointed with this hotel. I had made reservations for this Econo Lodge in Winslow, AZ over a week prior to arrival and found a good rate so decided I would go with this one. Given that I was driving from the LA area to Chicago, this was my first stop. I arrived at 12:45am (the night of 12/30, early early morning 12/31), and walked into the lobby where no one was to be found. I waited for over 20 minutes there after many attempts to call them with the coffee phone provided, as well as ringing the bell, and calling from my personal phone - NO ANSWER, NOBODY. After a very long day of driving and being up early, I was very unsure what to do as all I needed was a bed to sleep in since I had another long drive the next day. I called the Quality Inn down the road since they are apart of the same group that owns Econolodge, and the guy didn't know what to tell me and basically told me to call a main number for help since they had no vacancies. That number did not get me connected to anyone since it wasn't during normal business hours. Long story short, I ended up staying at a Quality Inn in Holbrook (a 35 minute from there) and didn't get to bed until well after 2pm. I also ended up paying more than triple than what I initially paid which they will not refund me for which I find strange considering it was their fault I was put in this predicament. Now called Quality Inn I-40 staying here is a one and done experience for me. This place is a dump! A new paint job and some new flooring doesn't change the fact that this place is an absolute dump Wi-Fi does not work complementary breakfast as a joke, a few yogurt pods, lukewarm coffee, a few apples and some cornflakes milk in a picture left on the counter with no ice to keep it cold. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. This place is falling apart so many health and safety hazards if you are considering staying in Winslow, go to the next exit a few hotels there probably a better option. read more

Nice renovation but not finished outside doors needs replacing hard to open drag on ground . Not secured anyone can walk in. This place is a joke! The windows are broke sealed with tape so that's a plus? We tried checking in at 7pm when we had a reservation at 3pm she said won't be ready for 30-45 mins. We got placed in a room that had fried chicken on the counter and slices of bread and trash all around. Guess that's a plus if you didn't eat yet and are down for other peoples food. Come hungry? Oh the beds were torn apart so maybe if you hate un tucking your bed ? Also, we told the lady in the front the room Is a mess and she placed us in a nee room. Now this new room had an electrical fire. The plugs were burned and the room smelled bad!!! We again went up front and she was like "oh that's our fire room" she said " that's been closed down for a long time " but they had no more places and we can get a refund !!!!! Like wow ! We were sleepy and tired we go back to fire room.... Oh the fridge doesn't work but you can use it as a bonus night stand ? Inspect carefully before you put down your bags!This room had obviously not been cleaned. In addition to the stained bedspread and bones, there were stains on the chairs. One bed had been neatly made but not cleaned. There was a used towel in the bathroom . We called the front desk to see if they would send someone to clean it and she said nobody was available and offered a refund. Before we could give an answer she hung up. When we were leaving the motel, there were cleaning staff busy cleaning rooms! Do not go here. They don't clean the rooms properly between guest. we found wrappers left the the previous guest. The front door has a crack in it that you can see through along with the bottom of the door with a 1inch gap. Toilet doesn't flush right and there was no hot water for the shower. When you try and get someone up front to help no one is around. Checked out a day earlier and was told that I wouldn't get the other night charge returned since I payed through a 3rd party which was not the case I paid for everything when we arrived. Also booked a king room and was given 2 queens. This place is a total dump. If you want something nice or even clean do not book here. read more

Okay when I went to check in the receptionist had the personality of a ........ The toilet seat is broken. The toilet seat does not stay up for males. Get there and sign saying at reception, no pool, no hot tub, no function center and no fitness centre. So many times we tried to get the shower to work no luck water only come out of tap over bath. TV remote only the power and volume buttons work. Bed rock hard Room was ok Washing machine is great Dryer is great Breakfast is fine Requested non smoking room which was granted shame about the smoke smell across from us we had to deal with. read more

Pretty dissatisfied with this place. We came in after a long day of driving and were expecting a cheap stay. Their website said our room would be under $50. We came in and answered all the questions we were asked about how many people and if we had a dog. It was upsetting to find out we had to pay so much extra for having a dog. When we got into the room there was a used towel hanging in the bathroom and a wash cloth shoved in the top right corner of the room door (maybe a quick fix to something but it looks tacky). I'm only giving it 3 stars because there was a booger on the wall next to the toilet and our sheets were worn in a very weird splatter pattern. This place was cheap but disgusting. The hallway smelled terrible and was hot, the rooms were filthy. My sheets clearly weren't washed because I found three short black hairs and a couple of dead ants in my sheets. There were also a ton of stains on the sheets and dirt as if someone put their dirty shoes on the bed. Sheets didn't even smell clean like that had been properly washed. I had one towel and dirty sheets. I called the front desk for new sheets and more towels and was told there was no housekeeping until morning... why would I have to wait for housekeeping when their should be extra clean sheets and towels somewhere they should be able to provide? I didn't sleep in this bed. Luckily for me and my husband we had extra blankets and pillows from out travel. Absolutely disgusting place to stay. read more

18 motor bike riders made reservations and we showed up at 5:10 and were told no housekeeping workers showed up due to the party in town. We had ridden 340 miles and were looking forward to cleaning up before dinner at Turquoise Room. Were told it would be hour before we could get our rooms. There manager was very pleasant an professionak but still no excuse. Housekeeping usually shows up 8-10AM so they knew they were in trouble. One of the beds has a wet stain on it my husband went to tell them he said "there's no way there's a wet stain and we don't have other sheets to give you at this time they also can't move us. He also said we have been checked in for 4 hours which is not true. We checked in at 7:21 p.m unloaded a little bit of the stuff and seen the stain right away the picture is time stamped at 7:23pm. I told him to explain the pubic hairs and the other hairs on the bed bc I'm blonde and these are dark hairs. He can not refund us bc of hotel policy. We were escorted out of the ( Econo Lodge ) by the Winslow , AZ , Police Department. The reason was, we told the front desk clerk that we will be reporting the problems to the head office on our evaluation email of our stay in the hotel.( Choice Hotels) we had no phone service and hot water. She become upset and called the police and they escorted us to our car. Then we received a full refund. Do not stay at the Econo Lodge and do not join Choice Hotels . Never have I been escorted out of a business or my home by a police officer in my life. read more

Priority # 1: Service Lee, the gentleman who worked the night shift, was a god send. He was the kindest person, and his respect for human decency really helped us in the long run. We were on a very long road trip back home from taking care of my fiancé's mother's funeral services and handling of her estate. We had a terrible time at a Motel 6 in Flagstaff, AZ and had to drive another hour at three in the morning. Lee was kind enough to help us locate the perfect room to stay in. He honestly earned my loyalty to Econolodge, now if I ever travel again it will be one of my first choices. Thank you so much! I'm not sure why there's so many bad reviews... I guess we got lucky because the rude lady that everyone refers to in their reviews was not there lol. We had been driving for about 8 hours and stopped here as it is about halfway to where we were going in northern New Mexico. Got there at about 3am and there was a younger guy at the night window that was pretty friendly and accommodating, he even said we could check outbat 12 instead of 11 since we got there so late and we could definitely use the extra sleep! So we got to the room, very simple,clean, and perfect for just an overnight stay for a few hours. I was actually presently surprised with how big the room was because we were able to put my twins cots out no problem with still plenty of room! I did knock a star down because the toilet wasn't flushing, and there was a guy in his car blasting music right outside our window at 5am, but I went out and yelled at him then all was good! This is the worst hotel I have ever been in and the owner doesn't seem to care. This hotel was dirty, the staff was rude and when I aksed for a manager I was ignored. A week later I was finally able to talk to the owner who called himself Mr. Vic. It was obvious he didn't care as long as he made money. This man has no integrity. We booked a suite in advance and when we arrived they put us in a smaller room. When we asked to move into a room like we booked the front desk was very rude, but finally moved us into a room that was worse. Visible stains on the sofa and chairs, paint peeling from the ceiling and when you tried to flush the toilet the handle almost fell off. There are several other choices for hotels in Winslow and I would select one of thoose. read more

So we stopped for the night here and although the room were pretty much clean as we just need a place to sleep to continue our drive back home. Well the bad part was the kids running up n down hallway up stairs n then I walked outside to car and there were grown men chasing each other up n down hall way another man who opened the window by door I guess so he could reach through n open door. Overcharged credit card... Make sure to get a copy of your room charges My total room charge was $56.79, but they charged my credit card for $61.08. I wouldn't have found this out except I asked for a copy of my invoice. When the woman at the counter handed it to me she looked at it and said, oh they charged your CC the wrong amount, I'll talk to my manager about fixing that. Well, it never got corrected, so I emailed the motel a month later. No reply, so I called them 4 days after I emailed them and spoke to Mike. He said he'd take care of it, well they never did. So I contested it with my CC and I was given the credit. However, it was a small enough amount, under $5, I doubt they went after the motel. I have a feeling that this may be a practice. If this was an honest mistake, it should have been rectified without me contacting them, at the very least, when I did contact them. Breakfast was pathetic, we looked it over and didn't eat anything. We arrived, and I had booked a room with one bed, and a room with two beds, at different prices. Check in took 20 minutes, after waiting approximately 15 while the young lady at the front desk checked in the people in front of us. I was given my two keys, and asked which room had only one bed, and was told "Neither, we don't have rooms with only one queen bed". Funny, that's what I reserved and paid for! The receptionist was sometimes cheerful, sometimes snippy...all in the 20 minutes! We headed up to our room, and I was disappointed. There was no elevator. The carpet was dirty so I felt I had to keep my shoes on. The refrigerator didn't work. The shower was hard to operate. I was exhausted, so I didn't make a fuss, which was a good thing. The next morning I heard another couple saying they nearly got kicked out of the hotel for complaining about their room! Seriously! They said they had to call corporate in the middle of the night! Breakfast was disappointing. Some iffy looking sausages. Waffle batter that stuck to the iron and all you got was a pile of crumbs. Lukewarm milk sitting on the counter not on ice. I recently took a road trip to Petrified Forest National Park at the end of December. After spending a day at the park, I was looking for a nearby hotel to spend a night with my two dogs. Having 2 dogs, I have to shop around for the best deal. At the same time I want to stay at a safe and clean place. I use Booking app on my phone. Before I reserve a room, I try to drive around the properties (if possible) before actually making a reservation. I found a few places in Winslow from $25 to 45 per night. I drove by all of them and circled around the parking lots of the 2 places I was interested in. I went with Economy Lodge at the end of the town. I was pleasantly surprised. The room was $30 for the night plus $10 per dog fee. It was a standard double queen room on a second floor. I had to make several trips to bring in my stuff. I don't remember seeing an elevator. However, I was very happy with how big the room was. It even had a table and 2 chairs. It had a coffee maker, a microwave, a fridge, and a hair dryer! I was able to shampoo and dry my very long hair that night. The free Wifi was fast with strong signal. Hot continental breakfast was also included. They offered sausage, waffle, coffee, pastries, etc. The hotel was old but it was clean and comfortable. The staff was courteous. The room had dark old carpet. I always bring a pair of slippers when I travel, so I don't need to think about whether the carpet is clean. It was snowing outside, so it was so nice to be able to stay in a nice room at such a great deal. read more

One of the worst places ever. First room; no hot water, no water pressure, no t.v. and you had to left up hard to get the door to latch. Second room; low water pressure, no light covering in bathroom, paint peeling in bathroom, shower curtain rod low on wall and large holes from where it used to be anchored on the wall. One star only because I have to issue one. While driving on the 40, we checked the internet & saw a rate of $59. When we called, we were told that rate was out dated & it was going to be $69. The clerk asked our name so he could ensure we'd get that rate. When we arrived 15 minutes later, no one was at the front desk, rang the night bell 3 times with no response. Eventually, the clerk emerged (from his cave?) only because we called him on the phone & woke him up. He asked my name & what rate I was quoted but wouldn't honor it & "insisted" the rate for the night was $89. When I requested him to honor the $69 rate, he became agitated, verbally abusive & somewhat violent. Not what I'd call hospitable. We stayed at the Econo Lodge in Winslow Arizona April 2, 2021. I'm walking up with like four other people to check in and the manager at front desk girl I don't know who she was Hispanic pulls up in a car or were you checking in it's OK you know will be back in like 15 or 20 minutes we're running across the street. This is what she tells me like 40 minutes later they come back why all of us are waiting to check in in the lobby. They were across the street buying food all of them all the employees and then they sit in the parking lot and eat it while we still waiting to check in. We get into our room she said we would have a coffee maker and a fridge. We had no coffee maker. They were dirty towels behind the bathroom door and dirty bathtub with soap still in it. The bedsheets look like shit there's hair all over them and the comforters were stained terribly whoever is running this Econolodge should have their franchises see removed or these people need to be fired. I spoke to someone in the. In the lobby while we were waiting and she stays here frequently because it's close to where she needs to go and she says the same thing happens every time they're always making her wait like 15 or 20 minutes while they run across the street all of their front desk employees so we can't get checked in the rooms are disgusting and they act like it was out of their way to actually check us into a hotel I will never ever ever stay here again Not to mention used spit out tooth paste in my shower black hair in the shower black hair in my bed. 1/2 uses shampoo on the sink. TERRIBLE. I advise you stay away from sleeping here if you care about cleanliness, comfort and customer service. My family checked into one room and it was dirty with no towels and the front desk was very upset that we were bothering her about it. I'm torn. I thought the front fesk man was being kind when he gave me a discount of $65 (plus tax = $72.00) because I was checking in at 1am from an exhausting long drive with my 4 year old. Picked this place from the prices on Orbitz. Booked the room. When we arrived, everything was ready to go, the staff greeted us by name, This is the first place I've stayed that about 1/2 hour into the stay I got a call asking if everything was okay or if we needed anything. Well done! The rooms are big and quiet (for the most part) and the bed very comfortable. Everything worked well (see below) and is well cared for The hot tub is exactly that, HOT. Very good for eliminating the stresses of a days' drive. the time needs some work, but I did inform the staff. Parking is well lit and visible from your room. Large vehicle parking on one side of the place is available. Downsides: - The wireless internet was flakey for me. Would connect to the Access Point but could not get out onto the internet. Had to reboot the computer to get "out." Seems I was alone in this problem, the staff could not duplicate it. - It is a hotel, you hear the sounds outside and around you. Not bad but there. Stayed here as we were passing through. The front desk man was very nice and talkative and took about 5 mins to find me the best rate he could with AAA that actually beat the rate I had found online by a couple bucks. The parking lot is a little tight for larger vehicles but overall is not a major issue. The location being right off the interstate is nice for those who are simply traveling through. Our room was clean, and featured a flat panel TV with directv access. The wifi was somewhat slow but overall it was on par with most other hotels. The towels and linens are not of high quality, but that is expected for a hotel in this price range. The room was extremely quiet - never heard any outside noise whatsoever. Keep in mind this is a $45/night room - not a 4 star resort. For the money, and a place to stay while passing through, I think this is by far the best value in Winslow. The breakfast was small and super simple. The hot breakfast consisted of make your own Belgian waffles and some sausage links. The cold breakfast had all of the normal cheap hotel staples: bread, bagels, donuts, bananas, coffee, and raisin bran with milk. The also had orange juice as a beverage. The breakfast was nothing spectacular, but again, for a $45/ night room, you shouldn't be expecting anything spectacular. It was a decent breakfast that helped avoid having to make one more stop in the morning. I would rate it as sufficient. If I am ever passing through Winslow again and need a room for the night, I will look no further than this place. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We pulled in around 12 am. Asked if I left my id if I could see a room. Was informed he doesn't show rooms. I asked what if I rent a room and don't like it? He said again I don't show rooms, you go now! I said so I can't get a room? He said go back to your country!? I'm an American I said so this is my country! So, we went on to the next exit in Winslow and stayed at a motel 6 that was decent enough for a few hours sleep. When checking in a lady was behind me who had just left the econo Lodge and she said he was rude to her as well telling her to leave that she was rude because he couldn't understand that she was saying she had three people not just herself. My husband and I have been planning a trip to Winslow for a decade. This weekend, we made that dream come true. Little did we know that the Econo Lodge at 2035 W. 3rd St would be an unethical disaster. We checked in, had a horrible experience, and checked out. (Earl's took good care of us instead! Go there!!!!!) The female working the counter at Econo was the rudest person I have ever dealt with at a hotel. She barked at patrons, put us in a black mold-infested room with broken lights and someone's clothes in the dresser, and told us they had NO TOWELS to give us! There is no ice machine, no vending machines, no pool, no hot tub, no breakfast, no microwave in the room, fridge freezer was solid with a block of ice, broken window latches, and the images of the property displayed on their website are false marketing ploys. The place should be condemned and shut down. In conversing with business owners and other tourists, Econo has 2 black eyes when it comes to how it operates. Something needs to be done... fast. read more
