This place had great reviews on hotels.com. When we arrived they had been struck by lighting 5 days before. There should have been a post on their website stating that the wifi was out and the hot water was not a sure thing. The check in lady was super nice and helpful. The pool is not good at all. We feel like this hotel was top notch related to other "3-star" (comfort-rating) hotels hence we have a Yelp 5 star rating. Of course, the amenities and luxury options here will be less than 4 or 5 star hotels. We have enjoyed our one-night stay at Best Western Winslow. Lobby was very nice and the staff was friendly upon arrival around 9pm. We were called a few days earlier and asked if we would mind being upgraded to a Queen suite (2 beds in one room and a little living room pull out sofa in a small room on the side. It worked perfectly for our family of 4. The room was nice and clean and toiletries were still the grab-and-go kind. Kids wanted to swim right away. The pool was smaller, but enough for them to jump in, play around a bit, swim a few quick laps, and get out. Fitness center was well-equipped and open at 7am. My husband got a nice workout in this morning. Fresh(er) cooked breakfast - pretty good options didn't look overly greasy or liquid. Sausage, eggs, hash browns, and biscuits. There was also gravy off to the side. I enjoyed the little specialty coffee maker. The breakfast lady, Celine, was helpful and friendly. She took great care to keep the area clean and well-stocked. I would definitely stay here again - if we ever come back to Winslow, AZ. read more

Nice, Clean Establishment That Is Close To The Interstate. It Was Quiet, Staff Was Friendly And It Was Very Quiet

This hotel is located just off the interstate but not so close you can hear the traffic. I was in town for a time sensitive event and their front desk let me check in an hour early which I really appreciate! I was impressed with how clean the place was and how friendly all the staff was. My only issue was when we returned later in the evening, our room felt warm and read 72 on the machine but we felt that wasn't accurate. We ended up turning it down to 65 and that did help. They have a great continental breakfast!! I would for sure consider coming back here to stay again! read more

Pros: customer service was so friendly and accommodating. Leslie who makes the hot breakfast every morning was so sweet and the food was delicious. Pool looked nice although I did not get in. Very quiet at night, no noisy neighbors. Rooms were spacious, bathroom was huge, and a very convenient location is Winslow. Cons: the bed was somewhat uncomfortable and I unfortunately woke up with a sore back. Mattress seemed old and sunken a little. Overall it's a great hotel. I would definitely return. read more

This was the "Worst" Western ! Besides all of the things on my last review , they added charges onto the listed price for a night. I was charged for free membership in Global Privileges...I didn't want...and $38 for some kind of Recovery Fee. The on line price went from $112 to $187. If I could give zero stars I would. Stopped here only because storms were coming. I checked in and the front desk clerk kept swiping my debit card. She apologized and told me the holds would fall off my bank at midnight when there was an audit. Our room STANK. It was disgusting. The bed foundations that you could see on the sides were filthy and had (questionable?) stains. We didn't want to touch anything. The next morning we checked out and an all-new hold was on my bank. This hold eventually fell off when the charge went through. Here it is, days after and I just called because of these holds and the clerk told me "I hate to tell you, these holds can take up to two weeks to fall off." The holds that THEY placed!! We arrived really late at night and we're so glad that despite our late arrival there was a staff member up and ready to help us check in. The room was modern, clean and smelled wonderful! It was very quiet (we stayed in room 209). The complimentary breakfast was delicious! Bacon was well prepared but the kicker was the roasted potatoes! So good! THE GOOD: early check in (2pm) and late check out (11am) mean lots of flexibility in your travel schedule THE BAD: ...but it also means the understaffed housekeeping crew does not have enough time to clean rooms well THE UGLY: ...so this is probably why there was a smear of what appeared to be feces on the toilet seat of the bathroom in my room. If that hasn't put you off staying here, be advised that rooms 230 and 231 overlook the lobby. You will hear every conversation in the lobby, every shriek of joy from children playing in the pool, and every time a guest uses the world's loudest ice machine by the elevator. read more

Front desk did not honor the confirmation price we received from best western directly. We ended up paying $30.00 more. Not happy, all the front desk would say is that is what is on the screen. This was probably one of the best hotels to stay at in Winslow; however it is not in downtown Winslow and is right off I-40 but I would recommend staying here than the other hotels if you're planning to stay in town (even La Posada I would avoid). Hotel is okay and the rooms are decent. Bathrooms are probably one of the nicest parts of the hotel which seemed to be renovated. During COVID, Grab and go breakfasts were offered - cereal, a breakfast sandwich, yogurt, granola bars, water, juice, coffee, etc. Pool and gym were open but required a max number of people. Free outdoor parking and late check out only offered till 12. Staff were friendly; only complaint was that they offer check in at 2 but it was t ready until 4:30. Also, the air conditioner/heater is very noisy and woke us up throughout the night. Despite the minor things, I Still would recommend staying here if you were to lodge in Winslow! read more

Great hotel. Super staff and especially the little girl working the desk. I was pretty weary after 10 days and 5,000 miles on the road and her kindness and cheerfulness was very welcome. She told me several times that she was glad I was there. If she wasn't my Granddaughter's age I might have thought she was hitting on me :) They gave me a complimentary upgrade which is always appreciated. Nice suite. Unfortunately, no freezer in the fridge which was a bummer because it's been hotter than the surface of the sun and I needed to freeze my bottles of water and scotch ice for the cooler. Grab and go bagged breakfast but this one wasn't that bad. Most hotels give you and apple and a muffin..... maybe costs the a buck. These guys put quite a lot in the bag including a huge, tasty breakfast sandwich that I saved for the following evening. Prices were decent. Room was very comfortable. Most Important for me- Beds were very comfortable, linens were higher Thread count, therefore very soft and cool. The room was very clean and well stocked with keurig, ( multiple choices of coffees and teas. Bathroom had plenty of large, good quality towels! Nice citrus scented shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and .....large bars of citrusy soaps. Breakfast was the best I've seen! Homemade oatmeal with toppings, omelets and sausage, country potatoes, cereals, fresh fruit, juice, milk, coffee. There was even a multi flavor cappuccino machine. Pros: 1. Charming. Nice artwork with a very AZ homey characteristic. Call me partial to my homestate but this felt homey inside the rooms and hallways. 2. Staff is friendly. Special shout out to Becky who is a patient and kind soul. Everyone else was great as well. 3. Plenty of parking for big uhaul pulling a car- in fact there were several others like us:) Becky was also very kind to guide us on the phone where and how to park it. 4. Indoor heated (perfect temperature!) pool. I was so excited to get the chance to go for a swim even though it's winter, that I woke up unnaturally early to go for one- lol. 5. Breakfast was definitely one of the best hotel breakfast spreads I've seen, and the woman who hosts the breakfast, though I didn't catch her name, saw so thoughtful and friendly, offering me a cardboard "tray" to help me carry food upstairs when she realized I had my hands full- and that made all the difference :). Pancakes you can make fresh in a nifty machine, biscuits and gravy, hashbrown, eggs, bacon, oatmeal, cereal, fruits, yogurt etc! 6. No sign of bed bugs. Yep, I check the seams of the bed with my phone Flashlight EVERY time I stay in a hotel and you should too! Pro tip: I always search reviews on yelp and Google for the word "bug" before booking a stay as well. It's my first criteria because they can be somewhere fancy and expensive or somewhere cheap, they just want blood! So yeah this is a big pro for me as I won't stay if there is any sign of those little vampires! Cons accounting for one star loss: 1. I found a few hairs in the bed. Not the end of the world but not the best. 2. Shower - water pressure and heat were lack luster, and the shower didn't drain down - it was still plugged up when we left after I used it a few hours prior, and it sounded drippy. Maybe this was a one off for my specific room, but it was the biggest downside to our stay. 3. Very minor, esp since it's winter, but the pool seems to have dirty walls and needs a good scrubbing. But hey, I still enjoyed a lovely warm swim this morning anyways! 4. Ac/ heat unit a little loud and finicky but this is fairly common. Overall it was good for a night passing through. read more

This hotel was nice and clean. The employees were all wearing their masks properly. I checked in pretty late and the guy at the front desk was perky and friendly and made check in lovely. The Good, the Bad, and the oh sh!t The good: Just 1 block off I-40, pleasant staff, comfortable bed, super quiet HVAC, blackout curtains, coffeemaker with Wolfgang Puck coffee, and a mini-fridge with temp control to get your road snacks nicely chilled (it was set to barely chill, so I cranked it). All good for folks looking for a good night's rest. After all, Winslow is not a destination, it's a pit stop. The bad: the included breakfast (limited in any event due to Covid) is not available until 6. I was ready to roll before 5:30 . There were no water cups or water bottles in the room. Give be a break. I have never stayed at a hotel or motel that didn't provide one or the other. Two paper coffee cups were provided, but only one lid*. I would have liked to take two cups on the road, but* (*see oh sh!t below). Finally, based on my 4 prior cross country drives, this hotel is $40 more than it should be, but I do realize that's because there is no competition. I guess if you find this is your spot to get off the road, then this is price you pay. The Oh sh!t: I took my one covered to-go coffee cup to the car, settled in and took a sip, not! Apparently, the lid did not fit right even though I had secured it, so my sip doused my chest and lap with hot coffee. Fortunately it was not scalding hot, but it quickly turned chilly (because it was 35 degrees out, including in my car) and, of course, I was soaked, and also stained the seat of my Mom's nearly new car. I drove to the Flying J across I-40 to gas up and try to clean up. So embarrassing walking in looking like I had drooled and pissed myself My only consolation was that at 5:30am there was a young lady at Flying J making and serving up Cinnabon's. Stayed over one night during a cross country trip. Price was just little over $100 with tax. Front desk were very friendly. They have a pool but not deep. Deepest is 5 feet They have a good fitness center. There was one treadmill, a stationary bicycle and an elliptical machines. The stationary bike was having issues loading the workout programs, however. The center also some mechanical weights Room was nice with fridge and bath tub. However, no microwave. You can use the one in the common area. There was a laundry machine also in the laundry area. It was $2 for the laundry and $1 for the drier. They have a small area by the front desk stacked with chips, soap, etc that you can purchase with cash or charge to the room Adding a couple more photos.. read more

Not a Covid safe hotel unfortunately. Would have given it 1 star, but the staff the checked us in was very nice. As we left, noticed the maid cleaning the rooms was not wearing a mask. Asked her if she was required to wear a mask and she said no. Told the front desk and they said she was suppose to, but sort of shrugged it off as an "it is what it is" type thing. I had called the day before to confirm that the staff and guests were required to wear mask, and was told that they are required. Other guests were also not wearing masks. Regret staying there. Would not recommend staying if you are trying to be cautious about Covid. read more

This is possibly and probably one of the best Best Westerns we have ever stayed in. Mostly due to the fact that the service was awesome and the accommodations were clean and comfortable. It's nothing fancy, but this is right up our comfortable alley. From checking in time, Angelica was friendly, helpful, and very competent, to the next morning the morning clerk was helpful, friendly, and very accommodating! Our room was spacious and clean and very comfortable. We did not use the pool, but there were some kids in there who seemed to be enjoying it immensely. I also like the fact that I saw a few dogs, and hotels that are accommodating to pets get extra points in my book. The breakfast, during this CV nonsense, was really good under the circumstances. If we are ever in Winslow again, this is undoubtedly where we will stay! Good job Best Western! read more

We checked in 8/23/16, and checked out 5 minutes later. While the hotel looked really nice and came with a pool and breakfast, we immediately saw ***bed bugs***. We captured one and brought it to the front desk, where they were nice and refunded us our money. Maybe it was an isolated incident? I didn't stick around to find out. Take the risk if you want, but staying at one of the most expensive hotels in Winslow and being eaten by bedbugs wasn't on our to do list. We ended up staying at La Posada was much nicer, similar price, and no bedbugs. read more

I have worked in a four star, five diamond (Mobil stars, and AAA diamonds) hotel, and have been very fortunate to stay in a handful of similarly rated establishments. I can tell you with no amount of hesitation that the friendliness, attention to detail, and the overall commitment to making our stay wonderful was on par with any of the luxury hotels that I have stayed in. I stayed in 4 Best Western hotels during a drive from Mountain View, CA to Chapel Hill, NC and I wish that the other 3 stays were as nice as our stop in Winslow, AZ. I hope this praise reaches the staff there so that they will know that their hard work (I have done it, and it isn't easy) is not unnoticed and unappreciated. A note on the town in general, I have stopped there 4 times on cross country drives and everywhere I go there I have always gotten the absolute best customer service. I asked the front desk clerk at the hotel if there was something in the water that makes the teenagers at the local fast-food places polite. She explained that the economy in the area was not the greatest, and with a small number of jobs available the managers basically get their pick from the best and brightest that Winslow has to offer. Further since jobs are so hard to come by the people who do get them work very hard to keep them. I wish we could transplant this type of attitude to larger failing cities in the US. read more

In short, it's OK. There's nothing wrong with the hotel or my room, but a lot of little things added up. I was in room 226 in late July. ( started the review back then when my memory was fresh, and just finished it up now.) Pros: -The room itself is clean and includes modern furnishings and updated bathroom. It has a nice view off in the distance (of nothing, but that's ok). -It's reasonably priced for a business traveler, $95 for 2 queen beds, with a small desk and chair. -Free WiFi. -Breakfast included. -Right off the highway. -Special 'clean' remote (albeit in a ragged old box). -Front desk clerk was friendly. Cons: -Lobby smelled strongly of chlorine from the small pool. Not a big deal. -TV was a hassle. There's no guide. I spent a bit of time scrolling through channels that they don't get; they need to program those out. -Hallway lighting is weird, kind of dark, and casts a lot of shadows. -Chair in my room is uncomfortable, not a rolling chair, and the screws need to be tightened. -I found a bug in the room (or it found me), a large flying cricket. OK, it happens. I didn't deduct points for this. -Breakfast was basic but not especially good. It's included, as noted above. The breakfast room was so small that I was stepping over people to get anything. I don't know if I'll end up in Winslow again, but I'd probably try another place first. But I have nothing against this place, so it's no big deal if I had to stay there again. read more
