Zero stars, for these SCHEISTERS!! I'm a Cardiac patient who stayed at this JOKE in September. I was required to leave a $100 CASH deposit in addition to the $83/ night room rate. I stayed 2 nights and upon checkout, my health was unwell enough for me to go directly to the hospital for evaluation. Thus, I was physically unable to go into the office to "get" my cash deposit back that morning. I asked my caregiver (whom had checked in with me) to retrieve the money. Vicky refused him the deposit being that he isn't me. She DID however let him know that my nebulizer and medical box was left and she'd hang on to them for ME. Now, 1.5 mos. later this EXCUSE of "accomodations" has "thrown out" my medical goods, and REFUSES to return the $100 deposit. Dave shouts at each and every request from me, stating Vicky owes me my deposit, and his "GM" agrees. The staff are the bed bugs! read more

We stayed here overnight. It was disgusting. The floor was deteriorating as were the walls and baseboards. The bathroom door was filthy. The bedspread was stained and had cigarette burns. The bathroom sink randomly filled with water from the sewage lines, drained again only to refill. Throughout the long night we were disturbed by people making noise outside and in the rooms next door. The room reeked of cigarette smoke. I strongly suggest that you avoid this motel. read more

I realize that there may be nicer hotels in woodland where you can spend well over $100 a night but for us, that is too much. And out of all the motels around we have found the Econo lodge to be the best in not only value but management as well. Vicky is a riot and she always takes the time to say hello to my kids even giving them small Christmas gifts around the holidays. The rooms are clean with most importantly NO ROACHES and the check in and check out process is basic and simple. Stay away from the other motels... get a good night sleep at the Econo lodge woodland. read more

Classic bait and switch - Checked in at 10:30pm and just wanted to unpack and sleep. When we got to the front desk we were informed by the manager that because we used a third party we would need to pay more for a Non smoking room. I informed them that we indeed pre paid online for a NON SMOKING room bc we have a child traveling with bad allergies- they insisted that we had to pay a different rate for non smoking. We showed him our confirmation that said non smoking and that we paid the same price as a smoking room and they finally relented and gave us the room. Not what we wanted to deal with at 10:30pm when my son had a tournament the next morning at 7:30am. Other gripe is the clock in the room was wrong and set four hours early so we though we were late for the tournament when we woke up - thankfully was able to get back to sleep but come on people - at least set the clocks right for the guests! read more

Was provided 2 of the most flat pillows I've ever used. When I asked for an extra pillows for my boyfriend and I to be comfortable the lady at the office said she would not go to the laundry room at night alone and that there was no way to help. I don't find the hospitality to be very good here. If I'm paying 100 a night somewhere and need an extra pillow I would hope that it wouldn't be an issue but not the case here. Most hotels provide 4 to begin with but two VERY flat ones is so uncomfortable. read more

We're driving to Olympia and needed to stay somewhere near Sacramento to sleep so we decided to find a hotel that's economical but clean. Went on yelp as I always did and saw some good reviews about this place. For $75 a night, I thought this was great! It's clean and spacious. The bathroom is really nice and tidy. The front desk guy, I think his name is Ash was very efficient and friendly. This is a great stop for travelers. They even have breakfast from 6:30- 9:30! What a treat! Stayed here last night. Had my mom book it for me through a third party. Everything went pretty smoothly at check-in. My mom did call earlier to make sure I could check-in even though she used her card to pay for the room. Just had to have my ID and another credit card for accidentals. She said the man that answered was very friendly. When I checked in, I'd have to agree. The man at the front desk was pretty cool! He held a great conversation. He got us a room on the first floor because we had two sleeping kids to carry, haha. I had to come back in to ask for two more pillows and he didn't even seemed bothered and offered to drop them off at our room. Very accommodating. This all happened at 11:30pm. Only complaint I have was that it's a little older and dirty in the crevices of things. The doors were so old it sounded like people were slamming them to open and close (us too). I did notice they updated the floors to wood. That's a nice update. But to be honest.. if I could change one major thing... NEW BEDS! They were pretty UNcomfortable. Felt like I was sleeping on springs covered in cardboard. Linens were thin and the top cover was a little stained and dirty (sad face). We ended up kicking that to the floor. But that AC. It kicks a**. Breakfast is okay. Could be a little better by adding more selections of fruit. Definitely a decent cheaper option. read more

This guy is a complete joke, and not to forget a proven con artist. My wife and I thought it looked cute and decent for the price. We got to the counter, and the manager/owner who referred to himself as "DJ" said to the customer ahead of us that he owed room plus tax, although this customer already pre-paid and showed his receipt to the DJ and then turned around and showed us a legitimate receipt. Now, the other customer (upset) goes to his vehicle to call his employer to get additional funds. Now it's our turn to step up to the plate. I hand this DJ my drivers license and he states that our room is smoking, which our reservation clearly stated "non-smoking" so DJ tells us it will be an additional $7 for a non smoking room (what!?) now the kicker, he starts to work on his computer and pulls out a calculator for over three minutes, and my wife and I put the cash away which I placed on his counter. I tell my wife this DJ is very suspicious and was writing down my personal information from my drivers license on a piece of paper and NOT in their computer system, very, very strange. Now I do not feel comfortable and tell DJ to cancel our reservation. DJ tells us he's charging my credit card for the entire stay. Below is their updated PUBLIC Cancellation policy posted by Choice Hotels and the Hotel: Cancellation Deadline: If you need to change or cancel this reservation, you may do so up until Sunday, Jan 28, 2018 before 4:00 PM hotel time and will not be charged. The reservation cannot be cancelled through email. We checked in at 3:07 PM Pacific Standard Time. We moved the funds out of our business card account so that the card would decline on DJ for pulling this scam and called and canceled that specific debit card. Be very cautious and be warned he had an open bag of marijuana sitting behind him on the back counter. I have contacted Choice Hotel corporate and am reaching out to their regional manager for this district. DJ I am going to ensure that the local authorities are aware of what you pulled and am nervous he may attempt to use my personal information since he wrote it on a piece of paper and slipped it into his wallet. I stayed at the Econo Lodge for a weekend for a popular festival that had the entire hotel sold out for the weekend. I booked a room for myself and a room for my dad. I explained that my dad's room needed TWO beds because he would be brining someone he preferred not to share a bed with. They called me two days later advising they mistakenly overbooked the last room that had two beds. Annoying but was able to push through. When it came time to check in I was given room 116. As soon as I put the key in the door I couldn't even open it. Another guest at the hotel told me i need to push on the top left corner. Now this was fine and dandy up until the point where I closed the door from inside. Neither my boyfriend or I could get the door open from the inside for the life of us. People from the outside had to help us open our door every single time. Thank GOD there were people there. Not to mention there was a huge crack in the ceiling right above the bed as if the second floor had previously caved in. When we turned on the TV the entire top left corner of the LED screen was blacked out. Unfortunately this is the only thing I took a picture of. When I addressed these issues with the front desk, I learned someone had lived in our hotel room for months and they needed more maids than usual to clean the room before we checked in. I was promised a discount for the inconvenience of getting trapped in my room amongst other things. The woman working the desk said the manager was out of town and would get in touch with me later that week. He never did. When I called he was still not in and the lady said they would call me later that day. They never did. I checked out on Oct. 14. It is officially one month later and absolutely no word from them. Very disappointed and will definitely be staying elsewhere when I come back next year. read more

We checked in after midnight, I stayed in our vehicle on the phone and could see Joel feverishly pacing in the office (kinda creepy). He then called my friend twice to say we couldn't have friends visit in our room for a little despite how quiet we were intentionally being. An internet search told me this is a pet friendly hotel, which led me to making a reservation here. When I got there, there is a sign in the lobby that clearly states pets are strictly prohibited. They could of been jerks and charged me for the room or $150 for my dog. However, they kindly cancelled my reservation without a fee and even offered my family and I water bottles. I understand that the policy is the policy, but I appreciate that they weren't jerks about it. I had to meet family to pick up my daughter at the end of her vacation in Woodland. We agreed to meet at 7:00am, which meant driving from home, I'd have to be up by 4:00am, and on the road no later than 4:45am. Yuck! I decided to drive up the night before. My husband and I arrived at Econolodge at about 9pm. The property manager was very warm and helpful - he even offered us his personal discount at Ludy's BBQ. Unfortunately, we didn't make it to Ludy's to try out the ribs, but we will next time for sure! We checked in without incident and were sent right to our room. The room was small, but comfortable, and very clean. Remember, this is a discount place, so no frills - except the jacuzzi tub that was huge! I had a wonderful soak then a very restful sleep on a comfortable bed. I could hear the neighboring guests as they came and went, but nothing once they were inside their rooms. Check-out in the morning went smoothly and I was greeted with a warm smile and thanks from the property manager. He does seem to enjoy the business of having guests, and goes out of his way to make people feel welcome. This is a GREAT spot to stop and rest for the travel-weary. We will probably never do the early morning drive again, now that we've found a good place to sleep! read more

First let's start with the uncleanliness of the place and the fact that they are still using covid as an excuse to not maintain much such as coffee in rooms or even in the lobby, but they UP-CHARGE for an ADA accessible room. My husband uses a Cain, can not climb stairs and has asthma. When we booked we booked an ADA ground floor, non-smoking room ; they knew he couldn't climb stairs but insisted that we stay in an upstairs smoking room. When I asked how he's supposed to get to the room if he can't climb, the attendant giggled and said , it'll be expensive, but another $20 for an ADA room. This place literally held us hostage with paying extra. Either we paid the extra fee or too bad, no refund either. I understand if they were overbooked or we wanted a nicer room, but this was an absolute slap in the face to all disabled folks . If an establishment can take advantage they f and treat disabled folks this way, it's not an establishment that deserves any kind of business from anyone. read more

Surprisingly comfortable This was a great place to stay if you're on an extremely tight budget. The room was very clean and I liked the layout. There were firm pillows available, which is necessary for those of us who snore all night. The hotel service was also very friendly. I accidentally left my cell phone in the room, and the cleaning lady quickly ran out with it before my boyfriend and I drove away. The room itself is decent. There is no closet, but I like the recessed area for my luggage. The bathroom is large, probably because it's an ADA room (although I didn't specifically ask for one). I got a good night's sleep and did not wake up with a backache. However, the continental breakfast they offer is the worst I've ever encountered. All they offer in the form of food is some oranges and packaged pastries, the kind you buy in 7-11. There are envelopes of instant oatmeal, but no milk to go with it. And no place to really sit and enjoy your food. Not that I would want to sit there, since there's really nothing to enjoy. read more

We stayed here on a Saturday night while touring the Sacramento Delta area. I'm shocked by the reviews I'm reading of this place on Yelp. Our room was clean and quiet and seemed to be recently renovated. The air conditioning quickly and quietly cooled our room despite the 90+ outdoor temperature. Water temperature and pressure in the bathroom were fine, though the shower didn't have a lot of fancy settings like in expensive hotels. Also, it was a shower stall without a bathtub. All of the staff that we met were friendly. We booked the room on the company website and got exactly the price that was quoted to us. Our rate was $66 + tax ($74 total) for a non-smoking queen room on a Saturday night, which I think is a bargain price for a place that is not a dump. Location is a mile from the downtown historical district and you don't want to talk that far during the summer heat in this area, but the area the motel is in seemed clean and safe. Breakfast is just basic pastries, whole bananas, fruit juice and coffee, but that's enough to get us going in the morning and a nice freebie for the low price of this room. I don't normally rate motel stays, but wanted to write this one because my experience was so much different from what others are reporting. 5 stars because the room greatly exceeded my expectations for this price, especially compared to the other reviews here on Yelp. read more

I would have given them 2.5 stars, but Yelp only deals with full stars. When we checked in, the manager tried to charge us for an extra person (1 room, 2 queen beds, 3 people). He said the room was only for 2 people, so the third person would be extra. I showed him my receipt that clearly stated we had booked for 3 persons. I triple checked his receipt with my receipt to make sure the prices stated were correct (they were). The refrigerator in the room wasn't working right. It barely kept anything cold. The hair dryer in the bathroom wouldn't stay on the holder. No extra blankets in the room (and it was a cold night and we didn't want the heater running all night long). I don't think there was a manager on at night. If there was, he certainly didn't hear the LOUD kids yelling and running through the hallways and up and down the stairs at 11:30pm. Nor did he hear the parents (ground level) shouting at the kids (second level). Breakfast is very meager. Coffee, juice, toast, pre-packaged pastry, oatmeal and green bananas. I booked a room for a future date and paid for it on the comfort website. In the process the reservations defaulted to the same day I booked the reservation. I caught the error the next day when I had a chance to review the reservation. When I called in the person with a heavy accent said my mistake resulted in his room not being rented and since I was a no show I my card was charged. Asked if I could apply the charge towards the future booking he said no. Pure bs on this. Defaulting dates on the web page especially when using a phone app to do so sets this type of situation to readily occur. I want my money back. This is a deceitful practice. Whether it was initially intentional or not contuing not to set up the reservation date selection option in a user requiement is a fradulent business practice. Stayed here for the Red Red Holiday 7 roller derby tournament in town. Being on a budget I don't expect much. Breakfast exceeded my expectations by having make-it-yourself waffles. Yum! Other choices were toast, bananas, packaged danishes, oatmeal, and a few drinks. I was ready for a day of derby after breakfast! I'm giving three stars because we didn't get house keeping while we were gone even though we were out of the room just after 8. Also, the night staff that checked us in was not particularly friendly. We were in San Diego when Spirit airlines canceled our flight. The next available flight was not for three days and I needed to be back in Portland OR for work. We could have book another airline but it would have been an additional $700 to fly the family home. So we took the cash from the refunded tickets and rented a car. I wanted to drive strait on through but my sensible wife had us stop to rest along the way. We Yelped the nearest and cheapest lodging and came to the Woodland Econo Lodge. Let me start of by saying the room smelt horrible ! It was a non smoking room and it smelt like smoke ! It was disgusting! I literally had to go to Walmart and by febreeze for the room , which didn't help at all ! They had no tv remote in the room and when I asked the front to help me out , he stated by saying he never goes in the rooms so he has no idea how to work the TVs . I left early in the morning, and made sure everything was clean. They added charges on my account that were not authorized, and when I called and ask what the charge for the person on the phone was VERY rude and argumentative. He said the add on charge was because I had two extra people in my room. I originally said I'd only have two people in the room because that was the plan . Plans changed and I had two friends stop by , the man on the phone proceed to tell me that these people stayed the night and I told him that only two people slept in that hotel that night . He continued to fight with me on how more then two people stayed the night , which is not true . If that was the case why didn't the front desk say anything to me when I checked out . And the cooler smelled a little stuffy but it went away after we ran it. sketchy people around but I think you get that being right off a major interstate still in a way better location then motel 6 or the one next to it wich is located right next to a shut down sonic wich the homeless have converted into a little nest with keepsakes stolen out of vehicles such as GPS holders and such. We stayed in this hotel for 8 days check in date was 8/22/2016 to 8/30/2016 we came to an agreement with the Manager to pay $75 per night cash no taxes no recipe so i gave him $600. Then we got another 8 days same thing $75 per night $600 cash no taxes no recipe, check in date 8/30/2016 to 9/6/2016. So the fist week was ok no problem, the the second week well 2 days we got a phone call about some damages on the room so we went to go check it out. The manager said that we cut the sheets/blankets, so we said lets go look see. First the bed was made and there was a cut like 6 inches long, into all 6 sheets/blankets. He was blaming us, he said i got pictures but thats after the bed was made. So we went to talk to the maid that did the bed, she was just smirking. The manager said he wanted to kick us out with no refund, so we told him we were going to call the cops. So he called the cops and said we wanted to hit him and that he was scared. I talked to another maid and she said that they scam people like that they have a set of sheets that are ripped and tell the customers is was them they charge us $250 for something that we didn't do. The manager is money hungry. Just make sure you read the agreement paper before you sign it. Pls people be careful. read more

It was ok. Our biggest complaint wasn't as much with them as hotels.com that said they would have a crib for us so we didn't bring one. Other than that it was ok. The room was decent. It had a microwave and fridge which was nice. The shower was dreadful. It was tiny and I think our garden hose at home has more water pressure.
