It's rare to find a hotel this clean, quite, comfortable, and with so many amenities at this price point! This will be top of my list to recommend to friends and family when they need a place to stay locally. I had to evacuate from a fire in the next town over at midnight. Night manager Katrin was welcoming and kind to me, and got me checked in quickly. The room smelled so fresh and clean, but without obnoxious freshener spray smell that hotels sometimes have. This is clearly a well-maintained Marriott property. Continental breakfast is available as well as a 24 hr coffee bar. Best of all, it's almost impossible for me to find beds that are this comfortable in any hotel. The mattresses were soft but supportive and really contributed to a good nights sleep. They also have an indoor pool. Overall, so many amenities! Parking might get a little tight, but the hotel was almost booked out and I managed to find a close spot. If you are traveling with a lot of family or luggage, definitely drop everyone off with bags at the check-in roundabout and ask for bell service. Another thing that stood out: it was really, really quiet. Hard if not impossible to find in a centrally located hotel. I'm truly tickled to find such a gem of a hotel within 30 minutes. Unfortunately this is not the first nor the last time I will need to evacuate from wild fire, and this way a comfy and peaceful spot to land. read more

Bad (*unsafe*) location. And they make you park your car across the street in an unsecured lot. It was like driving through the bad parts of Oakland just getting there from the freeway. Pimps in the middle of the road even. I had heard Stockton could be a little rough, but those four or five blocks were *bad*. The wife was a little freaked, and she spent years living in Oakland. Oh. Then there is check-in. The tall skinny white girl at the counter rattled off in near-monotone the important items... without taking a breath. She wants me to do one thing, then immediately starts in on the next bit and gets condescending with me when I explain that I am neurodivergent, and if she could please slow down, I might not get overwhelmed and have a meltdown, because I just spent an ungodly number of hours behind the wheel in a very tense atmosphere due mostly to crappy roads and scary drivers, and now a crappy neighborhood in an overpriced crappy hotel. Not to say it isn't beautiful; it is. Great outdoor seating area. Phenomenal patio furniture arranged around fire pits and with industrial strength umbrella stands for when the sun gets too hot. Nice pool area. Outdoor pool table. Etc. Nice? Very. And clean too. But don't look out into the water at the edge of the property. The bay, or lagoon, whatever it is, is reflective with a rainbow of oil slicks and garbage floating on the surface, collecting along the rocks at the edge. It's disgusting. The room we had was on the second floor. Would have preferred a ground floor due to having a dog, but we instead ended up what felt like miles from the elevator in a room with a lovely view of the HVAC system, which managed to wake me every hour on the hour beginning at 2am. Not a happy camper. Also, the hallway temperature on floor 2 was *really* warm. Not only am I having to lug everything to the second floor and miles down a side wing, but every time the dog needs to potty, it means I am carrying her as she is old, with a heavy fur coat, and can't handle walking in the heat. She also just has a hard time because she has a pinched nerve making her gait difficult. All things that I mentioned the following morning and was told glibly, "you could have asked for another room." Like somehow it's my fault you put me in crappy room, as far away from any amenities or doggy areas as possible and where the A/C that somehow doesn't work in the floor hallways manages to keep me up all night as it regularly turns on and off. I expect my host to know the hotel well enough that rooms are recommended based on guest needs. I shouldn't have to do your work for you. You should have known that is a crap room, to be filled as a last resort, and definitely not for older people with older pets. And the hotel was virtually empty. And I am most certainly not going to ask for a new room at 3am so I can pack everything up including the dog and her gear to a new room when I am only staying one night. The final B.S. was served up the following morning. We needed to transport our gear to the car, but there weren't any luggage carts available. When asked, the same receptionist said they were all in use, and I would just have to wait. Nearly 30 minutes later, I had to carry everything down manually. Just me, traveling with an elderly dog and a handicapped partner. And the staff just watched me struggle. The ONLY thing I can honestly recommend at this hotel, and its only redeeming value IMHO, is the restaurant. Staff were incredible, kind, happy, and the steak was the best thing about the whole stay. Can't speak to ambiance as we ordered room service, but the professionalism and kindness of our server was very appreciated. This was the most expensive night we had on a trip with nine other hotel stays, and it was by far the worst. Very disappointing. Two stars. Would have been one if not for the spectacular room service meal. read more

We've been Marriott members for a long time. We've stayed at 3 different Marriott properties in the last year and they all have been lacking in one way or another. My feeling now is that in general there are other lodging options that provide better value than Marriott. This hotel wasn't bad, but it was kind of meh. We picked it only because of its proximity to the Sacramento Airport for a one night stayover before taking an early morning flight. I was grateful we didn't have to spend more than one night. The room was remarkably small, so much so that dealing with 2 large suitcases that we had to live out of for the one night was a bit cumbersome. The bed comfort wasn't what we've been used to in any hotels we typically stay in, so we spent a lot of time tossing and turning and woke up stiff. To add to the poor sleep there was a smoke detector high up on the wall facing the bed that had a green light that would flash intermittently, which in a completely darkened room was a distraction. For a hotel that only has 3 floors the elevator moved so slowly that you'd think someone was operating it via hand crank. In the morning I was grateful that even though it was 4am there was enough breakfast fare available to provide a decent meal even though it was too early for them to have the hot plates going. So that helped make up for other things. The staff were all accommodating too, which was a plus. I don't think we're expecting too much from what is mainly an airport hotel. Power is OUT throughout Woodland!..and many people are affected by this crisis. Thank you PG&E. Luckily, we were able to quickly check in to the Fairfield Inn & Suites at a moment's notice. The hotel quickly filled up with others that were also without power. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff is very friendly, especially under the circumstances of our stay. Isabel, at the front desk, was just awesome and very sympathetic to the circumstances and our needs. We were able to keep the same room for a second night which really helped so we didn't have to check out, hang around, and then check back in. THANK YOU so VERY much, Isabel! Even with the COVID-19 crisis, the *FREE* morning breakfast with servers was great. The last time it was on the ground floor (room 108 or 110, I forget), and there were ants in the bathroom (lots of them, but Yelp wouldn't let me upload the vid). Also the shower drain was not attached, and flipped over with exposed sharp metal. When I contacted the hotel upon return home, Isabel Guzman said that she'd give me 2000 points on my Bonvoy account. Isabel said that the activity wasn't from her hotel (but her Fairfield is the only one I stayed at, or had reservations at, for the last 6 months). Fairfield Inn Wiodland is a great place to stay. I traveled to Woodland for a work assignment and stayed there for a week. From check in to check out, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Always greeting me and asking if things were okay with my stay. Bryce was especially helpful and went above and beyond to help me print a document from their customer printer. The facilities were clean and well kept. The room was pristine. The hot breakfast was always fresh and delicious. My greatest takeaway was the excellent customer service and how staff always greeted me with a smile. Thank you Fairfield Inn Woodland. read more

The staff here is really what makes this property. My room was fine - it was clean and comfortable and I personally did not hear other guests. Wifi and breakfast are free as is the airport shuttle. On that last one, it's a solid 10 minute drive and the shuttle stops at other nearby hotels so plan ahead time wise. Alex at the front desk could not have been nicer when I checked in. I wish I could remember the gentleman working at 3:45am when I got up to catch my shuttle. He offered to make fresh coffee and pull out cereal and milk in case I wanted a quick bite. Made a reservation through Priceline; called to check on shuttle service to airport and long term parking. They said they had both and when calling to confirm my shuttle ride, was told that long term parking is $10. A day. Back in November of 2019, none of these hotels charged for long term parking, now they all do. A complete rip off. Then I had to cancel my reservation a day later and they will not refund my money which was collected in full when making reservation, $120.00. I've just booked another reservation at Hampton's inn in north natomas, asked if I had to cancel again if my room fair would be returned, they replied it would and the full amount!!!! The room was a bit small and the air conditioner was a little loud. Other than that the place had a wonderful morning breakfast which had an assortment of really good food options. I was really happy to see almond milk and other lactose free options for people like me. They had really good muffins and coffee. read more

This hotel was clean and we only stayed one night and we did the park and fly. It was a good deal! It allowed us to stay the night before, we were shuttle to the airport and picked up to the airport and we kept our car there while we were gone for a week without any issues. Please due your diligence and ask the hotel about when they do transportation to coordinate with flights so your not with out a ride. It was worth it and saved us money! read more

Stayed 2 nights at the Fairfield Inn and had a pleasant stay. While The Fairfield Inn isn't the top of the line Marriott properties that I normally stay in, it served it's purpose as we were visiting family in Woodland. The hotel is impeccably clean, and the rooms are comfortable. The room are a little on the small side though. I did enjoy the fitness center. There are 2 treadmills, an elliptical, and lots of weights. Nice little set up if you're looking to stay on track with your training like me. The hotel also serves a free continental breakfast to guests. I didn't eat anything, but I did see a bunch of other hotel guests enjoying the food. My only downfall of this property, and really the reason why I subtracted one star is the level of customer service. No muss, no fuss. Meaning, they aren't warm and fuzzy, and definitely no small talk. They aren't welcoming, and do not thank guests for high tier status like myself. Because we have family in the area, we will stay again as I am loyal to Marriott. read more

I have to imagine the people who provided the reviews about how large this place was stays at the Motel 6 regularly. This hotel is incredibly small. I travel across the country every other week and I'm besides myself. The bathroom is about half the size of the 100 sqft you get. The bed absolutely sucks too. I usually sleep better on the road at Marriotts then I do at home but for some reason the beds here aren't good when they are everywhere else across the country. The room was clean, of course it's pretty easy to clean when there is hardly enough room for a bed. The gent at the front desk was kind and inquisitive. I would have provided a 1 Star if not for him. I'll be looking for a new hotel tomorrow. read more

Beware - do not stay at this place . There is fraud and theft but the staff here . I stayed on Monday and when I returned to my room, my hotel room door was open and propped open with the door lock . Nothing appeared to be taken until I went to use my bank card for only to find my bank card was drained to zero . When I questioned the staff they became hostile and confrontation . I was shocked ! I just lost a family member on this day and to have my money stolen by what I thought was a nicer hotel is a shameful. read more

I've stayed at this hotel many times when doing work at UC Davis, and both the staff and accommodations have always been great. However, today, I was en route from Reno to San Francisco and needed a place to take a virtual meeting in the afternoon. Not only did they allow me to take my meeting at the hotel, but they even hooked me up with their board room to do so! I was here for a few hours, and the staff was extremely accommodating. Really well-run, well-designed, and well-built. I thought the design of the rooms and the accoutrement was more like a mainline Marriott or at least a Courtyard. I also had a room closer to the highway but I couldn't hear anything, it was pretty quiet and relaxing (not even a whisper of noise from the nearby SMF airport). Fitness area and pool were pretty standard for a Fairfield (outdoor pool as you might expect in California) and the breakfast was on par or slightly above par with other hotel brands in this same class/category. I've stayed at some brand new hotels from other brands recently and can't begin to tell you how shoddy their construction was (looking at you holiday inn), but this is definitely a benchmark for hotels in this class. read more

We stayed the night before our flight to Hawaii and used the parking and airport shuttle service. We left at 5 am and the driver was right on time. On our return trip our flight arrived early so we called the hotel and the shuttle picked us up within 10 minutes.The rooms are very clean and the staff is friendly.I will always stay here during future travel. read more

The bedding, room, bath, front desk, and service was all perfect, maybe even five stars but I can't stay here again. It's just too noisy. The highway trucks are heard all night, the upstairs neighbor's steps are quite audible and you can always hear the hall doors slamming. I stay about 50 nights a year in hotels and seriously think this is one of the best Fairfields but that highway is too much for me. What a delightful stay! Our room was new, clean and modern in decor. The bathroom was fresh and clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They had security for the parking lot and we were able to park our truck and trailer safely. We also very much enjoyed the continental hot breakfast with everything you could want: bagels and waffles, eggs and sausage, cold and hot cereal, fruit and a nice variety of yogurt. This hotel is only a few months old yet the windows are super thin and don't block the noise created from the freeway located right next to the building. I highly recommend moving to a room as far away from the freeway side of the hotel if you have to stay here. The morning complimentary breakfast is mediocre. The hot food selection was hydrated eggs and thin greasy sausage. The staff dropped the ball on posting rewards points. Even after calling to hotel directly they told me submit a missing stay request from Marriott. Less than impressed with this error, service and hotel quality. read more

Gina the manager was incredible her organization and customer service made the stay perfect. I was not going to do any reviews at this hotel because I originally was due to stay at the neighboring Hampton Inn. That hotel is horrendous and so I moved next door to this Fairfield Inn and Suites. I was not going to do a review as I here for pleasure, however these guys have been wonderful that I wanted to give a good review. The hotel is modern, clean and extremely well kept up. I always believe in passing on positive feedback when it is well deserved. Check-in was seamless and easy. The rooms are reasonably priced. The decor is excellent, spacious, clean, and well designed. Suzanne Parker This, is in comparison to neighboring hotels, has all the services you require and were fully functioning, including a pool and outdoor jacuzzi. The bed was so comfortable that I missed breakfast in the morning but shall be trying that tomorrow. I hear that it is a full, hot breakfast with vegetarian options also. Was a quick 1 night stay with a late check in and early check out. Long distance road trip with my elderly Mother so just looking for a comfy bed to get some rest before hitting the road the next morning. Unfortunately during the night the bed my other was in had unwanted guests. Ants and more than a few! She did not wake me as she wanted me to get my rest (love you mom) but wish she had. She had to deal with the bite and brushing them away all night. Needless to say I was upset and frustrated that she had to deal with that. Mentioned it to the staff at check out and the she did not respond just said "okay your all checked out". Mentioned it again and she said she would have a manager contact me and apply a discount to the bill. Well that never happened and can't get through to anyone for assistance. Normally I would not complain if it were a few ants or if they were in the bathroom, but there were no less than 100 ant that were under the pillows! Very disappointed. read more

This is a solid location and facility. The fit finish is modem and clean. The room we were given is spacious and comfortable. The bedding is luxurious and as good or better than what we have at Home. The furniture is all the melamine mass produced stuff but it is functional and tidy. The dual TVs in our room was perfect for the kids and the walk in shower was a pleasant surprise. We will definitely stay here again in the future. read more

If I could give 4.5 stars, I would give them to this Fairfield Inn. It is a fairly new hotel and it is clean, modern, and the nicest Fairfield Inn that I have visited. The customer service was outstanding. The young man working at the front desk went above and beyond expectations to make sure we enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of well lit parking in front of the hotel. The bedding was great. Paul Mitchell hair and body care products were available for use. Breakfast was good and there was hot coffee and tea available throughout the day and evening. Although we could see the I-5 Freeway from our room, we could not hear it. We could hear noise from the adjoining rooms though, which is why I'm not giving this Fairfield Inn 5 stars. I would definitely stay here again though. read more

Good location, nice room and shower. The bed was so-so not as comfy as usual for me. The fact that there were ear plugs in the room should have set us up for the kind of sleep we were going to get. Very noisy with people just going into their rooms and we could literally hear the person in the next room snoring all night. Good breakfast and friendly staff. I will probably avoid staying at this brand in the future and stick with one of the other Marriott lines. read more
