They happen to be in the neighborhood and are able to service 8 people and goes what - they already have 7 booked so they can squeeze me in and for a discount! As stated in the very negative reviews listed on Yelp, that is one of the scam tactics this company uses to lure people in, letting them think that your neigbors trust this company, so your should as well. Bryce lied to us!! When I read the contract stating that there would be a cancellation fee of $250, Bryce stated that the cancellation fees would be waived if we cancelled within the first 30 days, which obviously was untrue. What a sneaky salesman!!! One the day of our services, which was supposed to be at noon, a service tech showed up at our home at 10:00 am, and no one was home. When my husband came home, the started outside, in our drive way and my dogs were going crazy inside. He spryaed the outside, then came inside. When inside he was supposed to spray along the baseboards. He did not asked my husband to move anything that was covering the baseboards nor did he move anything. He just sprayed around! Then, instead of going down in the basement to set the mouse traps, he handed them to my husband and said put them where ever you want and left. When I called Bryce, our sneaky salesman, and asked why he moved our appointment to 10:00 and did not tell us, he stated, "Well, I just thought you'd be home." WHAT?????? He then said, "I'll meet you by your back door in a couple minutes" and was walking around my backyard without even asking permission. We use their pest control and mosquito control services which have both worked well. I chose EcoShield because it offered some outdoor service I wanted at my new home. As it turns out, they don't do any routine indoor service. most annoyingly, they have outsourced their call center abroad. I made a call about an issue at my home and had to jump through many hoops to talk to the local office. After going through these hoops, I told the operator I simply wanted to cancel the service at the end of our contract to which she responded with a second list of hoops. I finally got through to the local office and did cancel the service following our required 13th bi-monthly service. This is a poor value and quality service. Your salesperson showed up at my door unannounced and pressured me into signing immediately. I said yes to 1 treatment and that I would review the product when I was not in btween meetings. I was told when I signed up that I would be granted a time to review the chemicals used with no penalty otherwise I would not have signed up. This was written into my contract. There was no time frame specified for this caveat. I called to cancel as I am not comfortable spraying poison all the time when there isn't even a sign of an issue. Now they are hounding me for a made up subscription. If I were to "stay" the length of the contract it would cost over $1000. This is absolutely unacceptable. I will not be paying a made up subscription cancellation fee or anything additional than the 1 time service I agreed to. They spray broadly and blindly without concern for any other ecosystems, such as birds that need to eat something that isn't poisoned at a cadence that poisons everything around it for way more than is necessary. They are dishonest! When they used the high pressure sales person at our door, he said we could cancel at any time. We first tried canceling after the first service and were told that we had to use the services for 12 months or we would be charged for the full month. We kept the service since we would be paying anyway. Now we've had it for 12 months and I tried canceling and they said our contract was for 24 months and we'll have to pay for the discounts we received in the first 12 months. Whether or not it is a multi-level marketing (MLM) company as is alleged in several reviews, it sure acts like one. Refuse to cancel a service which they peddled to us, preying on new homeowners by knocking on our door within days of moving in. Performed only 1/2 the offered service upon initial visit. Despite offering to perform their services inside and outsider our home, they only worked outside our home. When we asked them to return to complete the service, they made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. They also over-sold their services, assuring us they cover rodent control. After discovering a mouse, when we reached out to them, they said the monthly fee doesn't cover rodent control. Do yourself a favor: do not give this company the time of day. They will charge your credit card until you do as we've done and threaten legal action with a letter from a lawyer. There really should be 0 star reviews for companies like this. Just a total scam. Avoid them at all cost. They came door to door at about 9 PM after talking to my wife earlier the day before. I explained to them I wasn't sure, but hey, the salesman said we could always cancel after 1 service, right? We had our 1 service and they said they needed to come back a couple weeks later, but there was no extra charge. By this point, we'd already decided we'd cancel, but we'll take the free service. When we called to cancel, what they failed to tell us was that we had signed up for a subscription service with a ridiculous number of services. To get out of it, we'd need to pay the "full" first treatment cost of like $300+ or something absolutely absurd. We refused and said we'd refer them to the BBB for predatory sales practices but they didn't flinch (mostly because this is clearly their business model). After having overseas representatives continuously hound us, we finally paid the fee to have this all go away. Don't use this company. Use literally anyone else. After a few days in my new house I got a visit from them and a very nice guy told me that they were treating my house for a years now and there is a real need in pest control, as a previous owner had not only bugs but mices. He told me to pay only $169 (with $200 discount) and my house will be under their protection for a 1 year. It is not a big money for a year, so I signed a contract. I had time to carefully read the contract only one week later ... from the contract I found out that their service includes quarterly treatments, that are payable each time $169 and start next month. Also that if I cancel the service more then 3 days after the signature I have to pay their discount back. I can say nothing about their treatment, as nothing really changed after their initial treatment. But the fact that they earn many by tricking their clients is disgusting and dishonest. I have been with Ecoshield from 5/20/22 - Today 5/31/24 I tried to cancel my contract. I sent them an email - it was deleted without being opened. I called and spoke to a lady and she put me through to a different department. I then had to have a call back - same - pass to another department. She kept offering discounts - I was not interested. She stated that it is cancelled and I will receive an email within 30 min -0 that was 2 hours ago. She also said that my customer portal will show that it is cancelled.
