Basically a Japanese style pawn shop. A mish-mash collection of used "stuff" most of which looks well used and is not warranted. This place is a really depressing business. As I watched a woman came in with a baby in stroller and several bags of worn out looking clothes in bags. She was offered a few bucks for her treasures, but not as much as she hoped or needed. There are long shelves loaded with used electronics, tools and musical instruments. I wondered quietly if these items were reviewed by local police before being sold. DO NOT SELL HERE. I went into the store and let them know I have a good amount of clothing to sell and even asked if it was okay to bring in all the product. The dead-eyed employee murmured, "yes" and I proceeded to bring 7 bags worth of goods into the store. The woman that checked in my items rushed me along and asking her questions was like pulling teeth. When they called me back for my assessment they pick 3 items out of the bags, the rest remained untouched! They claimed that clothing/product was not in well enough condition. I looked in my bags just as I thought, not an item moved!! They grabbed 3 things from the top of the 7 bags and called it a day! A bit annoyed I asked an more helpful employee why they accepted only a few items. She stated it was because of covid-19 that they've been receiving more than they can sell, which would have been helpful when I first asked if it was okay to sell a large amount of clothes!! Oh and I should note that their sorry excuse for a security guard(Toy Story sheriff-badge included), hovered over me (as if I was one of the many transits running rampant store) while I was waiting for my assessment. When you call and explain if u can sell this and that they they will say yes or no about what they can take or not to take . .... Than when u get there they will not take your items.. even when they said over the phone they will take your items as described..... DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! Terrible customer service. I brought things to sell and I was told it would take 30 min but I waited in my car for 45 minutes to give them extra time. Then, I walk in and the lady saw me so she right away starts going through my things so this entire time they didn't even go through any of it! (They weren't busy at all) then an hour went by and finally she was done and wanted to give me $1.95 for a brand new punisher blu-ray disc and 7 HotWheels that were SEALED. Don't waste your time. First time here. Didn't really know what to expect but this place is a glorified Goodwill and I'm here for it. They have everything from housewares, electronics, and clothing. If you're an avid thrifter and into trendy fashion, this might be another one of those "rotation spots" you add to your thrift list & hit up every now and then. A decent collection of accessories, bags, and shoes, but some are definitely a bit pricey so I see why some of the reviews are negative. Walked out with an Escada top for only $15 so I can't be mad at that. Overall, still check it out and give it a chance because you never know what you can find! read more

I have shopped here before and the selection isn't bad at all they got some pretty cool vintage clothing and a lot of stuff on display. The employees are pretty chill for the most part especially the girl with the half dyed hair. However, my main complaint was about their trade in policy. I had a new denim jacket (tag still on it) and a sweater in good condition both from forever21. The jacket retails for $38 and the sweater $12 and they tried to pay me $4 for both of them Like miss girl??? I get that it's F21 and I know y'all are just doing your job but $4??? and I know the store would just try to resell them for an inflated price as well I also had a huge bag full of clothes and they chose like two things. I've been to this location a few times to sell designer items And never had an issue before today. I've brought in 3 Louis Vuitton purses and a Gucci duffel bag on separate occasions and sold them with no issues at all. Today I brought in an authentic Louis Vuitton purse with a few other items and they accepted the other items and not the purse so when I asked why, they didn't want to accept the purse the gentleman at the counter, said the girl said that the purse didn't look real, and that the serial number inside of the purse didn't look real to her either and that she had never seen one like that before and they pretty much flat out just said that my purse was fake even though when I purchased my purse i got it authenticated. So I'm not sure if they were racially profiling me or the girl behind the counter has no idea what she's doing. either way I will unfortunately not be coming here again. read more

Wow! This place had way more than I expected! Everything's in great to new condition. Definitely a step up from your average "second-hand" stores. Very clean environment. A huge portion of the items are still in their original box- probably just inherited from returns of big stores like Walmart and Target. read more

My boyfriend found brand new Nike Janowski shoes that retail for around $150 and he got them for $30! He also found some nice H and M items. I had trouble finding stuff, but all thrift stores are hit and miss I know. I loved how organized it was and how quality items you can find for relatively cheap. Definitely recommend this store or the Fountain Valley one. read more

Big store with lots of everything - prices are reasonable for a "re-use" store - my daughter got some LP's, my son got some small toy cars, and my wife got lots of clothes for the kids. I was there this morning when they opened the doors. I was looking for some snow pants for my grandson. I didn't find any snow pants, but I did see a lot of other stuff I plan to go back to look at I had to use the restroom really bad and the girl working at the fitting room said the bathroom was for employees only. They must've change that policy in the past week or so because they let me take my 4 year old granddaughter before. Not a big deal. Anyhow the Asian man who unlocked the doors was super welcoming & friendly & all the employees welcomed me as I walked in as well. I like that. I cannot stand when store employees don't acknowledge a customer's presence. Anyhow as I was at register paying for my item I was distracted by a young man Who was lingering at the door he had been in the store already because I had seen him shopping in there and he was outside the store and I don't know if he meant to come back in but he set the alarm off at the door and the nice man who had unlocked the doors that morning, I believe is the store manager. I'm not sure but he started talking to the young man and was trying to figure out what was setting the alarm off at least four times by this time. he wasn't very confrontational. he was pretty nice to the guy. Even after he figured out that what was setting the alarm off was the coat the guy was wearing he had put it on in the store and manage to get out the store without setting the alarm off and made a mistake of coming back in or close enough to the alarm sensors at the exit. So the man told him that it was okay as long as he stayed outside and didn't come back in but first he helped the young man out of the coat and brought it to the counter and took the alarm off and then gave it back to him and said here this is yours now just know you've been warned. And I thought that was really cool. He was only wearing a tank top underneath And it's 50° out right now. Most likely he was stealing the coat because he just didn't have the money to buy it. It was nice to see someone have empathy, compassion for someone even though he was stealing. Of course it's wrong and I don't condone theft but when someone is caught stealing food or a coat or shoes or baby formula & it's obvious that it's because they don't have any, it's a little different than when someone is stealing everything that's not nailed down that they know they can sell for drugs or because that's how they make a living. read more

There are some good and bad stuff about Eco Town: PRO's: 1. Walking through the store, you feel like a kid in a candy store. They have some really cool stuff to look at. They have everything from clothing, electronic equipment, toys, sport equipment, CD's/DVD's, music instruments, cameras, furniture, etc. 2. Employees are "mostly" Japanese who are trained to be very customer-friendly. It's a little silly when these guys are constantly screaming "thank you" or "welcome" loudly. CON's: 1. These stores are japan-owned. Not Japanese-American owned but Japan-owned. When a store is initially set up, they bring over stuff from Japan. This is why a lot of stuff seems foreign to US-buyers. You feel like you're in a comic store with all the macross, gundam and anime toys. 2. Selling stuff is a horrible experience. When you turn stuff in, they are only interested in high-end items that they can re-sell so your antique watch from your great-grandmother is probably going to be rejected. 3. They will us online prices to determine value of your item. If they are interested, they will low ball with some ridiculous offer. They depend on how desperate you are to sell your stuff. My wife brought in a Coach purse bought for $400.00. They offered her $15.00. Yeah, we did not sell it. 4. Buying stuff is not so fun either. They depend on your impulse buying. The prices are pretty steep but the stuff are in really good condition and packaged very nicely. The packaging is also a Japanese-practice by the way. read more

This was my first experience at selling my items and I have to say I was a little disappointed. Much like the other review, I walked in at 10:45 and was told 30 minutes. I walked out with my u purchased items and $50 at 12:15. I feel like it's subjective to the person doing your "assessment" as they call it. I love this place. I went on Saturday just after they began selling items and there's a great selection of merchandise (not just typical thrift store stuff). They put a lot of thought in organization, presentation, and variety (you can find audio equipment, video games, anime figures, art easels, newer appliances, etc). I wasn't looking for clothing but I found a brand new purse and a brand new Dash Mini Egg Cooker for a steal. My boyfriend bought a Japanese collectible figure and a Wiimote that sells for nearly double at GameStop. Don't let anyone leaving negative reviews as sellers dissuade you from shopping here. I appreciate that they're discerning enough to include the best stuff that they can because I'm sure the volume of items is staggering. You can't seriously expect to receive anything close to what you paid if you plan on selling, but I'm happy to do my part and recycle my gently used items so someone else can get as much out of it as I did. I highly recommend this store for purchasing things like household items, clothing, and movies. They have a great selection. What I don't recommend is that you sell your items here. They give very poor price points. I took in my Burberry Polo which was in good condition and they offered me $1. I had to laugh because I thought it was a joke. I ended up purchasing a Polaroid camera in great condition for $28! Great deal and it came with a 10 day warranty. This was my first visit to your store. I had just finished shopping at Trader Joe's and daiso next to this location on on Bristol Street. Once I came in the store I was followed by one of the employees, which I am a black male and I'm used to this kind of attention so I first paid it no mind. The gentleman continued the follow me throughout the store I came up to him and ask him if he knew where the picture frames were at so he knew I was making a purchase. She told me then continue to follow me there and everywhere else in the store so I went up to him and told him that there's no need to follow me I plan on buying everything that I'm holding he said no you look like you steal you're going to steal from us I don't like how you look. I went up to Taka and ask for a manager. He said he was the manager. Then he proceeded to say after I explained the situation that it was protocol to come up to people like me and tell me I steal. I've attached this video then being swarmed by your employees at the store and physically tried to remove me. This is unacceptable and I intend to push this issue Forward as far as possible. This is overall one of the best thrift stores to go to in the area. It's always super clean and they have a really good selection of items. They have a lot of clothes and their clearance sections tends to be pretty decent. I will say that the mens selection is slightly small but still a lot better then most other local thrift stores. They also have a really good selection of designer clothing if thats your thing. Also a huge selection of instruments which kind of surprised me. I've found a lot of cool things here. Theres not a whole lot of vintage items but you can find them if you look enough. Also you can sell your stuff here and they will give you cash instead of store credit like most places do. read more

I would've left zero stars but it didn't give me the option. I came in with my BRAND NEW AIR DIOR jacket still with tags attached and everything . This was one of the few times the jacket had seen daylight. I brought my jacket in to see what price I could get for it . It was examined by 2 employees and I was given an embarrassingly low offer so I respectfully decline. I go home to see that my inside button is broken off ( mind you i haven't even gotten to open the inside button myself since this item is BRAND NEW and was in the closet for about 2 years since it's release) I call this store to let them know that after their examination I noticed a button broken off. All they gave me was an apology and told me that I'm out of luck if I don't speak Japanese because of their headquarters location. I explained that this was a VERY expensive mistake and I wanted a solution. ECO TOWN told me They could give me a 1-200 dollar discount on Any item . So when I repeated the offer to the employee I said " so I can get $200 off of any item in here ?" He then replied with " no I didn't say that" and tried to switch the offer , THIS PLACE IS UNPROFESSIONAL. all they told me was that they would take care of my items if I ever come with anything else. This is one of the lesser organized thrift stores ive been to. Went to try and find my daughter a new guitar, I asked the manager if he could help me, i think his name was Maka or Naka, he looked at me like a deer caught in the headlights of an on coming semi truck. I kind of just stared at him "hello? anyone there?" he then proceeded to yell at an employee to come help me, even though the employee stated she was helping someone else, he demanded. she came over to me and he ROLLED HIS EYES at her. horrible management, he was mean and rude to me and the other employees, he needs to be re-trained. only giving 2 stars because the girl that helped me was SUUUPPPEERRR helpful and I was able to get a guitar for my daughter. read more

If you have a service dog with you DO NOT shop here. I was standing looking to buy a Nintendo switch when a "corporate" guy approached me and yelled at telling me I can't bring dogs inside I told him he was a service dog and was going to show him my dog's ID and he told me he didn't care that I needed to leave. I tried reporting the incident to the front (without knowing he was "corporate") and the guy told me he can't do anything about it because he's corporate and was here from China..... Management is extremely unprofessional and rude when negotiating/in general, I've been multiple times with no good experiences. They should be sent back to training in my opinion, also they buy for cheap (1-5 dollars) then sell for double or triple the price! You're getting ripped off, they have no idea how to buy and price stuff. I've seen my stuff bought for cents being sold triple the original price, its absolutely a scam...ridiculous.
