I've been to their location in lake Forest, but I happened to stumble upon this location as I drove down harbor. This location is much bigger and a little less cluttered than the South county location. I will say that some of their items are priced a bit high and even higher than retail (e.g. name brand sneakers, name brand tops), but it does go to support a good cause. Their standard price goes between $4-6 for tops, skirts, dresses, but any known brands or nice/new with tag items are priced higher (e.g. Lululemon, athleta, Uniqlo), averaging between $14-$28. I appreciate that they had fitting rooms and it felt like an actual boutique clothing store. After browsing through the entire store, I found a couple of cute quality athletic pieces (Athletic and Gap), but you have to filter through a lot of the junk brands to find the good pieces. Overall, still a decent spot to thrift.

    necklaces they sell

i'm a broke wannabe artist and this place is so healing for me. they sell craft supplies for so cheap and beautiful clothes reasonably priced. it has a tasteful edge that makes you feel like you're allowed to be you're flawed self. every time i come in i'm inspired. it's the perfect store for broken down people who find peace in fashion, art, and authenticity.

This afternoon I was on the search for a new dresser, and she was sassy and rude from the beginning. In our initial conversations when I was explaining to her I am trying to replace my existing dresser, she interrupted me mid sentence to say "well I don't KNOW what you have now" like girl... I'm literally explaining because YOU ASKED. I was still nice to her and afterwards my friend even asked me why I was so nice to her when she acted that way towards me. Now to the bad part... I found a dresser I was strongly considering to purchase and filming an in depth video to send my husband for confirmation, when Valerie comes up behind me saying something like "I need to get by you" (not excuse me or something neutral or going another way??) and TAPPED MY BUTT!!!!! She interrupted my video, she not only invaded my personal space but touched me inappropriately, and she had a bad attitude from the start. For context, I was bending slightly over while wearing a mid thigh length dress to show the specs of the dresser which made the interaction all the more inappropriate... I genuinely can't believe this happened and I hate to sound dramatic but this has unfortunately turned a good day sour. I did really like the dresser but was in shock after this interaction and left shortly after.

There are many vintage shops on Fourth Street, which makes me so grateful and happy. In the 1980s, we would need to drive up to Melrose Avenue in Hollywood to get this kind of quality vintage apparel and curios. Of course it was an adventure to get all the way up there into deep LA, find parking and browse through the goodness of vintage clothing - the styles, the colors, the textures, the worn in qualities which no current items can produce. Now we have the same opportunity in good old Long Beach. Starday Vintage Too serves as a sweet option for those curious about vintage, about old-fashioned style, and how to reinvent it today. Yesterday I cruised in to the shop, drawn in by the window display, which is ever changing, and always super -stylish. Their usage of mannequins is both haunting and delightful. It feels as though full stories are being lived out through their mannequins and the way they have styled them. The window display says so much about how the female owner (red haired and creative, Nicole) runs her shop: dynamic, thoughtful, retro-centric, and committed to the process of artistically offering vintage goods, highly curated, at fair prices. I just love to see their latest window designs, cruise around inside, chat with the friendly staff, and check out everything from studded belts to zipper boots, wigs to leopard print overcoats... just so amazing. To me, this shop sets the pace for the rest of retro row. It's the corner of 4th and Cherry, high traffic, highly visible and fantastic. Buying the goods isn't the point. Sniffing around, appreciating the items, their history, the store layout, and the entire in-store experience... Treat yourself to a visit. Good times!!
