This store and all the dudes working here saved my wedding outfit! I am a cyclist so i was unable to get rid of my forehead helmet tan before my wedding. I decided i should wear a nice hat with my suit. I went TWO DAYS before my wedding to try to find a hat. After trying some on and being unsure of what to get, the guys here helped me decide on a color and explain to me the different styles that are PROPER with certain suits and occasions. This store is a dream come true. Yeah, I'm not a guy, but I do have a husband, and he and I pop in here every time we're in Orange. We're from Portland, and while some have called it a "Vintage Mecca" due to our large amount of vintage stores, we really have nothing like Joyride. At Joyride you'll find everything to make a man dapper from sun up to sun down. There is a wonderful selection of casual daywear, great jackets, hats from fedoras to boaters, suits from the 30s through the 60s and ties to go with all of 'em. The items are in pristine condition too! There's often more we want to take home than we're capable of! The owner is a wealth of knowledge, and extremely nice too. I always love finding these stores that have a collection of unique, eclectic 'stuff' that guys dig. This place had some really rare clothing items that I haven't seen in years. Their military clothing was pretty cool with a couple of items that just aren't seen in the market anymore. The hat selection rocked as well and it looks as though they will fit hats for people too. Class, functional class for Men. This is what you find at Joyride: Vintage for Men. It may say vintage, but do not confuse the establishment with any of the antique shops near the Chapman Circle were it is located. What you have here is an actual stylish clothing store where you can deck yourself to the nines with garments and accessories that just happen to be from bygone eras. Hats, shirts, pants, vests, spats, jackets, canes, watches, cigar and cigaret accessories from the turn of the century through epic eras like the 1920s, 40's, 50's, including some samples from the "far out" decades. The choices are no only limited to civilians. Military fashion and gear is also present, from different countries and Military events (from a full WWI/WWII French officer uniform, to US Army Eisenhower jackets and US Navy's pea coats). Vest yourself with 1920s straw boaters, top hats or a homburg hat, fedoras from the 50's, with matching accessories such as cuff-links, ties, cravats, wallets, cigarette holders, and flint lighters like Zippos. Want to feel the actual grooming experience fro, this golden time?S. Actual items such as straight razors, shaving kits, cologne bottles (mostly depleted, but refillable with your favorite brand), are available in store. The word here is, again, functional with almost everything in this store. The also have a tailor in retainer, and they offer some minor repair services for such items as hats, in situ. Other offerings go from the normal fare to the odd (the medical instrument sections from the early part of the 20th century was quite... interesting). There is olden boys toys, Military gear such as German Wehrmacht helmets (both WWI and WWII), gas masks, hat holding boxes, suitcases, jewelry, and miscellaneous knick knacks of ever sort. The place may be small, but it feels open and welcome, a short stone throw from a wide range of local restaurants and diners (don't feel like driving?, Metrolink Orange Station will deposit you two streets from it). The prices go from fair to some in the "hmm, but worth it" range, and the staff is beyond outstandingly polite and helpful. Caveats: Ah, here's the rub. But luckily, minor ones: Parking in Chapman Circle (dare I say more?. Look for the parking lot behind Wahoo's Fish Taco, one street down towards the Train Station), and, it's Men only,... but, luckily, there is a shop called Elsewhere Vintage catering to Female costumers a few feet going towards the circle (sorry, I'm a lad, so I cannot provide information about this establishment). Shoes, I bloody forgot to inquire about them, so I can't review these items, nor I can vouch that they carry them. In short, one of the most spectacular small gem finds in a while. Talk about Amazing! I took my son by Joyride for his birthday. He wanted a few vintage items to put together a Homecoming outfit. We were not disappointed. The gentleman at this store are great! Two of them helped go through and find the perfect pieces. And talk about some classy gear at a great price. We've been shopping around for sometime and I'm so glad we stumbled onto this gem. We got him completely outfitted and looking like he stepped out of a 1950's dream.(Hat, Slacks, Shirt, Suspenders, and a hand painted tie). This is definitely one of our new favorite spots for clothing. I absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a vintage or unusual pieces for any occasion. They not only have racks and racks of period clothing but also a huge mesh of super interesting items. Went in to buy for him. Had to buy a few things for myself. (You'll understand once you go.) When I think of vintage shops at the Orange Circle, dark and gloomy comes to mind. But not at this little joint. The first thing I noticed was how bright and neat everything was. Second thing that came to mind was everything in the shop reminded me of my fashion savvy grandfather. Everything from the tailored jackets to the intricately designed leather shoes to the vintage cameras gave this store a whole lot of character. Worst customer service ever! I dropped one of my husband's hats off because it needed a new sweatband inside. They offer services to repair hats. They told me when I dropped it off on August 31st it would take "a couple of weeks." When I went back on September 26th to ask if it was done, one of the employees had to mansplain to me that they always let people know it will be 3 weeks and it hadn't been 4 weeks yet since I dropped it off. But they still needed "a couple more weeks." When I called on October 19th to see if it was done, they finally admitted that they hadn't even started it. So I went to go get my husband's hat back. Both employees were standing/sitting not doing anything when I walked in. One of them had the audacity to tell me that "things take time." Yes, but unfortunately getting stuff done also requires you to actually GET STARTED! Don't waste your time with this store or any of the services they claim they provide! read more

We wandered in here one Saturday on our rounds of the Circle. I've always been curious to see what's inside because the shop keepers are decked out in slim-fit vests, bowler hats and waxed facial hair. We found a great vintage Gauyabera shirt that fit my husband perfectly! As my husband was mulling over whether he should buy it or not, he saw a Nazi armband in a display case... We hightailed it right out of there! If I weren't scared of persecution, I would have said something to the man working there! This place sells Nazi memorabilia! Is that even legal?
