This was a terrible place. The young girl on the second floor had a nasty attitude. Stephanae wasn't much better. All they care about is getting you to come in there. They don't tell you all the stuff you have to go through over the phone and then they try to make you feel like you're not smart or something because they have some stupid test you have to pass. luckily liberty University is 10 times better!!! ECPI's staff was very unprofessional and kept saying that there's all new staff there so nobody could tell me nothing about financial aid like, how is this place even open? Nobody even spoke to me. I passed at least four people not one person spoke. It could've been a murderer or something roaming around. Nobody asked any questions. There was no security. I enrolled in ECPI in the RN Program in Newport News, VA. This experience was not good. My first term I felt like they put me in a position to fail. First I went to talk with Stephanie and took my Teas. Once I passed my Teas I was told that classes start Tuesday. I changed my whole life schedule. I get to school and I do not have access to my courses or assignments. It took them a few days. So I am starting off behind and did not get to study for my exam. Then our A&P Lecture teacher did not teach; she read off of PowerPoint slides and had an attitude, Professor Lawrence. I requested extra hands-on assistance but did not receive any help. I spent my term talking to the Administration. Most of the time, the Administration blamed you (the student for their shortcomings). I spoke with the President Connie, Lena Jackson, and Kim Richardson. Mrs. Jackson did sit in to one of our classes and little did we know our Professor and now teach. Professor Lawrence did do much better at the end of the term. Kyle was amazing and was trying his best to do what he could. I had some other opportunities to explore but before I did I wanted to talk with the President Connie and Lena Jackson again. Connie lied in my face and told me she did not know I did not have access to my courses. She also apologized and proceeded to tell me that its nothing that she can do, she gave me a lecture about not giving up and pushed me back to Mrs. Jackson. No accountability. I waited for Mrs. Jackson but she was in a long meeting so I was told to email her and that would be faster, still today no response. Through this process it shows that Administration do not care about their students. The school is too expensive not to care, $52,000 program. I was paying out of pocket. Yesterday I made a decision to join another RN program. I refuse to give an organization my money and time who do not care or appreciate it. No integrity, morals, were given to me. They will do anything for money including setting their students up for failure. Its so much more. But I hope this review helps someone make the best decision for their education. read more

I feel this institution is pretty poor in their professionalism. They were really dismissive and disobliging in my in processing and testing using terms like "if you pass" and my councilor going on leave without notifying me or leaving a 2ndary resource. they lost my transcripts over 3 times costing me $40 in transcript fees. They lost my medical drop papers when I had long term covid- I caught at a clinical experience as numerous people caught covid in this time frame- so when I actually failed a class it looked on paper like I failed 3 classes. I was put on probation due to this and had to appeal this finding to be determined unfit- Next month I graduated with my BS of Psych with a 3.2 gpa and started my MS of Psy and currently have a 4.0 GPA I am autistic and I had a professor email me telling me I was odd in class- unprofessional. Same teacher latter stated I need to be medicated to be in class- unprofessional. Also they have professors that are known or failing entire classes and teach multiple classes at the same time so multiple classes are discussed during the time dedicated to another class. This school will take your money and bleed you dry. If you are sick , they barely work with you. The dental and nursing programs practice with expired stuff and work around broken machines. All of us students pay hefty amounts to ecpi, and they can't even renew the little things. The academic advisor in the dental program is money hungry . they "genuinely" care about you, only for your money. I have had classmates talk about how they now have an extra term and they were told at the last minute. This is an evil school. they will drop you if you are sick for to long. They also DO NOT TRANSER CLASSES. THEY TOLD US THEY WOULD AND THEN CHANGED THEIR WORD. BE CAREFUL !!! read more

Dental Assistant Program . I attended for the dental program 2017-2018 and I have nothing but great things to say about it. The instructors were amazing, some of the nicest people I have ever met! They were always so helpful and made coming to class a joy! I cannot speak for the other programs but if you are interested in Dental Assisting it's a great one. read more

I would like to take a minute and talk to you about this college. I intended to be a part of the nursing program here. I knew initially that they had recently gone through G.I. Bill issues concerning fraud and that there might be some issues with their nursing program. I very much want to be a nurse. And this was one of the only night programs available. So I signed up for two classes and began. Right off the bat I had a very uneasy feeling as they tried to guide me towards which G.I. Bill they wanted me to use based on how much money they could get. (I am still under MGIB). Second when I asked them about their accreditation issues no one in the nursing office knew that they had any issues. As it turns out I found out that the board actually took action noting that any student should be notified of the condition in which this program is in . Obviously myself and classmates preparing to enter the nursing program were never notified of any issues concerning board action . At the beginning of the first two classes I had not yet heard back from the Virginia Board of nursing. By December 9, 2016 I had heard back and it confirms that the program was not fully accredited due to a low passing rate within the school. I do not intend to stay in Virginia long-term and be a nurse and so for me this is extremely concerning. At that time I decided to drop before the first two classes were even over and spoke with the director indicating that I was not going to continue in the classes. I also forwarded the email from the board of nursing to Michelle Burgess in the office for medical careers institute. I finally received a billing March 16, 2017 to pay for the classes the two that I took. However this college charged me for four even though I had dropped before the next two even started. I have called Tina in financially aid multiple times receiving no response and have emailed and called Michelle with the same results. I obviously do not recommend this college for nursing mainly because they are not fully accredited and secondly because they seem to have a problem with financial issues not only for veterans using the G.I. Bill but also closing out records for students who decide to withdraw. I wish everyone the best in their further educational opportunities and desires. Inside the school is a cafe, which is a hidden gem in Newport News. The talent and food that comes from this cafe shouldn't be a gift only for Students. Wraps, salads, soups, and sub's; great prices for unbelievable flavor. Manager is top of the line and continues education with culinary students. Initially, I thought this was a good school because I hadn't seen any bad reviews. I decided to start the Nursing program and was assured they would not be changing any of the program while I was in attendance. 3 weeks into the program my class finds out from our teacher none of the classes we took would count because they had decided to change the program. The director denied the allegations and refused to explain anything to us. At the end of the term we find out that the director Mrs. Martinez lied to us and none of the classes counted. We were then told they would refund all the money they withdrew from my GI Bill( around $3,000). The 5th term my class got a teacher Mrs.Issac she started out a good teacher but we started noticing she would let certain girls in the class cheat and attend class when they wanted. So, we reported her which later the director (Martinez) did nothing about! We then got Issac again towards the end of our nursing classes. She again started letting the girls cheat on test openly, they came and went as they wanted, and she would even drive them to clinical with her. The rest of the class started complaining, and instead of the director and president solving it they came in and decided to accuse those who spoke up of cheating the whole program. Some did cheat as well as the ones they were defending. They decided to suspend me for not reporting cheating (which as I informed in the beginning that I did report). They also refused to give me any paper work to back up allocations they made on me or paperwork stating information based on my suspension. May 7,2019 I went to the school to get my transcripts and find out they're accusing me of owing $3,000 for finical aid. How? When I used my GI Bill. Also, I found out they never paid the VA back the money they took from my GI Bill. Which is the $3,000 they're trying to make me pay back.
