Very suspect. I'm completely on the fence in terms of liking these guys or not. I had my hair cut before, of which they did an outstanding job (thank you to the barber that had the booth in the back room on the left. However, the Friday before Father's Day 2024 completely changed my opinion. I brought my 8-year old son in for a haircut ($32) just after 5 PM, and received questionable treatment. While I was aware that this shop runs exclusively on appointment, I was hoping that someone would be available for a very basic kid's haircut before departing out of town. The barber directly behind the cashier/check-in area presumed to be Ed (light brown African-American male, 35ish in age) noted the appointment situation, and even showed me on my phone in using the scan option to bring up the website for bookings. Ed then asked the barber to the immediate right of the cash register (darker male named Billy) if he was available, to which he immediately scoffed and said "I'm done" while sitting in his barber chair scrolling through social media. After leaving, my son asked me what Billy's problem was, to which I stated that I didn't know. While I appreciated Ed's professionalism and politeness at the time, the fact that Billy would show such disregard in front of me & my child in refusing to cut his hair when he was clearly available without an appointment said everything that I needed to know. As it was, I drove down to Great Clips in Heritage Trace, set an online appointment, and was seated in less than 5 minutes. Overall, Ed's is definitely a lively place that has a following, demonstrates high energy, and delivers on quality haircuts at a price ($30 and up). While I greatly appreciate the professionalism and respect of the owner, I cannot say the same for another barber (Billy) that displays disrespect & contempt to a repeat customer with his child, especially when it comes to a simple haircut for a child. Billy was so bad with his unprofessionalism & attitude that he conveyed that even an 8-year old noticed. Just disgraceful. read more

These guys are actually barbers and know what they are doing! My go-to guy is Alfredo. Although he doesn't speak much English, he is a great barber. The vibe in the shop is chill and casual and they have some good music playing. Please understand that this isn't a great clips, so you won't be in and out in 15 min. I was in the chair for about 45 min and I didn't mind because I got a solid and detailed haircut. They don't have a walk in system so who ever gets picked gets the hair cut first no matter if they just got there or have been waiting. Absolutely excellent hair cut. This is a true barber shop where they take care of you. I walked in with minimal wait time, and Armando was available for my cut. He took his time and clearly gave me the hard part I wanted. During the cut, he would find small discrepancies that weren't perfect, and corrected them. The best part is they use an actual razor to edge and from your neck line (as well as a hard part). This is traditional for a barber and not a cosmetologist. The products they use actually smell REALLY good, and aren't over the top. Armando used compressed air and a very soft brush to ensure I had no cut hair left behind. The shop itself is well laid out and has plenty of seating. Staff is professional and courteous; I saw a gentleman getting his cut with his infant son on his lap which tells me this place is family oriented. I definitely will be back and highly recommend this barber shop; it's hard to find a traditional TRUE barber that can get the job done right. I just moved into a Haltom City from a small town Boyd and I try to go to this barber shop to trying to find a place where I can get a haircut every two weeks and I just walked in to see if I can get a haircut. One of their employees was so rude and said this is America I said I was born here because I was trying to explain what kind of haircut I wanted so he just laughs at me and says he would like it to go somewhere else. Ed and Guy's had been my go-to barber for a little over a year now. If you are looking for a haircut that is done right, with meticulous precision, friendly barbers (especially if you are Spanish speaking), and a clean environment, this is the place to come. They take appointments and walk-ins. If you plan on walking in or first time, I would suggest coming early (especially on a Saturday). The later in the day, you can have a significant wait ahead of you. But even with a longer wait, it is WELL worth it. In addition to barber services, they also sell Suavecito, American Crew, and Nioxin hair products. Look at the pictures they have posted on the profile as they also do designs and will work with you to create the best hair cut and design for you. Update (8/2018) Ed and Guy's has been my "go-to" place when I KNOW I need my hair cut or styled correctly and is done with meticulous care. I have yet to leave with a cut and beard trim that was anything less than mathematically precise and clean. These barbers here are top-notch, first class in their craft. Both their previous location and new location are clean and well-decorated. Imagine a upscale "salon" in downtown Fort Worth or Dallas or Frisco etc but turn it in to a barber shop, good music playing, excellent hair products you can purchase afterwards. If you have never been to a barber and used to going to the chain hair places, give Ed and Guys and call and speak to one of the barbers about getting an appointment - or just walk-in (but you will wait since they are pretty busy most of the time). They speak English and Spanish fluently and will be happy to talk with you about whatever. And lastly - prices are not like those salons that will charge you an arm and a leg. I had an appt with Sarai for a hair treatment for tuesday@930, she then messages me Monday asking to change It to 1130, which I accept. I show up and she's not there she has me waiting for 10-15 min. Then she still overbooks and has her boyfriend trying to wash my hair while she goes and cuts someone's hair and the boyfriend washes my hair HOT water and leaves shampoo all in my hair, has water running down my neck, and shirt, then she tells him to dry my hair. At this point, I finally had enough and had to walk out. Never have I ever experienced anything like this. Worst customer service ever. I would never recommend this girl to anyone, she's a fcking joke! read more

When I make an appointment anywhere and arrive early, I expect similar consideration. I wouldn't mind waiting 15-minutes, but an hour is pretty ridiculous and defeats the purpose of an appointment. This was my second visit to this "barber shop". First visit was okay. The second was a complete disaster. Jorge didn't listen to anything I wanted and completely butchered my hair. Paid $32, plus $6 tip. Almost $40 for one of the worst haircuts I've ever had. Jorge's quote, "I wanted to change your mind about how you cut your hair". I'm 38 - I know how I like my hair. It's his first year cutting hair and he shaved the back of my head off....he didn't say anything to me but rather spoke in Spanish to the others asking for help. I speak Spanish because I lived in Peru for a year and I understood everything they said. At the end I asked him how much and he charged $50. My fiance has thick, curly hair and is EXTREMELY picky about his cuts. He's been shopping around for the right barber since he moved to Texas two years ago. This spot and his barber, Armando, went far above his expectations. His cut was so clean, and the way Armando trimmed up his beard and mustache had him looking TOO good. Armando also included a brow wax which really completed his entire look, and he came away feeling very satisfied with the whole service. It's not often he likes to take pics of himself, but that day, and the next, he posed with me for several pictures and was complimented on his look while we were out, over and over. I see two other customers were super happy with their haircut , that's why my kids and husband decided to go your direction but every time we were at Ed and guys Barber Shop, they had a four hour wait, crazy. So we decided to make a appointment and well and a hour later still no haircut. How crazy is this? I understand if you were 5 to 10 minutes late and you guys notify us and let us know that you guys are going to be just a little longer but nothing. Yes he only thing great about this location is that you guys are next to Starbucks. Best haircuts! My 5 year old son is blind and autistic and doesn't keep his head still. Plus he has super fine hair. He has never had a good hair cut until we walked into this place. And we've even tried all the places that specialize in kids. We've been there 3 times now and Ed has cut it twice and once another barber did it. All 3 times it has been fantastic.
