First time here. Beautiful stadium. Really really nice with 7700 person capacity per employee. Beautiful murals ( spring training logos, logo flags), statue great for photo ops * decent food choices- I had a yummy turkey burger and the fries were the BEST I've had at any park, and most restaurants . And sandwiches and a cafe with wraps, etc. *friendly staff *good team store- packed with great spring training and regular merch... but very tight on space which made it difficult to navigate with many fans *clean bathrooms with several stalls *great scoreboard CONS: *NO military discount ( discontinued 2 years ago per store employee) AND final sale only , so I had to try on shirts over my jersey ( still difficult)...cone on, other parks don't do this * no souvenir helmets for dippin dots, no ice cream with helmets...only souvenir soda cups Apparently there are no minor league teams here because there are too many other teams within an hour radius ( I say let the Yankees move to Cactus League!!!) read more

BLUF: Character, cleanliness, happy people and good concessions makes this stadium a great place for Grapefruit League spring training baseball. To date I have been to five of the Grapefruit League stadiums and Ed Smith is absolutely my favorite. Sure, I am an O's fan and biased but even so, it's a great stadium. I love the character of the Spanish-Colonial architecture, the breezy concourse, abundant trees, big bathrooms, overall cleanliness and throw backs to Camden Yards. Camden green is abound and I like that this feels like the Orioles spring training home and not just some generic stadium. Also, people here are just happy and friendly. Both the concessions and team store are great. The team store is large and has lots of O's gear. I wish that they had more Spring Training-specific stuff. Back in the day I got some nice gear that was thoughtfully designed to incorporate elements of Florida, the Grapefruit League and the Orioles. On my most recent visit most of the gear I found was classic Orioles gear with the words "Spring Training" added to it. Snooze. There are various concession lines throughout the stadium so lines are never too long. On my recent visit I stuck to classic baseball game fare like hot dogs, soft pretzels and beer. Most concessions have the same stuff but there is one that offers healthy options and one place that is dedicated to craft beer. Also, if you're into chicken, there is a Chick-fil-A onsite. There are a few official lots for the stadium that offer parking around $20 although we paid a local business to pay in their lot for $20 which was equally as convenient. The surrounding streets close before the game and the area can get a little trafficky so if you want to be there for first pitch be sure to give yourself to find parking and your seat. read more

Fun day watching the Orioles play during Spring Training. Parking is fairly easy and affordable ($12-$15). Entrance is easy to go through with police presence. Seats are a bit too tight and too close to each other leaving little leg room. It is not as lively or kid friendly. Other stadiums have lots of fun activities for families, which is what they lack. Food is located mostly on first level with some on the 2nd level and outfield seating. Bathrooms are clean and staff are friendly. read more

Ed Smith is a nice venue to catch some pre season games. Parking isn't too bad, much of it is on the grass across the street. Be careful - the attendants will guide you in packed as sardines, so if you wanted or needed to get out early, you are stuck. The views are good from any seat. The food choices are good - something for everyone. Maybe I'm being a grumpy old man, but pricing is pretty high for this little place. But, still worth a once a year trip out there. read more

Organization could not care less about the neighborhood or residents of said neighborhood. Baltimore went home 3 months ago. Your staff is blasting music at least 3-4 times a month over the PA for hours on end during weekdays. I work from home & have calls to take. The entire neighborhood doesn't need to hear your speakers in the middle of July for no reason for hours on end. Next step is a formal complaint to the city. read more

Spring training with the Orioles! All the staff were incredibly friendly and nice! What a great experience in a smaller stadium with great views and palm trees in the background. A decent amount of food options and treats - your usual hot dogs, burgers, chicken tenders, fries, subs, pretzels, popcorn, cotton candy, Dippin dots, etc. If you want to get autographs, it's best to go early and hope that the players are still out there for batting practice because midway, lots of the good players start leaving and the minor leaguers sub in. I did get quite a few autographs including one of my all-time favs Adam Jones! On the last day of Spring Training, they had fireworks and Jordan Westburg was signing for everyone the whole time. The stadium has easy access for parking- all paid at $12-$20 in the surrounding area - and a short walk to the main gate. The Lions Club does burgers and the concessions offer hot dogs, fries and the usual assortment of stadium fare. Beer is plentiful. Cup holders on the seat backs are great and restrooms are clean. We *loved* our first time at the Stadium! We had just remembered there was a ball team in Sarasota (although we'd bought tickets pre-Covid (which were cancelled) and thought it would be fun to try going again. WE'LL BE BACK for sure!! I'm not much of a sports fan at all, but baseball is my preferred game to watch. I had NO IDEA this was a "real" team (vs the Farm Team games we've gone to before). My favorite part of any sports game is the National Anthem and the flyover! At THIS game we had the MOST AMAZING group: The FOUR TOPS!! I do wish during the game and especially during the 7th Inning Stretch some of their hits had been played. LOVED when they ad-libbed "ain't no country like the one we got" right before "brave" at the end of the National Anthem! Class act all around - with the entire stadium: fans AND players showing respect to our flag! I had wished for the sales dudes ("Hot dogs, peanuts, ice cold beer"), but at the same time valued that lack of distraction. I'm not a fan of the usual "tired" music ("Charge!" - clap-clap-clap-clap-ad nauseam). It was difficult for me to see the scoreboard - perhaps digital lights would be more visible. Easy access to parking. Quick & efficient entry. CLEAN STADIUM! Great pre-game communications (who knew there was a "Ballpark" app and I could show our parking reservation and tickets from my phone?! Very helpful facilitators throughout the stadium to give direction and answer questions, and we felt very safe. read more

Wow, what a beautiful ballpark! Went here today for an Orioles/Tigers spring training game and had a wonderful time. It's so clean with tall corridors and ceilings behind the stands and nice green signs everywhere indicating what's what, very classy. Parking in the field near the side entrance was only $12. They open the doors one hour before the game starts. Staff were very friendly. Masks were mandatory everywhere; even while watching game. They had a few bars/counters selling ice cold beer so we went with that. They also have a Chick-Fil-A stand selling their chicken sandwiches, Salads, and other items; super cool! The ballpark has many empty seats due to the pandemic. Every other row was not available. The game went by quickly, and the announcers were great. Staff in the park were very good at keeping things orderly and respectful. read more

This is a great place to take in a Spring Training game! It is comfortable and some of the food choices are outstanding!

The ushers here are MASK police. Some more than others. Came here to have a good time, by choice! The mask patrol in our section (207) Older woman with long blonde ponytail) made everyone MISERABLE! She wanted your mask up between bites and sips). So she's okay with us getting overheated I guess. Believe me, this review was the consensus of everyone around us. She told the guy next to us to put his mask on - he was eating popcorn. She leaned over to look in his popcorn bag to make sure he had popcorn in it (getting closer than 6 feet!!) Someone needs to tell these people that we are not in Baltimore!!! The mask gives 0.5% protection - most people here are vaccinated - and EVERYONE here is here by choice to have an enjoyable day. We know what risks we face!!! You can die in many other ways! Maybe they should stop selling popcorn too because people can choke on it. The seats are already sectioned off, only every other sink or toilet is open - it's like March 2020 all over again. VERY DISAPPOINTED in this experience. If you are that afraid of Covid, stay home!! I'm sure they won't be changing their ways at this stadium sadly, so don't come here to support the Orioles unless you're okay getting overheated and treated like you're living in a socialist country. Went to the Orioles Pirates Spring Training game. Was excited to return to the ballpark and see live baseball. Was very disappointed in the staff and how they handled the mask policy. I wore my mask the entire game in my seat and kept it on while using the bathroom or grabbing a beer. One of the usher's proceeded to scream at me from the loge suite section and tell me I was getting out of my seat too many times. Mind you I was wearing my mask and there was no rule prohibiting me from leaving my paid seat. When she continued hounding me, I asked her "what is the problem??" To which she responded it's tough enforcing the mask policy at games. And told me not to yell at her! Not even taking into account there were half a dozen fans near me who weren't in the correct pods, or even wearing the mask properly or at all. I understand the need for proper health procedures but being rude to paying customers for no reason is not a good look. Won't be returning anytime soon. read more

Although the previous 15 years has been challenging for the Baltimore Orioles organization, this beautiful spring training stadium is one of few choices I agree with! They could rename it Camden Yards South because of that Baltimore feel to it. Getting autographs here is much easier because of the ability of the players to engage with fans. The inside of the stadium is immaculate with not a bad seat in the house! We sat on the first base side and we could still here every ball and strike called. FL is open but not at this stadium. Covid measures are abundant so if you're nervous to venture out then venture here. I won't be back until the rules are relaxed though. It's definitely overkill! Can't stand in the shade for more than 10 minutes until someone moves you along. I was literally burning but zero grace. They only take credit cards for purchases but they will take cash for tips. The mask police is out in full force. Even in your seat which is seriously separated from everyone else. Our seats were in the front row which should be awesome but the black fencing was literally on top of us. Not a great experience but always fun to see our team play. read more

Beer was high though with domestics at eight bucks. We sat behind home plate for under thirty dollars a seat. Try that during the regular season. Purchased tickets on line and picked them up at 'will call'. Very easy. Parking no problem. Near the stadium was twenty dollars. We found a place across the street from the stadium parking lot for ten. You'll need a big hat and sunscreen for day games, so sit along the first base line or behind home plate if you want shade. read more

This by far might be my favorite ballpark to come visit and it only took one visit. I loved the atmosphere and sitelines Ed Smith Stadium had to offer. From all the banners of the orioles glory years and championship flags they had hanging around the stadium. Everything is clean and cozy. This stadium has wonderful seating that makes you feel part of the action. After each half inning they have lovely entertainment for the fans. Saw Sunday afternoon Orioles game vs Mets in perfect weather. Lucked out with easy, $10 parking from attendant Barb (love her!). The design of the stadium is great. I sat in a $25 seat in the Left Field Pavilion under the shade of a king palm, just a few feet away from concessions and $8 cold beer. The staff at the stadium are a pleasure. read more

2017 marks my first visit to this Spring Training stadium. It's quite nice! The outside has a neat vintage look to it and rather than having a true outfield/lawn area they have chairs and picnic tables with umbrellas and its own bar. While we were there we chatted with lots of friendly fans and enjoyed the murals painted inside. The craft beer selection is ok here, not fantastic, but pretty good. They have Dippin Dots, so that's a HUGE plus for me. The highlight of my experience was probably the human-sized Oriole bobble-head. An added bonus is this stadium is near some great restaurants and breweries in Sarasota. read more

I walked in as a Red Sox fan with a chance at purchasing season tickets and walked away an Orioles fan. It is a small stadium and may not have all the bells and whistles of some of the other parks but what it does it does best! Being a little smaller of a park helps to bring the fans that much closer to the action! This stadium has improved so much since the Orioles have come to town. It's a perfect stadium to catch a spring training game. They have even added new items to their menu including crab cake sandwiches, and a polish sausage with a red sauce (they call it Johnny sauce). If you want decent food outside the stadium check out the 12th ST Cafe which is right across the street. It's a good place to stop in before or after a game and they have all the Baltimore decor throughout. Also if you are looking for a shaded area try to sit higher than the tenth row in the grandstand, anything lower is pretty much unprotected from the sun. read more

As far as spring training ballparks go, Ed Smith Stadium is pretty darn good. I've been going there pretty much since it was built back when the Chicago White Sox called it their spring training home. Before this year, the last time I was there was four years ago when the Cincinnati Reds played there. At the time the ballpark was average and the ushers and staff were bordering on rude when it came to people trying to get autographs before the game. Revisiting Ed Smith this year and seeing the $40 million or so that has been put into the park I was amazed at the transformation. It truly is a completely different park. The concourse is nice and wide and mostly in the shade, which is great for Florida day baseball. The huge team store and air conditioned cafe are excellent additions to the park. The food is top notch, my wife loved the crab cake sandwich and I had both a Reuben and a turkey sub that were both really good. The amazing thing to me is that even with all of the physical improvements that were made to the park the most striking thing to me was the attitude of the staff at the ballpark. They were amazing! Totally night and day from when the Reds inhabited the park. Obviously the Baltimore Orioles make sure that the people manning the stands for them are fan friendly and I thank the Orioles and their staff for making our experience there a great one. My dad likes to collect autographs, but he's in his seventies and doesn't get around all that well. The ushers not only let you attempt to get autographs, but they actually encourage it and help the process go smoothly. I've been to a lot of baseball parks and a lot of baseball games and don't think I've ever seen the autograph process go as smoothly and easily as it did at Ed Smith. Perhaps the Orioles fans are just WAY more polite than any other teams! If you get a chance to catch a game at Ed Smith, be sure to check it out. I took my son to Sarasota for 5 days to follow the O's. The stadium is beautiful. When booking seats - consider staying away from the lower level and lower upper level on the third base side. Even thought the temp was between 61 and 73 the sun is very strong and makes watching the game uncomfortable. I'd give the stadium five stars if they opened the gates early enough to watch the O's warm up before the game - giving the fans more opportunities to interact with players. The O's should also implement a policy requiring 4 or 5 players to stay after the game for 15 minutes to sign autographs or high five the kids. The players don't even look at the kids/fans. The only ones who did stop are the players who wear the high numbers (meaning the ones not likely to make the team) and that was after I had to remind them that there were O's fans like my 6 year old waiting politely for their attention. I love the Orioles, I just wish they'd show greater appreciation for their fan base. read more

They did an incredible job renovating the stadium. Single A games are played throughout the summer and, as of this post, free of charge. Most are played during the day but we were able to catch a night game (fan appreciation night) and wee given free Orioles hats to boot. Nice touch for a Red Sox fan. read more
