The servers are all amazing. They are fast and work as one big team. The menu has many options and you can mix and match your "required" purchases. Our table had no problems with ordering and receiving drinks. We didn't order food but what we saw looked ok. The place is very nice inside. It's great that they serve throughout the show, too. The food is bar food. Best to have dinner before going to the show and enjoy some basic snacks. House rule requires a 2 item per person minimum. It can be any combination of food, sodas, or alcohol drinks. Extremely reasonable. And the staff is super helpful in guiding you. There is no bad view. Went to see a rising comedian from NY here on a Friday night. This place has been a staple for live entertainment. It is a small intimate venue with tables and chairs. They serve food and have a full bar. The beer was cold and mixed drinks were good. The food was what I call "bar food" Items that go well with drinks. They offer Fresh baked large Pretzels, coconut shrimp, burgers, nachos, chips & salsa to mention a few. The servers were excellent, serving throughout the show. The comedian was Anthony Rodia and he was excellent. His opener was goumba Johnny. a famous disk jockey from New York's WKTU radio. This venue is up close and personal which made it a great show. For a good time go to McCurdy's! The comedians were all funny and seasoned. The venue inside is intimate. There is a lounge area to wait for your party to arrive and to order drinks while you wait. The 2 drink minimum is tricky: If you order a drink in the lounge area while you wait for the doors to open for seating, those drinks do NOT count towards the minimum. The drink menu is varied but can be pricey for a small pour (or even Coke or bottled water). The food menu is much more reasonably priced (but you have to like bar food and not have food sensitivities). Saw local Sarasota veteran comedian Al Ernst - he's a must see. Better than acts I've seen in Vegas. The club is well run. Lots of parking in nearby structure. Two drink minimum and servers are available without being intrusive to the show. My rum drink was well done. Box office will call friendly and helpful. This was my first time in this comedy club. We went to see Anthony Rodia. The nice thing about this comedy club is you can sit right up front. Although, even if you are sitting in the back you are still pretty close. The seats and very small tables are very close. You will be shoulder to shoulder with whoever is sitting next to you. They have a 2 item per person minimum. They offer a menu with food, drinks and snacks. We found the menu prices to be fair and not overly expensive. There are servers that walk around taking orders. We had beers, drinks & snacks. I ordered a s'mores martini. It was delicious but very small. There wasn't much in the glass and I wouldn't order it again. The beers were cold and delicious and the snacks were all fine. The mixed drinks at other tables looked good. There was a comedian before Rodia to warm up the crowd, Goumba Johnny. Goumba Johnny used to be on the radio WKTU in New York. He was very funny and made the crowd laugh. Anthony Rodia was excellent!! This place was actually really good the comedian we saw we really liked and everything was very funny, even the owner who did his own heart and telling jokes aside, she was really funny, so overall, the comedy show was really really good, and I will certainly come back. They certainly had a strange rule that I've never heard before that when you sit at your table, you have to face the stage, and so if you are with a group of people, prepared not to really look at each other or interact and enjoy the jokes together. They also do have a two item policy in which you have to purchase either two beverages or food which I guess is not a terrible idea because you typically will get that but if you don't Drink alcohol you would have to get food. We had tickets to see a comedian a few months ago. Show was really good. The seating was fine. My only issue was wait staff never got around to our table. I had to wander around to find someone who could take the order for the four of us. As they charge each person for two drinks it was not so good. Overall a good experience though. They pack people in at tiny little tables-and it can get rather warm in there-so it's not the most comfortable in that regard. Drinks are good and reasonably priced-(with the exception of sodas and water since they have to make something on their 2-drink minimum for the non-alcoholic drinkers). The only thing I really don't like is the grumpy servers. I've been 3 times and each time the servers act like they're doing you a huge favor. Our first visit and the first night on stage since pre-pandemic for the comedians. As a caveat - this is tight quarters, no masks required, so judge your level of comfort in the current Covid environment. For a comedy club, this was clean, well organized, and service extremely efficient. Parking is next door in the multi-level garage. Be patient after the show with everyone leaving at the same tome. Valet parking suspended for now. Tickets available on line with pre-assigned seating. $25 after tax. You are required to purchase two (2) items per person once seated - from food or drink menu. All seats (except the corner) are four-tops, so you'll be sitting really close to others unless your purchase all four. Views are good from anywhere in the room. Seats are pre-assigned. The bar area is open 1/2 hour before seating begins - same menu as inside. Items purchased at bar DO NOT COUNT toward the two item minimum. Tables are small - 24" square - shared with all four. Tight, but manageable with drinks, water and food. We shared some apps - a good soft (and hot) pretzel bar dish, and spring rolls, as well as a chicken quesadilla. All decent, but the you're not here for the food, are you?. The four (4) comedians, from host Al Erntz through headliner Steve White were highly entertaining! Lots of good laughs. All spoke of the time since they last performed and had time to write lots of new material. So pick your headliner and head on in. We had a great time. We'll be back. read more

This club had a great atmosphere and proudly demonstrated its history. I enjoyed attending one night when there were three headliners. One was clearly the strongest of the bunch, but it was fun to see the variety of styles. The service was not great during the show and seemed a bit scattered. Our bill ended up being incorrect, too, which led to us needing to stick around a little longer until it was corrected. Outside of that, the flow of moving people through the theater, getting to seats, accessing restrooms, etc. were very good. read more

Follow the Yellow Brick Road down to McCurdy's Comedy Theater! We always have an amazing time at McCurdy's! We have been coming here for the last four years or so, seeing big names and locals, and we always laugh our butts off! We love being able to pick out exactly which seats we want, and usually the ticket prices are all the same, no matter where you sit. They have a great selection of cocktails, beer and wines, I always like to try one of their signature cocktails or mules when we are there. They have a two item minimum per person in the show room (18% gratuity added), and we usually stick to drinks, but we have seen some food delivered to tables and it looks pretty good. The showroom can be really tight, so if you are claustrophobic, I recommend buying tickets for tables on the end of an aisle or towards the back. You can be shoulder to shoulder with your neighbor at times. Once you started to frequent McCurdy's, they put your name, birthday and anniversary into their system, and will occasionally call you when they need to fill seats in the showroom, free tickets but of course you are still required to purchase your two items. McCurdy's makes for an amazing date night that doesn't totally break the bank. We've been to McCurdys three times this year already, and are going back again next month, we can't wait! read more

We chose to spend our 40th anniversary at this comedy club. The comedienne, Lynne Koplitz, was HILARIOUS! Our server was not. There were six of us, and when one of my friends ordered a Bahama Mama with banana liquor added, our server Matt insisted that their Bahama Mamas are always made with banana liquor. I'm here to tell you that they are not. Matt wouldn't know that though, because he never came around to see if her drink was okay. My friend took her drink to the bar, and they tried to make it right, but it still sucked. For the price, it should have been done right, and I never would have paid for it. The club has a rule that each patron must purchase two items from their menu, be it a drink or food. I can't eat AND drink at the same time, so my husband got a beer and a soda, and then we split a couple of food items. The beer was five bucks and some change, and the soda was about a buck more. WTH? The food was the usual bar food with the same usual prices. We got potato barrels, and while they were pretty good, I don't think they were worth the price. We also got a chicken quesadilla, and surprisingly, it had quite a bit of meat in it. I think the next time we go, we will just get fries and some chips with salsa. I tried one of my friend's chips, and they were just the way I like them. One more thing to note, the tickets say "doors open at 5:30". It should say "doors to the BAR open at 5:30, with seating starting at 6:00". read more

Definitely been around for awhile. The club feels old all around. They have lots of seats for their very tiny tables and DON'T MOVE THE CHAIRS! They are where they are... didn't try the food but ordered our mandatory beers which where fine. Tap beer would be better but I get it... less dishes. Anywho not really here for the fancy atmosphere but the comedy! The owner is funny, mouth of a trucker but enjoyed him. Overall good host. Second comedian was okay. She was a little awkward but did have some funny jokes. We saw Orny Adams and he was so funny. Loved that he made fun of the old folks. As long as you pick a comedian you enjoy it's worth it.
