Today, we had the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and a strawberry smoothie - both were delicious! The staff at the store and working the cart are super nice and welcoming. Some of our car club drove out to have dinner this evening and there was plenty of safe parking and the staff was extra attentive and even gave our group some cool souvenirs. We love love love the donuts that the store sells also. (We often drive through Alfalfa on our way to Bend, just to get a donut). If you see that the case doesn't have the one you want, just ask - they always have more in the back! Their fresh coffee was an added bonus with that scrumptious donut, by the way. It shows that the transaction will cost a $2 service fee -- but upon checking your statement, you will find that you actually paid $4 (or even $5) for the transaction. They will refund your money if you ask, but that might not be an option for those just traveling through.

When I arrived I needed gas and propane so I dropped my tank by propane and proceeded to get in truck to back over to gas...when I seen the attendant I said I only want 3 gal of propane in my tank...he said you are going to have to wait there are others ahead of you. I said it's fine I need gas too and backed to the gas pump. This attendant did everything he could to not help me...even when I decided to get propane elsewhere he told me as he walked away to help someone else who just pulled in seconds before...that I could get my gas somewhere else where too. I never got his name but he's a complete a**hole.

Lots of folks want self-service; but it puts people out of work, and it's a real problem for older…read morefolks, people with arthritis and so forth. Once they are able to push a state to all-self-service, you won't pay any less (if you even get a discount now). This will not benefit you in any way, and it will hurt you or your community. More people on welfare and public assistance, or more homeless. We pulled up to full-service, and no one came to fill us up, even when we pressed that button. We never had a problem with full service until Oregon allowed self-service. Maybe management is telling staff not to assist people unless they come in to the gas station; or maybe they're just not hiring adequate staff now. Who knows. But the only way to keep these jobs in our community and make sure people who want service, get service, is to refuse to use self-service. This goes for self-checking at stores. Companies make record profits now, and they sure don't return their cost savings to us. Better yet, change the law back.
