This place is an absolute must-have in Eagle River! For our family night out we all decided this was our unanimous option! The Cheese Curds were absolutely fantastic, we killed 3 plates with no issue (there were 9 of us). Most people got the pan fried Walleye, i would say it's a specialty of the restaurant and NOONE WAS DISAPPOINTED!!! Our waitress forgot to bring out our salads but there was so much food no one even cared! Each dish came out perfectly hot and delicious. When you're in the North Woods you absolute have to stop here! They've got a great ambiance and the food was fantastic, stop in and enjoy the best meal you'll have all week!! read more

This is a perfect little up north spot. The wait for a table was about 30 min. The service was ok- the waitress seemed to get flustered and confused when we asked for separate checks (but ended up doing it anyway)- she just kept repeating there's an atm. The food was pretty solid. My only complaint/concern was one of my daughter's chicken strips were not cooked- thankfully I was cutting them when I found out. Don't let reviews make your decisions. Seems only the bad ones scream the loudest. We had a great dinner and the service was great. The Old Fashion drink was good enough that I had two. Started with the cheese curds, good idea. Then on to our salad and steak dinner. It was delicious. The rolls were really good. I wanted more, but I wanted room for the steak. The temptation of the carrot cake was too great and it didn't disappoint. The whole place was very nice. Welcomed the moment we walked in. Came here at 5 PM on a Sunday. They do not take reservations, it is first come first serve. When we walked in we were seated immediately by the window. We wanted to sit on the patio but we were told that wasn't an option. Ordered salmon with rice pilaf and beer cheese soup. The beer cheese soup was to die for. The salmon was amazing- definitely a large portion. My significant other had walleye with onion rings. He loved it. He had 2 brandy old fashions and I had two Prosecco's. Our bill was $90. read more

This is a moderately priced restaurant that feels slightly upscale. The interior has imitation logs, a bar, and a nice view of the water. The menu has most items near $20 up to $30 (hence, the $$). The meal comes with soup/salad and a side (baked potato, fries, rice, etc.). They have a good drink menu: I tried the Central Waters Mudpuppy Porter and loved it. We had the Walleye, the Tenderloin, and the Parmesan Chicken for our table. All meals came with glazed carrots (which were amazing), and a candied apple; we all ordered the baked potato. The food was fabulous and we were all stuffed! We were celebrating my birthday and they brought me a dessert at the end; yes, it was fabulous. Our first meal in Eagle River. We came for dinner on a Saturday night. They deliver a plastic carafe of water and glasses to each table so you can serve yourself water refills. That's a nice touch. Our waitress, Angie, is so happy and nice. She made our visit enjoyable. She even took pictures of us (with our phone) after our meal. After taking our orders, they bring out soups (or salad) and the bread basket. Beer Soup is very thick and almost flavorless until I put the croutons back on top. The croutons added a crunchy saltiness to the soup. New England Clam Chowder (soup of the day) is very delicious and perfect. Son ordered the parmesan crusted chicken with a baked potato. Very good. Hubby ordered beef tenderloin with a baked potato. Very good. I ate the Walleye with a baked potato. The fish was pan fried and tasted great with the tarter sauce. Each meal came with candied carrots and a spiced apple slice. Delicious! Covid: Nobody wears masks around here. My family always wears masks when we are out in public. We only saw one employee who was wearing a face mask. I think there was one hand sanitizer near the hostess stand. They seated everyone every other table/booth so we felt safe. read more

Found this spot via Yelp during a busy Fourth of July week when every other restaurant was booked! This place is first come first serve, no reservations. I am bummed it took us this long to find this spot because we have been missing out! Fabulous supper club with friendly staff, great views, and delicious food at a good price. Our party of four was seated right away and was taken care of by an efficient yet friendly waiter, Leu. He wasn't messing around! Was prepared for the crazy holiday weekend, we really liked him. Sat in front of a window overlooking the water, they have outdoor seating as well. The old fashioned a were delicious, bartender pumped those out. Our party had the Alfredo, ribs, and pork. Pork was apparently over cooked but the remainder was fabulous-creamy Alfredo and tender ribs. Salad or soup with a good variety of dressings. Garlic mashed potatoes were...yum!!!! My visit to Eddie B's/White Spruce, happened on a short family weekend in Northern Wisconsin. I have a large extended family, and cousins (+ long-term significant others) get together every year or so to hang out and spend time together. We were staying at a lakehouse in Eagle River and our first order of business was to get ourselves a fish fry dinner on Friday night! Since we were in town the weekend before 4th of July, they wouldn't take reservations, it being a holiday weekend. We were a little cranky about that, but just figured we would go in at a less ideal time and and wait to be seated. Our group of 10 or 11 put our name in with the hostess and sidled up to the bar. We got a couple drinks to tide ourselves over until it was time to eat. As a Wisconsin native who no longer lives there, with a Kentucky boyfriend, I made sure the Fella got a Wisconsin-style old fashioned: a brandy old fashioned, sweet. It may have been his first, but it wasn't his last! The place might not look like much from the outside, but inside it is rustic and home-y and precisely what I would want from a supper club type of place in Northern Wisconsin! And the outdoor space looked wonderful as well. We didn't have to wait too long before we were seated. Our server, Laura, had the (probable) misfortune of having to handle our table. We are a large, loud, boisterous group! I think we all tipped her very well, because, well...we know ourselves :-P She was wonderful with the patience of a saint! Anyway, we told her right off the bat that we wanted separate checks and she just told us we could handle it at the register at the end of the meal. She took our orders, kept track on pad, and at the end she met us at the register and we told her what items we were paying for. She added it up for us and checked off things as they were paid for. It worked out perfectly. As for the food, it was just as I expected it to be! Well...I would have preferred perch for the fish fry, but I was a-ok with the cod. The slaw I got on the side was tangy . I wish there was more of the little bit of kale...thing...on the side. It was super yummy! We also shared several appetizers. The cheese curds were just as they should be. We got some other appetizers, but I can't remember which ones. But everything tasted great! The food took a little bit of a while to come out, but it was a Friday night and we were a large group. We were having a lovely time, so it didn't matter all that much. I really enjoyed our visit. And I can not say enough about the great service we experienced! read more

Service was okay other than the grumpy bartender. We had to wait to be seated which is okay. We understand a good supper club can get busy. We frequent supper clubs very regularly. So the hostess advised our table of 4 to go to wait in the bar. We ordered drinks and offered to pay, but were told we could add it to our dinner tab so we went with that. When our table was called by the hostess we proceeded to leave as the grumpy bartender shouted loudly, "don't you have a tab to pay!" It was embarrassing to say the least. And it's not like we were leaving...we were with the hostess. Our server was nice and very attentive. Our food was good, but not over the top. Enjoyed the roll, side salad, and ribs. Ribs were good, but more of a bite to the sauce then I generally like. They did fall off the bone though so no complaint there. My 2 boys also enjoyed their pasta dishes. read more

We brought our daughter and her family here because they wanted a Wisconsin fish fry before returning home to Seattle. When we spend a week at our cabin we rarely eat out. When we do venture out pan-fried walleye is a must and many northwoods restaurants don't prepare it that way. Looking at the menu we chose The White Spruce Inn because it fulfilled all of the "must-have" items of our group. My husband and I had been there for lunch a few years ago and enjoyed the food and the beautiful northwoods ambiance, but we hadn't been there for dinner. We are happy we chose the White Spruce Inn as all of us had great meals. The pan-fried walleye was outstanding, as were both the fried and baked cod. Our grandson didn't care for the ribs but he swapped meals with his dad (who loved them) and he devoured the fried cod. Our granddaughter also enjoyed her grilled shrimp. We tried the beer cheese soup (so yummy) and the Southwestern (perfect spiciness) and they were both delicious. We had a reasonable wait and our server, with help from the hostess, took great care of us despite their having described themselves as being understaffed. This past summer took me quite a few places. One of those places was Wisconsin. That was my first time ever visiting the state. I got to see some of the northern parts of the state, a bit of the middle parts, and Madison in the south. To get this out of the way... I was promised endless fields of cheese. I didn't see cheese growing anywhere. That's just bologna... but rest assured, it's not cheese bologna. I believe our party called ahead earlier in the week to make sure that they could accommodate the dozen or so of us. I heard one of them mention it to the what I assume to be the owner(when he came out). I'm used to the religious folks having a fish fry every other day in the Spring. It was surprising that Wisconsin has a fish fry every Friday! The area that we stayed in over the weekend, Eddie B's is apparently the place to go for your fish needs. I'm not sure if this is the case because I haven't been there enough but it ended up tasting great. When we arrived, we had to wait at the bar area for a while. They needed to fix up a spot for us. I'd say we waited and socialized for around 20 minutes. You could tell there were quite a few locals in the bar area. I caught a lady or two giving us the stare down like... "You guys aren't from 'round here, are yinz?" I did get to try a Wisconsin Old Fashioned for the first time. I can't say that I'm impressed but I also wasn't spitting it out. I don't even drink legit Old Fashioneds all that often. Manhattans are where it's at; Everyone knows that. We were seated and I was encouraged to go with the fish. We were definitely one of the last parties to be in there. All of our food came out fresh and it was good. I think it was a good idea to go in with a large party and order. I could easily see your time here being ruined if your food wasn't fresh. I actually hovered between 3 and 4 stars because of that. Ultimately, I clicked on the fourth star. On to the cheese curds... I mentioned it in another review and I'll say it again here. Before that, I will say that these were probably the best curds I had while in Wisconsin. With that, I still don't see the appeal. They're mozzarella sticks but in ball form. Additional: -- The server handled our table with ease. -- The checks were split at the register. No issues. -- As we were leaving, I wanted a shot of whatever bourbon they had. Well... they only had a couple of bottles and the best of those bottles was Knob Creek. I asked how much two shots were... the guy stumbled a bit like no one ever asks for bourbon before telling me $14 bucks. He obviously came up with that price off the top of his head. It was odd. Also, 14 bucks for four ounces?! Absurd. In closing, I'd say you're good to go here for a bite to eat. I know drinks tend to be higher at restaurants but don't make this a destination to have a drink. read more

We just got done eating a perch dinner. The fillets were the size of walleye but they tasted like fryer oil. Needless to say worst experience of our lives because we both had the horrific shits after we left. I found a place but it had one bathroom and people were banging on the door but all my guts were falling out. Worst experience of my life. My poor guy was just as bad. Nice first night of vacation. I ordered Parmesan crusted chicken. It was dry and not very tasty. It came with a salad which was very good. The baked potato looked like it had been prepared the day before and on my plate they had a vegetable which was broccoli. You couldn't chew it and it didn't look very appetizing. My husband had the spaghetti and thought it was good. Our friends had fish. One ordered baked and loved it the other was deep fried with way to much batter. Way over priced for what you got. I was with family staying at a nearby resort over the last 4 days. Everything about our trip was fantastic except for this one dining experience we had at Eddie B's. Let me explain.... We were greeted & seated promptly for a table of four. We proceeded to give our server our beverage order, when she finally returned with a cup of coffee and Miller Lite, my dad took a sip of his hot coffee and immediately said here try this there is something wrong with it, I laughed and said no way! implying he was on his own. Well after a minute or so I could tell that the sip he took wasn't a pleasant one so I took one for the team and took a taste test for myself....OMG, I had to discreetly spit it out immediately, I unfortunately didn't spit it out soon enough though as my tongue and lips started to tingle and get all weird feeling. I immediately knew it was laced with a chemical of some sorts. So there I was looking around for anyone with the look of "authority" to them but came up empty in my attempt, I was able to catch a nearby server and quietly & politely explained that there was a serious chemical taste to the coffee. He immediately returned it to the kitchen where I could hear the staff talking about how the coffee urns never got dumped out and scrubbed out after brewing a packet of urn & brewer cleaner (URNEX) from the previous day. Finally our server returned and laughed it off and said the "new guy" never thought to check the spot before brewing a batch. Her attitude to the situation was a bit appalling and unapologetic. Onward to dinner...one plate of the two half rack rib dinners that were ordered was tough as nails with the little bit of meat that was on them and the baked potato wasn't even Luke warm. Mind you the meatloaf dinner we had was excellent and would totally recommend it to others. We ordered our dinner just before and seconds after the nearby tables, needless to say those tables were done eating and one of the tables actually paid and left before we even got our dinner served. No apologies made for the coffee, long wait and no manager present. It's very clear this place lacks training & guidance. When the check came we were even charged for the chemical laced coffee!!!!!!! This WILL NOT be our last trip to Eagle River WI BUT DEFINITELY WILL BE THE ONE & ONLY TIME TO Eddie B's White Spruce Restaurant & Tavern. Coming back from a weekend of distant camping in the UP, we thought we'd have one meal from a restaurant, and Eddie B's looked like the place to try to safely. We stepped briefly inside at 12:15pm to get a seat in the outdoor dining area. While approaching the hostess stand, a rotund man came over from the bar and told us that he would not seat us outside today because there was a forecast of rain later. It was a bright and sunny 85 degree day, with no storm clouds on the horizon, nor any storms on the immediate radar, yet he was choosing to turn away business because he didn't want to walk outside. Since when would you turn away business over such things, and be so rude to potential customers? We then drove over to Pick N Save, picked up some rotisserie chicken and other sides, and went to the nearby park 1/4 mile away. By 2pm we were full from an enjoyable outdoor lunch, with not a storm cloud yet in the sky. Pick N Save got 5 stars today. Great job blowing it Eddie B's! read more

Stopped in for dinner with the family. All the supper clubs we've been to over the years and the first time for this one. So far not impressed, beer soup was just fair and little flavor and reminded me of home with a velvita concaso dip. None of the salad dressings were homemade and as I asked for a soup and salad I was given both at the same time. Dinner I ordered the pan fried Walleye which was the second for the table. It was just fair and I would not order it again. There were ribs ordered and were good, the shrimp scampi was also pleasing. Meatloaf look appealing the two eating it were up there in years and gave just a fair review, in fact they usually take to go what they don't finish and even though both plates had at least half portions they declined to take the rest home in a Togo box. One had the pork chop and wouldn't order again, and lastly one had Yeager schnitzel which had good reviews. Service was adequate but not what other supper clubs in the area have given. We arrived at White Spruce inn planning on having a few drinks at the bar as we typically do at any supper club but on this occasion, after our first drink we were recommended by the host to seat at the table to avoid a long wait, so we obliged, we sat at the table for an hour and could not get a waitress to bring us drinks, when we finally ordered it was after a 2 hour wait that we were told that they had no meatballs for the spaghetti and meatball entree, the meatballs ARE the entree so let the people know ahead of time so they can order something else. FUCKEN GREASY GINNEA WOPS. THIS PLACE SUCKS. this place is like a back alley comedy show. IF you hate your self and your family this is a five star you'll love it.
