We arrived early in the afternoon, and once the restaurant opened, we were provided with free smells of wonderfully cooking beef. Our plans were to go explore Kilkenny, looking for a place to eat, as the Butcher did not have any available seats. As l've done with other cities around Scotland and Ireland, I walked in, asked Camila if there were any seats available for four, she said we have one available right now. I scurried back and got the rest of the crew, and we were provided with a wonderful meal. We all chose the daily special, which was a 12 ounce ribeye, which we shared between each couple. We also added in salads, as well as grilled vegetables and sautéed mushrooms. All aspects of the meal were really good. I don't recall the name of the server, but he was very good, along with everybody else on the team who were always paying attention, and provided you with anything you needed at a moment's notice. Thinking that adding a few veggies to my meal couldn't hurt, I went with the lunch version, and in fact chose the vegetarian option, which features tomato, cheese, and caramelized onions as the filling. In addition to greens, there was some tomato, slices of pepper, an olive or two, and some hand cut shards of carrot, which is a nice change from the usual packaged, dried-out, grated variety.
