Very casual. Very clean. Nice little selection of bar food. Jalapeño Poppers & Mini Corndogs are a nice go to. But there are burgers and chicken sandwiches with fries or onion rings too. The staff are always friendly. Prices will save you a little vs surrounding spots to eat and drink. read more

We stopped here after we attempted to go to Chicken Lips (they were practically spilling out of the building they were so busy) for lunch on a Friday afternoon. I've been in here a few times but typically during the evening hours and never to eat. The bar was almost full and they had a couple of tables eating as well. We were barely in our seats at the bar when we were greeted by a super friendly bartender. Neither one of us are big beer drinkers but if you are, this is the place to come. They had an extensive list of beers, both on tap and in bottles. Eddie's has a great menu with variety - not too big, which is appreciated. Everyone at the bar had burgers so we followed suit and ordered a Johnny burger to split, along with fries and fried zucchini spears. The burger was amazing; perfectly cooked and perfectly topped. It's weird, I noticed how good the bun was; it was hearty and held everything together very well. Their regular fries were crispy and lightly salted. The zucchini spears weren't my favorite, I thought they were heavily breaded. Zucchini is hard to do tho, they're typically pretty bland and fragile. The ranch they were served with was delicious, though =) They only had two people working; one bartending and one cooking. They were both extremely friendly and efficient - everyone had refills and food quickly. It's not the biggest place but I enjoyed their décor and the fact that they had pull-tabs. Popped in here for a couple drinks after work last week. I had never been in before. There is parking in the back which is very nice. There was quite a bit of snow on the ground, and it was rather busy at about 5pm (for Eddie's and just in general with people being out and about) so the parking was a little messy - but I was still able to find a spot and didn't have to attempt to parallel park on Main Street or any other street - so that's a win. Inside there was plenty of bar seating as well as tables throughout. There was a pool table, too. There was some event going on, I think someone's birthday, so it was busier than usual. The bar staff was on their A game though and very efficient. They remained friendly and courteous despite their obvious heavy workload at the time. The drinks were good. There was a large beer selection. The food smelled amazing. Overall - I liked it. I would go back for sure. read more

Good beer selection and solid food. For dinner, I went with the chicken cordon bleu sandwich. The chicken was tender and juicy and it had a good amount of ham on it. The alfredo sauce was a nice touch. Good flavors all around. The chicken breast was kind of small and I didn't get very many fries with my order. Everything did taste great though and was reasonably priced. They have a really solid beer selection with a wide variety of unique beers. It was odd that you couldn't find any prices for the beers. We couldn't find beer prices listed anywhere which was odd. The service was mediocre but the staff was very nice and friendly. I'd definitely come back if I'm looking for some good bar food and a tasty beer in Sun Prairie. read more

I paid for one beer with $5 after my first round and when I was finished, I left to pull the car around for my wife and friends. The bartender forced my wife to pay for my beer again. He told her I hadn't paid. It won't mean much, I'm one person, but I won't be back. read more

My friends frequent this place; so, since we were heading to Sun Prairie and there was a Bucky Book coupon, we thought we'd give it a shot. I don't know why I thought it would be more restauranty, but it definitely had more of a bar feel. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by John and felt warmly welcomed. We opted to sit at the bar, since the tables were labeled as being reserved for parties of 4 or more. There was quite a good beer selection and a lot of Wisconsin brewery offerings. I tried the Short's Synalpheus Pinkfloydi Cherry Lemonade Gose. It was very cherry and tart, almost tasting like juice, but that's ok because if I order something with cherry in it, I want to taste that flavor. And I did. My boyfriend ordered the O'so Fuzzy Dream IPA. Now, he's not really a citrusy beer kinda guy and didn't realize it was an orangesicle flavor (despite being semi-appropriately named), but he really enjoyed it and even ordered another. There are plenty of specials to choose from: including beer and food. Next we'll move along to the food. I thought the prices were pretty decent. We first ordered the sample appetizer. It was delivered hot and fresh. The downfall to this fresh delivery of greasy goodness was that I burned a little of my tongue from the get-go (patience is something I am practicing when it comes to hot, delicious looking food). Thankfully, this did not interfere with my ability to enjoy the light, crispy, flavorful batter surrounding the chicken tenders, shrimp, mushrooms, and jalapeño popper in the basket. We also ordered a crispy chicken sandwich and grilled chicken sandwich. While the grilled chicken was tender and juicy, I was a bit off put by the rubbery texture. My boyfriend liked his crispy chicken. We both agreed that the buns they used were to die for. The bathrooms were a little awkward. There is a solo stall, which is fine, except the way it is positioned in conjunction with the sink made me feel like someone could see in the stall while standing there waiting to use the restroom. The gap between the stall door and wall were just a bit too wide for my comfort. But, maybe it's tactic to get people in and out quickly. Haha. One of my favorite parts, besides the bartender Josh sporting a "Wisconsin Mom" shirt which was amazing, was the clock (kicking myself for not snapping a pic of it!). The numbers were all jumbled around, as if to suggest the time didn't matter or maybe even if you had enough beer, the time would actually make sense. Next time I go, because there will be a next time, I'll get a pic! Even though a rather large wedding party stormed the bar at one point, John and Josh were able to hold it down and offer a wonderful experience. We are looking forward to returning! read more

We had the burgers and fries. Burgers were cooked perfectly. We really appreciated the French fries. I had fried onions on my hamburger. They were sweet, cooked just perfect, no bitter char on them, buttery and delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. We tipped her over 20% because she deserved it. read more

This is my favorite bar in Sun Prairie. It's not a "turn up" bar but if you're looking for some good tunes and a chill, intimate, yet fun atmosphere this is your place. They play GOOD MUSIC! That's a huge plus. Not Kesha, not 80s crap, good music. So many beautiful brews to chose from. Ahh. That is the best thing. They have a wonderful selection. You get the rugged feeling of country in Wisco yet you feel at the heart of downtown Sun Prairie. Come here to catch up with an old friend, new friend, sh**... do what I do and come by yourself after work. Bartenders are cool, knowledgeable and friendly. I am new to Sun Prairie and like to support local businesses but I won't be going back to Eddie's. Like other reviewers here I am also flabbergasted by the rudeness of the staff. I tried Eddie's twice and both times no one acknowledge that I was even in the room. The second time was with an out of town guest, we were two of about 6 people total in the place, the bartender looked at us a few times but never acknowledged us or asked us if we wanted anything. Maybe they don't have table service. If that is the case hang a sign or have the courtesy to tell patrons they need to come to the bar, we are not mind readers. I think they call it the 'hospitality industry' - don't bother with these inhospitable clowns. read more

The first thing you notice about this place is the cigarette smoke. The second thing I notices was the dirty tables. The plates had been removed, but no one bothered to clean up all of the crumbs left behind. The bottled beer selection is impressive but I wish they had more on tap. I got the Boden cheeseburger basket. It came with fried onions and chipotle mayo. The extra $2 for the basket option allowed for waffle fries. The burger wasn't bad but the serving size of fries was really skimpy and not worth an extra $2. My husband got the chicken sandwich with a cup of soup. The soup was pretty good but the sandwich was no more than average. Basically, I would not go out of my way to eat here. It is just far too average. read more

New on the Sun Prairie scene, Eddie's boasts an extensive (and impressive) beer selection, juke box to sing-a-long to, dart board, pool table, appealing decor and deliciously greasy bar food make this place one of Sun Prairie's finest. The bar is quite small and gets a bit smoky on busy weekend nights. Therefore, I prefer the early Eddie's crowd. On Mondays they host trivia from 8-10pm and offer occasional live music. Once the state-wide smoking ban goes into effect, I'll be much more willing to visit on weekend nights. read more

This is a small local place has seating for about 38. They have a great selection of beer. They also have two smaller tvs (32") and one larger tv (50"). I will reiterate that the beer selection is more than reasonable, but that's the only positive I can think of. My wife ordered a mixed drink with a wedge of lime. The lime was brown and smelled horrible. The cheese curds were not bad, but they weren't memorable at all. The are lightly battered and served hot with a side of ranch. They are a bit greasy, but again not bad just not good either. They left me saying, "meh". I ordered a chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken appeared to be precooked and frozen and was simply warmed back up. It was served on a kaiser bun, which did have nice flavor. The wilted lettuce took away from it completely though. The plain mayonnaise was needed but it's complete lack of flavor just took away from this already below average sandwich. The French fries were definitely frozen and then deep fried. Another instance of they weren't bad but they weren't good. I don't like giving out poor reviews, but I think people also need to know what to expect. As far as I've seen, Eddies has the vastest beer selection in the area. There is one other place In Madison that offers a comparable selection, but eddies is definitely the place to go. The bartenders tend to be fairly knowledgeable about the beer they serve, the place has a welcoming atmosphere, the prices are good, they have a pool table, and they have several large t.v.'s to watch the game on. The downside? The place is rather small, and on late nights and weekends it can get pretty crammed. I'm talking rubbing elbows, hard to shoot pool, feeling of being at a concert crammed. Which may put a lot of people off. But remember, all those patrons cram in there for a reason. read more

Great craft beer selection, draft and bottle. The draft selections are always changing. The beers are served in the proper glassware also for the beer type. They don't have a huge food menu, but a decent enough selection. I had the grilled ham and cheese today for lunch. There was too much bun for the amount of meat. Still tasted good though. This place is fantastic. Quality service from knowledgeable bartenders always make a great experience. The owner is a true beer lover and it shows. Always 100+ beers to choose from with a consistently cycling inventory means you can always trying something new or stick with what you know and love. Of course they have the standard miller/bud/coors crap that some people seem to enjoy. But if you're feeling adventurous, trying something new. Even if you're not sure, the well informed staff will point you in the right direction. Food is really good too. Anything from waffle fries and mac n cheese bites to the 'Danny Burger' or pizzas have never let me down. The food is inexpensive and local. Also a great place to watch a game. read more

I went there for fish fry last Friday. It was excellent! I had the cod and my husband had the perch - both just delicious. They came with fries (which were okay) and coleslaw (some of the best I've ever had). I was under the impression from the website that this was a bar with an eating area, but it really is more like a bar with a grill and a few large tables. It was all one room with a pool table at one end and the front door at the other, with the bar itself running almost the length of the room. But it really isn't a large room. I took my children (again, I thought it had more seating area) and they shared a couple of sliders (tiny little burgers, apparently). This place has quite a beer list. My husband had a Raging Bitch (har har har) and I enjoyed a lovely 7 & 7. Eddie's is on Main Street, so there are a couple of parking spots out front, we went after banking hours and so parked behind the building, in the bank's parking lot. read more

Best beer selection in Sun Prairie hands down. I remember their food being better but my sandwich was kind of blah. I got a bbq bacon chicken sandwich with waffle fries. They weren't seasoned and very forgettable. The server was ok. They had a nitro stout and that's what I look for so I was very pleased. She served it to me in a pint glass but confessed it was a mistake. It should have come in a smaller glass. I ordered another beer and it came in this tiny 8 oz glass. If I had known it would be so small I would not have ordered it. They need to have the sizes on the menu so you know what you're paying for. I felt it was misleading. And they need to step up their food game if we're going to be eating there as well as enjoying beer. Other than that I do like having a nicer place downtown with good beers. read more

Eddie's is a solid neighborhood bar. Great beers, burgers, and service with a pool table and some dart boards. I was really surprised by comments of rude staff. We've been stopping in for years every few months, and have always had great service from the same guys, Glenn and Gabe. Both are friendly dudes, and knowledgeable about beers (I always let them pick my beer for me- I just tell them what I'm in the mood for, and they surprise me.)
