    a burger and fries
    Janice J.

We stopped here after we attempted to go to Chicken Lips (they were practically spilling out of the building they were so busy) for lunch on a Friday afternoon. I've been in here a few times but typically during the evening hours and never to eat. The bar was almost full and they had a couple of tables eating as well. We were barely in our seats at the bar when we were greeted by a super friendly bartender. Neither one of us are big beer drinkers but if you are, this is the place to come. They had an extensive list of beers, both on tap and in bottles. Eddie's has a great menu with variety - not too big, which is appreciated. Everyone at the bar had burgers so we followed suit and ordered a Johnny burger to split, along with fries and fried zucchini spears. The burger was amazing; perfectly cooked and perfectly topped. It's weird, I noticed how good the bun was; it was hearty and held everything together very well. Their regular fries were crispy and lightly salted. The zucchini spears weren't my favorite, I thought they were heavily breaded. Zucchini is hard to do tho, they're typically pretty bland and fragile. The ranch they were served with was delicious, though =) They only had two people working; one bartending and one cooking. They were both extremely friendly and efficient - everyone had refills and food quickly. It's not the biggest place but I enjoyed their décor and the fact that they had pull-tabs. Everything was really clean too, bonus!

Good beer selection and solid food. For dinner, I went with the chicken cordon bleu sandwich. The chicken was tender and juicy and it had a good amount of ham on it. The alfredo sauce was a nice touch. Good flavors all around. The chicken breast was kind of small and I didn't get very many fries with my order. Everything did taste great though and was reasonably priced. They have a really solid beer selection with a wide variety of unique beers. It was odd that you couldn't find any prices for the beers. We couldn't find beer prices listed anywhere which was odd. The service was mediocre but the staff was very nice and friendly. I'd definitely come back if I'm looking for some good bar food and a tasty beer in Sun Prairie.

Typical Dive bar with many beers on tap, I was expecting a lot cleaner, more modern place. Nope.needs updating.

Decent place for an ale. A lot of different beers on hand. A notch above a hole in the wall bar but nothing spectacular.

My childhood friend Cara, and I enjoyed a pleasant lunch Thursday afternoon as served by Grace (with grace). We both had the Mediterranean Bowl (see photo). This order comes up fast, and it's a lot of food to satiate you. It could be saved for your dinner later. Overall, a good price, and for a little extra it comes with a filet of salmon (my choice) or chicken breast. For dessert we shared the black and tan brownie - served with French Vanilla ice cream on top and whipped cream on the sides... it was DELICIOUS. Just an absolutely fabulous dining experience! Thank you, Dane! Erik

Food 3/5: we're used to Minnesota old fashions, so the watered down version seems odd to us. We got on old fashion without a mixer , and it tasted like the added water to it. The cheese curds at this place used to be hand battered, but now seem frozen. The dipping sauce was a nice compliment, but not the most fresh. The kids loved their Dino nuggets with fruit and ranch. The Mac and cheese was buttered noodles with sprinkle cheese and didn't have an actual cheese sauce, we would not recommend. Everyone else at the table got some version of the fish fry. The haddock was cooked well and the portion was adequate. The fish sandwich was undercooked/doughy and was not good. I did like their tartar sauce and thought it balanced the fish well. Service 4/5: our waiter seemed a little overwhelmed and was attentive as he was able. He did get our kids orders in before ours which was nice. The food came hot. Ambiance 5/5: we were sat upstairs which was beautiful during the sunset. Overall this is a kid friendly place (upstairs at least) and our kids loved looking g out the windows and watching the cars and the sunset. Overall their food quality and options have changed over the years and is not as consistently high quality as it used to be. The menu has also changed significantly, so check before you come. If you need a kid friendly place, the have great kid options.

We had some old fashioneds before ordering food, and I thought they were good. Service was super attentive, especially as we delayed ordering to enjoy drinks and an appetizer for a bit. I ordered the beer battered cod fish fry (my staple), and overall it was yummy to eat. The two pieces that came out were enormous and a bit wonky shaped... made me wonder what on earth this fish looked like in its swimming days. The batter was quite tasty, crunchy but not too crunchy/hard, but it was so incredibly think I'm not sure I got fish in every bite. I took one piece home and give the fish part to my pup as a meal topper, and the ratio of breading I had to pull off compared to fish was a bit (quite a bit) much. Still, everything I ate was tasty. I got the salad with my dinner, and was so happy that it came out with quality greens instead of a chunk of iceberg type lettuce. Overall, I'd come back again if others wanted, but wasn't wild about the batter to fish ratio.

Ordered the soup and half sandwich special for $6!!! Soup was good flavor but the consistency was chalky, you can tell it was on too hot and milk had split. Sandwich was perfectly grilled and served with a pickle. Nice portions for how extremely reasonable. Servers were helpful and quick, they both helped each other and had a good time behind the bar.
