Passing through and happened upon Eddie's. It did not disappoint! Great steaks, great service! Old school atmosphere.

Found this place while passing through Guymon for the first time and after our first choice was found to be closed for business. Housed in a two story building circa 1960's(?), as you enter into a dark room lined with dark wood paneling your confronted with the odor of cigarette smoke probably wafting still from the 60's as well. The dining area consists of 12-15 tables of varying size and seating capacity. Adding to the charm is a long bar that appeared to be pretty well stocked We were immediately greeted by very friendly servers that made us feel welcome and took our drink orders while allowing us to explore the menu. My son and I both went for the 6oz filet with loaded baked potatoes with a request of medium rare on both steaks. If you are someone that knows and enjoys a good steak I bet these would rank up there with most any of the best you've had both from a perspective of the incredible tenderness and intense flavor of this bacon wrapped morsel of "oh man, that's amazing" I'm so glad the other place closed. I sat down at the bar and received a warm welcome from a pleasant bar tender. A bowl of fresh veggies, a glass of water and a menu was set in front of me immediately. I ordered a cabernet which came in a very generous serving compared to most steak houses. My ribeye was cooked to perfection and had a unique but not overpowering seasoning on it, the loaded baked potato was the perfect accompaniment for a great steak! We were traveling through Guymon and had dinner at Eddie's. Our waitress was wonderful and made great suggestions. We got the larger filet and the handbreaded shrimp as she recommended. Eddie's is and always has been a favorite of mine growing up. But ever since I moved away from Guymon, I have a different type of appreciation for this place. The type of aged steaks you can get at Eddie's are just simply more expensive elsewhere. No matter what you come in for, your meal starts with a small selection of vegetables like carrots, celery, and radishes with dip. Something I which other restaurants would implement. Even if you're coming in for a burger, you can say you were at least a little healthy even if you skip the side salad and go for fries instead. The wait staff is really just the best, and I always have a good time in that regard. And the bartenders know how to mix up a delicious mixed drink. A quick word on the negative side. Thanks to being purchased, Eddie's was able to stay open after the previous owner's death. But since then, not just myself but others, including my dad, have reported that the steaks aren't quite as consistent in selection as they used to be. The cooking is still delicious, but sometimes the meat can be a little more stringy or chewy if you happen to get a bad steak. I didn't believe that as I hadn't gotten one until the last time I was in. That won't happen with the or larger cuts of meat from what I've seen, but when I chose to get the smallest ribeye size, my ribeye definitely was pretty chewy and about 30-40% fat and other chewy bits. And yet I still stand with my review being five stars. The flavor here is just that good as well as the service and all the little amenities you get. I think it's just worth it to pay the extra three or four dollars to get a larger steak if you want the best. But things have also changed in a really good way as well for other aspects. They did a really good job of updating and cleaning the interior. The entire Place feels a lot less like you wouldn't want the lights turned up. Haha. But otherwise they've kept a lot of the same vibe. Dark lighting that makes for a nice romantic upscale experience. Overall it's just an experience that I always have to make sure and have any time I come to town. read more

Almost didn't stop here due to google reviews. I will have to say it's one of the finest steaks I have had put in a while. I like the au jus soaked plate. Au jus was very tasty. The outside of this restaurant is very plain and kind of outdated but don't let that stop you from going in! I had the 12oz filet and it was superb! It was cooked perfectly and the au jus just added more flavor. They serve a bowl of fresh vegetables before the meal kinda like chips and salsa, which I thought was a little different but I totally loved it! The homemade ranch dressing is what put the veggies over the top. If you are hungry, this is the best place to eat in town. read more

I've eaten here twice in the last 8 months and both times were excellent. I love that they bring a vegetable bowl with ranch dressing before the meal as an alternative to the traditional "breaking of bread" welcome. And I will say it is some of the best ranch dressing I've ever had (and I'm not a fan of ranch). They even have Dorothy Lynch french dressing for your salad which a friend recommended (and noted that can usually only be found further West). The Ribeye is really good but the Prime Rib and Filet Mignon are out of this world. NOTE: If you plan on ordering the Prime Rib on a weekend, call ahead to reserve a cut because they can run out. The decor is definitely that of a dimly lit 1970's steakhouse but I love it because I grew up eating in Steakhouses like this. I love that there is a cage around the bar to prevent minors from sitting there - it makes for an amusing feature to tell friends about. read more

Eddie' Steak and Seafood is a bit off the beaten path if you are not from Guymon, but once found, you are in for a treat. I ordered Dinner to go one evening and I was very pleased with the service. The food was excellent, the side dishes are homemade and made to order, so always fresh and hot. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They made sure I had plenty of sauces, salt, pepper, plastic ware and they even kept everything separate so as not to get anything soggy. I really appreciated them going the extra mile to provide an excellent meal for someone passing through and staying at a hotel. Hats off to Eddie's Steak and Seafood. The atmosphere for dining in is that of a high-end steakhouse and I was very impressed with that. Good job to all of the staff at Eddie's. I will be back. read more

Overall pretty good. Nice waitresses. Dated decor, but fits the town. I had filet mignon. The meat was delicious. Not sure why they pour au-jus on it, would have rather had that on the side or not at all. The chicken and pork tenderloin also good. The ranch dressing was great!!! Funny part, with it being an older restaurant, when I visited the bathroom, I found it interesting, in a good way, that they had automatic toilet paper dispensers. Also, there was a little light where the water comes out on the faucet when washing your hands. :). Cute. I have never seen either before. I think all bathrooms should have auto-t.p. dispensers. read more

We arrived at peak dinner hour on a Friday night after a day of driving and eating in the car. We we're greeted from the bar and promptly got a table for two. Within minutes another friendly soul brought water, silverware, menus & checked for a drink order. While we we're perusing the menu, back she came with a bowl of ice cold veggies (carrots, celery, green onions, radishes, broccoli) & homemade ranch dressing. So seriously fresh & cold, we scarfed them down with little hesitation. We both settled on a Modelo with an ice cold mug. I chose the 6 oz filet with baked potato & a side of fried mushrooms while the hubs chose the 12 oz ribeye, baked potato & sautéed mushrooms. When the food started arriving, we were glad we chose the smaller cuts. Steaks perfectly cooked, baked potatoes loaded, huge fried mushrooms with more of the yummy ranch dressing and a couple of dinner rolls made for a delicious dinner! Several people came by to check on us a number of times. Needless to say, we passed on dessert and opted for a to-go box. As other Yelp reviewers mentioned, don't be scared away by an older building on the outside and the carpeted inner door ... it's eclectic! And the food and service are excellent. Not exactly what you might expect in Guymon Oklahoma. Kind of a swanky joint, white table cloth and candlelight, dark and private. Reminded me of a mob type joint from the movies. They brought out a nice bowl of fresh veggies with ranch to start. Staff was super nice and friendly. I had a filet (rare) with mushrooms and fried squash. I assume the steak was a prepackaged (frozen) like from Omaha steaks or some place similar. It was cooked pretty good but could do without the bacon wrap. Not a ton of flavor but decent. Mushrooms were good as well. The fried squash was pretty greasy. I was not a big fan. Had my boy with me on this trip and he got the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. The burger meat looked again, per packaged, but he seemed to enjoy it. The onion rings were really good. All in all, not a terrible experience and I would stop again if ever in no man's land. Not a ton of options in Guymon American. I'd give it a 10 out of 10 for the area. read more

I was hesitant at first because of the photos posted here, but, WOW what a great meal. The dim lighting in the restaurant and the presentation of the food don't make for great photos, but everything tasted truly amazing, like a really good home-cooked meal. The waitresses are very friendly, and the general ambiance is relaxed and comfortable. We got a ribeye steak, potato soup, side of vegetables, and silk pie for dessert. 10/10 read more

Excellent food and service! I highly recommend the salmon. As the review stated above the outside is not much to look at, in fact there are no window so we weren't sure what this place was all about. The inside has a 60's nostalgic look. There is not much to choose from in Guymon, and we're wanting some home type of healthy homemade something. Well this hit the spot! The veggies served beforehand were just what we needed after a long road trip. My husband had steak and sweet potatoes fries. Really weird spot. It's located in a plaza, where several businesses often don't succeed. It's been there for decades along with "Pop a Top" bar.the food is not that great. The tables you'll eat are fold up tables with a cloth over it. Over priced food. You'll be paying about $15-20 for a plate. Burnt steak. I been there twice, not by choice but on company meeting. Outdated place. And it's run by the two worse individuals Goofy looking Michael. And Krystal Davis. You cant smoke in this business but might as well allow it since you'll smell it through your dining experience and you'll leave smelling like it, the smoke from Pop A Top Bar goes through the sliding doors they share. read more

My family has lived in the Oklahoma panhandle since 1890 and Eddies has been around forever. It's the most solid restaurant in the area. The atmosphere is dark and sultry; the bar is beautiful. After a long day of driving we wanted a good quality meal. The desk clerk at our hotel recommended this restaurant. It did not disappoint. The service was friendly and cordial. From the outside the business is not all that inviting but once inside it was clear that we would have a good experience. From the beginning of the meal you are provided with veggies and ranch (bread is only with certain menu items) I had the order of fried mushrooms and they were delicious and had perfect texture.
