    Edelweiss Highlands

We'd seen the owner competing on Halloween Baking Championship and decided we needed to try her treats for ourselves since in town for a couple of days. The deserts displayed were vibrant and eye-catching for sure. We grabbed a couple pastries, a lemon raspberry layered cake slice, and a few chocolates to bring home to my husband. The cake was yummy...rich and tart, exactly how I expected it to be. The pastries were good, yet fairly average I'd say. We definitely enjoyed the cinnamon bun over the chocolate filled. My husband said his chocolate souvenirs were very tasty! Cute shop, with indoor & outdoor seating and a decent amount of parking.

The desserts here are just beautiful. Comparable in quality to any bakery in any big city. There is so much thought put into every layer. Truly outstanding and probably the only place that will knock your socks off in the Highlands area. I mean what a gem. The flavors of each pastry were also so well balanced. 1000/10 The bakery itself was also lovely. A big beautiful White House surrounded by bold flowers. A great place to spend a morning or early afternoon.

Wow! I've been dying to try the beautiful Edelweiss bakery for months and finally made my way there on Wednesday. The large white house with beautiful flowers and front porch is very welcoming. You step into this old home converted to a beautiful bakery and the treats in the case are absolutely awe inspiring. Some look far too beautiful to eat. We settled on a few items to eat while we were there, an almond croissant, cinnamon roll and blueberry and cream cheese pastry. All were delicious although I was a little disappointed there was no offer to warm them. While they do offer coffee, it's nothing fancy, and there are other cold drinks in a case for purchase. I think offering to warm the pastry and adding the option for a latte or specialty coffee would give this place five stars no problem. I wish I could give them 4.5. As for the beautiful Desserts... They are stunning and equally delicious. We opted for the Keylime tart, the peanut butter tart and the gorgeous Highlands acorn to go and enjoyed them later at home. The key lime was light and tasted authentic and delicious (no fake citrus essence here). The peanut butter and chocolate was so rich and every bite was perfection. The acorn was so gorgeous. It seemed a shame to cut it open... But my family all really enjoyed it. I will absolutely return and I do highly recommend this gorgeous spot... I'd just plan on taking your items to go if you want your pastries served warm or with a warm beverage. I can't wait to return.

Edelweiss Highlands is a must-do whenever we are in the Highlands area! From Pumpkin Petite Gateaus to Chocolate Truffles, Chef Oksana shines bright! Her flavor combinations are innovative and her execution on each pastry is a true delight. We have tried many of her creations and so far we have loved every one. It is evident the passion that Chef Oksana has for her craft. What an honor to have her in Highlands! I can whole-heartedly recommend Edelweiss Highlands. It is truly an experience and an adventure for the senses!

This is a very instagram-worthy place. The pastries are so beautiful they remind you of a Disney Cartoon (Poison apple anyone ? - it was an option !) All were so beautiful, it was difficult to make a selection. However, prices are not for the faint of heart... so your wallet won't be able to handle going crazy. My 3 items were $45 total ! I got the cute Mushroom ($19) featured in just about everyone's reviews. It was well-constructed from quality ingredients. The chocolate was very rich and the inside of each section had a flavored filling. The description said dark chocolate, but it was only like 50% cocao, so it was not over-powering. My husband got one of the lowest-priced items: a ($9) Key Lime Tart. This had excellent flavor and was the favorite item for both of us. We took the berry pavlova ($13) home and ate it the next day. It had a raspberry filling and a dulce de leche type of meringue on the top. Very interesting. The bakery is inside an older home. Very pretty gardens outside with hydrangea bushes and other flowers and a pretty porch to sit outside. The interior has 2 main rooms to sit. One with a fireplace. Oddly, the bathroom has a full tiled shower - obviously left over from the days it was an actual home. The owner/ cashier sounded French and had a pleasant but "I don't care if you buy anything or not attitude." I guess that's typical. It didn't bother me as it's just a culture difference. Haha. The artistry and skill is apparent. I would definitely return. After posting photos on my personal FB page, I've had several inquiries from friends wanting to try this place and being very impressed with the items.

If you're wondering whether to stop in this pastry boutique, it is definitely worth it! It truly is a boutique and not just a bakery - you can tell that each pastry is delicately and thoughtfully prepared and you can taste the love and care that Oksana puts into her craft. We loved watching her on tv and were amazed & impressed that the desserts tasted just as good as they looked!! We also really appreciated there were two gluten-free options (that didn't taste GF!) and the coffee was also the perfect touch and accompaniment. We were so grateful to even get to meet Oksana who was so lovely, gracious and kind.

I have never seen more beautiful pastries. The artistry of the pastries is immaculate and so detailed. There is a bit of whimsy about it. It made me ooh and ahh. We got the napoleon cake and a chocolate croissant. They were absolutely delicious. There is a huge front porch to sit on that looks out over a lovely garden. It's a beautiful place and we hope to return when we're back in Highlands!

Creative and delicious pastries and coffee in an elegant and lovely space on the Cashiers Road. Broad porches and small cafe tables inside. Owner is the former pastry chef at Midpoint and other well known restaurants on the Plateau.

Sugar Cloud has a very attractive store front and the interior matches that. I love all the things they have displayed in the store with coffee and candy and other stuff for sale. The display of cupcake and brownies were very tempting, but I was focused on the donuts. The best pricing would be to get half a dozen or a dozen (buy 5 get 1 free). We only ended up getting 3. The donuts are large in size and they make their own dough daily. First one we tried was the filled chocolate buttercream. It was truly FILLED with chocolate buttercream. Every single bite had chocolate buttercream. It was definitely fresh and delicious. The Samoa and maple bacon did not disappoint either. Although they were good, I felt the pricing was a bit steep and they weren't he best donuts I've ever had. But it was worth the stop and the calories!
