In Los Angeles, there are endless options when it comes to choose wedding vendors. Though Sedona is a popular destination wedding site, the vendor list leaves much to be desired. I quickly found that there wasn't a lot of selection and those I did have to choose from did not have the quality I was looking for. Many are way overpriced and (I can only assume) must feel that they have a monopoly on the business in the area. From the moment that I found Everlasting Cinema, I knew that Ryan and Jodi were the ones for us. I still watched literally every video they had every posted online... just to make sure. While they are not located in Sedona, they were more than happy to work with us. I first made contact with Ryan about year out from our wedding and he returned my call within an hour. I was honest and upfront about what I did and did not need and he was happy to help direct me towards a package and services that really fit my vision. His contract and payment schedule was straightforward and there were no hidden costs or fees. Months later when we were visiting Arizona, Jodi offered to meet us at a coffee shop to discuss the details of our event. She took notes, asked questions, and really took the time to make sure she understood our vision and what we were hoping for. At that time, we had asked for some additional upgrades, and even though we were already in contract, they were happy to amend it to include the additional services we wished to purchase. There was great communication leading up to the wedding and follow through every step of the way. On the wedding day, they were there on time and prepared. They were flexible, captured every moment as promised, and stayed until the very end. With the exception of 1 shot, they never "staged" us or had us repeat a moment. Everything unfolded naturally and was an authentic representation of our wedding day. They delivered on everything and had a beautiful video in our hands within the time frame we had agreed upon. Our video exceeded our expectations and truly captured the day. Despite never having filmed a Catholic ceremony before, they captured all of the important parts and were exceptionally respectful of the Church when filming in that space. They aren't the cheapest videographer you'll find, but their prices are more than reasonable and the quality is there. If you choose Everlasting Cinema as your vendor, you will not be disappointed and you won't have to worry about them missing a shot or not following through. I am a large scale event coordinator by profession and work with videographers often, if they were closer I would hire them for every work event I had. I really can not stress enough how satisfied and pleased we were. I can only hope I have the opportunity to work with them again.

Most aspects of the wedding will come and go (hopefully not the spouse!) but a video would allow to enjoy our day over and over again. After a bit of research, we decided to use Simply Cinema. They did a great job on the highlight film. I could watch that 10 minute clip over and over again . . . and I have. I would have liked a little more human/live interaction. In all of the exchanges there was only one phone call (I think, maybe, that may have been the first phone call I made to initiate service). There was a lot of communication via email and an online survey to capture what I wanted in my video. Very convenient, yet not much of a personal feel. I have never used a videographer before, so knowing how to answer the questions on the survey was a little difficult, it would have been helpful to have a live person to talk me through my options. For example, I was asked to select three songs to be on my highlight video. The three I picked were not available due to copyright, so they picked songs for me. The songs they picked are fine (again, I love the highlight video), however if I was given a list of 'approved' songs to pick from I might have been able to get songs that I wanted. The two videographers that filmed our wedding day were awesome, I really enjoyed having them there. Nice, funny, just kinda quietly hung out in the background, getting everything on tape, and stepping in to help or offer a suggestion when needed. Turns out there was a problem with one of the cameras and the wide shot during the wedding was blurry. Kind of a bummer when I was saying my vows. After notifying the owner we did end up getting the raw footage at no cost to make up for the blurry shot. That was nice. Overall, the work was good and the prices reasonable. A little to be desired with the communication, but if you know that going into it, you can be prepared for it and still get a good product without blowing the budget.

My wedding videographer completely fell short of professionalism, communication, and delivering on her contract. Her contract stated that videos would be delivered within 60 days, yet it took over 110 days to receive anything close to what was promised. She missed her own deadlines at least seven times, each time with a new excuse. Communication was poor throughout the process, and it became clear she was not being truthful about her progress or intentions. The wedding highlight video she eventually sent was late and had issues. The sound was off, and it contained random footage of a desert--not even from our wedding day. On top of that, despite advertising drone footage, she didn't use a drone at our wedding. Three months later, she showed up at our venue (without notifying us) to get drone footage, which obviously wasn't from our wedding day, and she added that into the highlight video after fixing the sound. While the highlight video turned out cute in the end, it wasn't authentic to our wedding day, which is incredibly disappointing. We also NEVER received our fully edited videos as promised. After months of excuses, being blocked, ignoring our demand letter, and given so many chances to solve this matter amicably, I am now having to take Carly to small claims court. I consider myself a very patient and understanding person, but this experience was beyond unprofessional. It was heartbreaking to trust someone with such an important day and be let down so completely. While I can give credit for the highlight video being nice in the end (besides not having the drone footage from our wedding), it doesn't excuse the lack of integrity and communication, missed deadlines, breach of contract, and missing our footage we paid for.
